There probably needs to be a part two to this video, comparing the Corsair new/old AIOs to your other AIO picks of 2021 onwards from Phanteks, NZXT and Fractal as well as throwing in the Arctic Liquid Freezer II series, highlighting each AIO’s unique feature set, and seeing whether combining each brand’s high static-pressure fans (e.g.: ML120) with their respective high-airflow fans (e.g.: AF120) in a push-pull AIO would’ve truly made a difference (especially with the 13900KS (even undervolted)).
Also, looks like your experimenting with the studio lighting with a bit more green here!

    • @robeytech
      @robeytech  Год назад +4

We would do that in a larger probably recap versus a part two of a review 😀. It’s also hard to compare some of these given this is probably a big year for AiO refreshes meaning a lot of older models are going EOL, like the older Capellix and LCD models from Corsair.

This is literally the only video I could find actually comparing them. This guy is the real deal. So sick of everytime I look for reviews/comparisons it's someone just showing photos of the part reading off specs, or just standing next to a PC with the part in it for the whole video without any change in camera angle lol.

So just bought the h150 elite lcd xt over this weekend prior to the video. I’m new to all this water cooling AIO stuff.. last time I built a computer was probably 12-15 years ago. Man.. they’ve come a long way. I have to say, the “icue” and using the fans and LCD screen.. it’s wild. I actually love the lcd screen! Kinda the reason I bought it lol. If you’re going for a fancy pants - all RGB gaming rig, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a tough pill to swallow for the price, but I think it’s wicked

I got the H150i Elite Capillex for dirt cheap on sale last November. Can't complain with the performance. Keeps the CPU running well below my previous AIO. (11700k Idle 23-25°C & Load 45-60°C depending on what I am doing) Picked up the LCD upgrade on sale during the holidays for $75. Love it so far!
Sidenote, I swapped out all the fans in my O11D Evo from Corsair to Lian Li Uni Infinity fans. Even on the cooler. Mainly for less wiring. Went from 20 individuals fan cables to 4 total. Well worth it. Running them on the same fan curves as the ML120s, especially the ones on the cooler, I didn't experience a change in CPU temps at all. Even with less static pressure.
Overall though, the cooler is excellent. Those "new" prices are a hard pill to swallow though.

one thing not mentioned here between the ML and AF fans (and a huge deal breaker) MLs use Magnetic Levitation vs the Fluid Dynamic Bearings on the AFs, this matters cz Fluid Bearing fans usually dont last anywhere near as long, I have the older ML 140 RGB fans and have had them for several years now with no issues, but any fluid bearing type fan from corsair or other brands usually started to fail within 2-3 years. I wouldnt trust the AFs, not especially as an exhaust fan (hot air from GPU can dry out the bearings much quicker)

I love the Elite Capellix XT coolers, and I love that they work off an included Commander Core XT. My cases all use six fans in total, so they can all be managed off that Commander Core. It makes installation quite straightforward and management very easy, even with all the wires involved in RGB fans. Plus the newer four-point AM4/AM5 mounting setup is SO much easier than the old one they had that used the standard AMD clips, that was such a nightmare. I used to swear by Corsair ML fans, but the AF Elites do a great job and subjectively they seem quieter.

There’s another chapter in the Corsair Elite series: they’re rolling out updated RGB Elite versions of the 4000D Airflow and 5000D airflow with the RGB AF fans plus mounts on the PSU shroud for airflow for the graphics card. Will this warrant a side-by-side build comparison between the original and updated cases with the same PC components to see whether the Elite has become better in any way?

For any AIO I'd love to see a comparison between the stock fans and "Noctua NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000 PWM", because just from the datasheet alone, they're quieter, have a much higher air flow and a much higher static pressure while using "only" 1.2W. Biggest advantage: standard connectors and no RGB BS (which you could add with the "Phanteks Halos Lux Frame" if you really want RGB).

I have a question about iCue's CPU/RAM usage and please correct me if I'm wrong. With iCue you have the software that controls everything, if someone were to decide to buy a different brand AIO or/and different control software for RGB, how much software do you need to install to control that "non-Corsair" configuration and how much CPU/RAM will that eventually use? I would say that any setup needs software. Going for different brands might even end up using more software. Please your opinion and experience is appreciated.

Shortly after purchasing this icue Elite Capellix XT and the extra LCD Display Pump, with all of this hype about future upgradability coming, Corsair decides to come out with a whole new better line of similar products which are far better with a whole lot of upgradability and hasn't come out with one thing for it in a year..
Plus, none of our stuff crosses over (if I'm getting this straight) to the new stuff and vice versa.
For instance - Not being able to use the new VRM Fan attatchment (even if I wanted to purchase the new hub) on my icue h150 capellix xt less then 1 year after purchasing is downright thievery.

If it was just lighting design and ease/cleanliness of installation it would have to be Corsair for me. The Icue Link version (no LCD screen) has probably the prettiest pump-lighting out there and the way they hide the pump cables and give you a foolproof system to slot the fans into each other and all that is simply outstanding. And while Lian Li's Uni/INF fans will offer a similar system to lock the fans together, their AiOs still have a bunch of cables coming off the waterblock, making things messy and a bit ugly.
All that said: The price of the Corsair AiOs made me look elsewhere almost immediately. I'll take a bit of "ugliness" and inconvenience if it means I can save up to $/€100 while still getting the same, or probably better, cooling performance.

@@Combaticon Yeah, those QL120 fans are purely for aesthetic appeal. They have mediocre cooling performance. They don't have high enough RPM neither. If you are going to get Corsair fans for cooling and some fantastic appeal, just get the LL RGB fans. But if you don't care for appeal, get those Noctua fans dude.

So is the only difference between the XT and the non-XT the ML and AL fans?? They put so many coolers out with so many similar names. And I’m not a newbie. I’ve been in this game building almost 20 years. I’m well versed in air, aio, and custom loops. But man corsairs naming, frequent refreshes, and lack of listing performance specifications is confusing. I had to dig to find what elite xt vs elite ( no xt).

Right, it's big thing that sits "IN THE BACK OF YOUR PC". again, "THE BACK OF YOUR PC" along with all the wires and cords that sit back of the pc so they can't ber seen. I don't get what the deal is. Plus, both the RGB and the fans are being connected to one unit as oppsed to two seperate units like before or others still and you can connect up to 6 fans! It's great! So, what's the issue with it? Plus, if you showed the software or used it you would know you can change the image disply by 90 degrees each time for whatever positi0on you want. But you don't show how it all works or installs. Do you get paid by corsair to show this btw? Thanks...
