I took a test to reveal which good and bad bugs are living in my mouth.
The Bristle oral health at-home kit involves spitting into a tube for scientific analysis. The results then dictate personalized recommendations for products, hygiene habits, supplements and diet with a goal of treating “the root cause” of issues like tooth decay, bad breath, receding gums and more.

In this video, I tell you about my test experience, show you my results (!), play you my interview with Bristle’s co-founder David Lin, and outline my likes - as well as dislikes - about the Bristle test.

They don't do this in the UK? I spent loads of time watching this getting excited listening to an English accent and assuming that you wouldn't do this with you unless it was accessible to those of us in the UK?

Wonderful - thanks for this video. This is all new to me, but sounds so ‘right’. I cringed a bit when I first saw that you were reviewing the test, concerned that you might find fault with it, which you did but just a little. I’ve ordered my test thru the link you provided 😊

Very interesting - because of such a tough life my Oral Health is in tough places & constantly read about the Gut Microbiome but never thought about the Oral Microbiome. Recently read Tim Spector's 'Food For Life' & he doesn't specifically rate Zylitol added in foods or I presume has a Gum. Its fascinating to understand the implications of our Oral Health integrating our overall health.

Thanks for watching David. That’s interesting about xylitol. I shall have to have a look into what Tim said. Best wishes :)

Thank you for posting about the availability of this test! If anyone from New York wants to get this test then reply to this comment and I will try and connect with you. I have a PO Box in Mass. and can give that to you to use as a shipping address - and then I will mail you your test for whatever it costs to cover mailing costs for me. I am so sick and tired of New York's closed minded rules that prevent people from empowering themselves to be their own best medical advocate.
If you want to learn more about the oral micrbiome and how it relates to your overall health please look up Dr. Debbie Ozment and her podscast called Vitality Made Simple.

Great point! I've found this article which seems helpful in discerning the difference between good and bad... www.eatingwell.com/article/7959424/what-are-nitrates-are-they-bad-for-your-health/

Great overview and interview. Have the probiotic tablets, looks very promising: Q: As Xylitol is well known antimicrobial, what's to prevent Xylitol from wiping out the good bacteria with the bad, and negating the benefits of the probiotic Bristle chewables? Maybe I missed something...

Not a review. This video is a profit-making venture. Not an unbiased review. She's being paid by the manufacturer of the product.

Hi there, I can assure you that Bristle did not pay me a sum to create, produce, edit, or publish this video. Transparency matters to me. As I stated in this video, Bristle sent me the test kit for free to review, along with an affiliate code for a viewer discount. That means I receive a small amount if someone chooses to use the code, supporting my work without costing viewers extra. It's like a 'referral income' for my efforts in reviewing the item. My reviews are honest. I share both my likes and dislikes about this product in the video. The description also has a link explaining how I operate with brands. Thanks.
