Excellent!! What a beautiful collaboration of the two groups and Ally the Piper. Hopefully this isn't going to be a "one and done" scenario. Would love to hear and see more! Thank you for a wonderful experience. Heaps of respect to you all!
I came across Wellermen by chance in Italy very recently. Folks, you are truly on top, good, and professional. I loved every song you sang, you were clearly by far the best of the festival context you were in.
This kicks so much ass. Couldn’t be happier with how you all put this together. It’s my favorite shanty and you all did it justice. Great work everyone!
so im familier with this song there exist so many good version of this song already But I know The Wellermen will always blow it out of the park EVEN WITH THAT... Im baffeld how good this version is
This is THE best version of this piece I have ever heard! Everyone's solos were fantastic! When Peter came in with his operatic tone, it caught me off guard in the best way possible! I love when Peter gets to show off his operatic vocals, because they are just that good! Jonny's voice is smooth as butter! Very pleasant tone from him! Sam's tenor is always such a delight, both solo and background. Sam's treble fits so well with everyone else's bass! It's perfect! Lastly, I cannot forget Piper Ally. Her voice is amazing and her accompaniment really kept everything going and it was something else that was pleasant to listen to along with everyone else's vocals! Well done, everyone! This was truly a remarkable collab and it definitely deserves an award!
Oh, my gosh! This was THE BEST cover of "Santiana" I have EVER HEARD! I LOVE the way y'all pronounced SANTIANA! It was so epic-sounding, lol. And I LOVED when the music dropped and it was just y'all's POWERFUL VOICES! And then my FAVORITE PART of the song was when y'all kept repeating the line: "Heave her up and away we'll go, Away Santiana" while adding more voices each time, and I LOVED how it kept crescendoing until near the very end of the song! That was so EPIC! And let's not forget the instruments! The instruments in this song were incredible! BRAVO, Gentlemen! Encore! Encore!
Absolutely glorious! This is going to be played in "repeat" modus for sure 😁. I'm hoping that a Bubble-Head-Video will be released soon! Having listened to it 5 times during breakfast, I now feel thoroughly buoyed up and ready to tackle a day full of exasperating meetings. Awaaay, Santiana!!! Thank you all, Wellermen, Bass Gang, and Ally!
I woke up with this stuck in my head this morning. And I am NOT a morning person! So, job well done. I love this and trying to figure out who I can mug to share it with. 😊😂
This is soo amazing, one of the most unexpected and most amazing collab and cover, keep up the amazing work Bass Gang and Wellerman, Can't for whats next for the both these groups. Once again, this was amazing 😎👍🏻
There once was a ship that put to sea Away, Santiana The name of the ship was The Bully of Tea Along the plains of Mexico. Heave and pull and heave away Away, Santiana The anchor's on board and the cables are stored Along the plains of Mexico. A letter of marque came from the king Away, Santiana To the scummiest vessel I've ever seen Along the plains of Mexico. Leave her, Johnny, leave her, o' Away, Santiana The voyage is done and the winds don't blow Along the plains of Mexico. It's a damn tough life full of toil and strife Away, Santiana And we won't give a damn when we drink our rum Along the plains of Mexico. I thought I heard the old man say Away, Santiana, Tomorrow you will get your pay Along the plains of Mexico. What will we do with a drunken sailor Away, Santiana Shave his belly with a rusty razor Along the plains of Mexico.
I've been listening to this almost non stop for a while now and I can confidently say, this is my favorite arrangement of Santiana I've heard. But there is one thing I'm a bit bummed about. Tomi never really got his opportunity to shine I feel. I get there wasn't really space to give everyone a lead, and I know Tomi did sing the lead with Sam, but I also feel like he quickly got overshadowed. I donno, I understand there probably wasn't much that could be done about this without extending the song a bit, but it's just a little unfortunate.
MAN that was awesome. I absolutely love this version of Santiana. I really love the Home Free version, but they only do it as part of a medley and not the whole song. Most of the other versions I've heard just aren't upbeat enough. Its an epic song that shouldn't be sung as slowly as most do it. Anyway, do you think you guys could consider doing the Scottish shanty, 'Lies An Lurrigan'? My favorite version (so far?) is by the group 'Scatter The Mud' though the second half of the track is instrumental. Here's a link if you want to check it out. All but the title phrase is in English ruclips.net/video/7gCynTHQwbE/видео.html
Well, it rarely gets pronounced that way. It's a folksong; it does what it does. None of it is very historical. Santa Anna lost a leg fighting the French in a completely different war. He didn't sail around Cape Horn. He didn't die in a war. It's just a song. That said, Santa Anna is remarkable for having THREE legs (all artificial) kept in museums. Two of which are in Illinois, but you can't have everything.
It's almost perfect. But leave the female vocals out. A group of men singing bass is not the place for them any more than a male bass belongs singing with the Spice Girls.
Hey everyone! Thank you for all the love, we are soo glad you enjoyed the track- found.ee/santiana
What a pleasure to work with everyone !
We love you guys
It was an absolute pleasure to work with so many talented individuals on this!!! Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out 🥰

absolutely love this ,Mrs H.
Very well thought out and executed song with highs and lulls. Love the addition of the bag pipes at the end.
Ooh i think this is fast becoming my new fave rendition.
If you could somehow combine this with "Santiana meets metal" that would be unstoppable.
I love this song, it’s now even better with you guys doing this
This is really good. I may be listening to this three hours after is was posted, but I'm glad I'm here. Excellent work gentlemen.

The best santiana
Excellent work! It sounds amazing.
Little correction in lyrics; it's not "now pull the yan..." it's "Napoleon of the west.."

I can picture a schooner with a full deck singing as they're heading to Cosa Maya.

Вы самые охрененные -you are the best
Is this on a new CD?
Me:" I'm think im finally tired of sea shanties"
*hears this*
Me: "HEAVE HER UP AND AWAY WE'LL GO, AWAY SANTIANA!!!"
Fucking amazing
Just realizing it’s not “Napoleon of the west they say” chat I might be stuoid
It's pronounced "Santana." It's a contraction of "Santa Anna."
Well, it rarely gets pronounced that way. It's a folksong; it does what it does. None of it is very historical. Santa Anna lost a leg fighting the French in a completely different war. He didn't sail around Cape Horn. He didn't die in a war. It's just a song.
