I’m so in love with your work! I’ve been painting on canvas for years and just switched to digital for children’s illustration… you are the best teacher! I’ve learned so much ❤
Beautiful! Weird coincidence: two days ago I used another tutorial of yours and changed it to make a night forest with fireflies. And NOW you are uploading this? Crazy...
Thank you for this. I wanted to get back into to art and to use Procreate, so your tutorials are perfect for my requirements. This is the first that I’ve tackled, and I have rediscovered my enjoyment of painting, which I lost as a teenager. As a bonus, I forget about my all my worries, and become completely absorbed in what I’m doing, which has set me free. It has been a joyful experience, and I’m happy enough with my version of the Enchanted Forest to use it as a screen saver. Thank you for uploading these tutorials xx
Hi James another awesome painting as always. I have a request. Could you do a very pretty scenic scene with granite rocks sticking up out of the ground in the forefront? I can’t find a good video that isn’t time lapsed and those just suck in my opinion for teaching. And you do such a great job on your videos. Thanks in advanced if you do one.
Hi James. Thank you for sharing such amazing tutorials. I’m stuck on the smudging trees part, my brush barely seems to be picking up any colour to smudge so my trees are too faint, even after dozens of strokes. Do you know what could be causing that? Thank you Lucy
Regardless of it he has a film or glass on his screen, the answer to your question is no, the pencil does not ruin the screen. The tip is made out of a rubbery material and it doesn't scratch the screen.
Hi James thanks for your video first of all, I just discovered you today and I subscribed and I love what you do. I would like to ask what do you think about learning by tutorials of others ? I mean I was trying to get one of yours seeing it and reproducing to my procreate trying to do it as you. My question is, even though I don’t know to do a landscape or an environment with mountains and so on, do you think is better maybe to understand it alone, to do exercises about how a tree is made, trying to memorize and whatever or just to imitate from another like you at the same time without knowing about it ? Because I am struggling sometime woundering I have to learn how to do a tree or to do a tree and stop? And also And I am so curious about you, how did you learn ? Thanks and still great job!
I think practice painting and drawing is all that counts, tutorials are great to follow, but then to progress to figure it out alone after that. I have always drawn since very young and so simply through constant practice have learnt.
Thank you for this awesome new tutorial. I have a question though. Would you be able to to upload the color palette as a .swatches file saved straight from Procreate? When I unzip the palette I’m left with a .json file. It would really make getting the palettes easier in the future if you included a saved Procreate .swatches file.
You’re welcome. I am learning this program. It gets a little frustrating but that is me lol thanks for your teaching I like water color just a hint but I am learning that too worked with acrylic before thanks again
When I put my brush size where you put it, say 15%, it's hardly ever the same size, it's usually much smaller, why is that happening? I go into the brush properties and sometimes the max size is 100% and others it's 1500%, sometimes I can change it to 1500% while others I can't. It's confusing.
So magical. Need to work on my dots and dashes. Unsure if it's me, the Pencil, Procreate. This was so worth getting right. Thanks, James!

Hello. You draw a lot! Your drawings are very cool! Is there any film or glass on your ipad? If not, does the pencil ruin the ipad screen?

Can I ask, do you use paperlike?

It is saved as procreate swatch file straight from procreate, where are you downloading? From your iPad?
Awsome
