Met Gus at ginnie springs a week or 2 ago. I’m an instructor out of Tampa area and what you guys are doing for the scuba world is beyond measure. Much thanks
Very cool!
The more you understand what you're afraid of the less afraid of it you'll be
i’m terrified of the ocean, diving , and large bodies of water as a whole. but i find myself endlessly watching you guys day in and day out. please keep up the great work woody and gus. it’s a pleasure to watch your videos
Same here you couldn't pay me to dive but you guys are cool
Pretty much all of us.
If you haven't you need to visit the South East in the US, beaches in the Mediterranean, almost anywhere in the gulf of Mexico, etc. Anywhere with mostly mild surf and relatively warm water. The South East in the US the water can be even warmer than the Med IME I guess because of the gulf stream. It can change your outlook on the Ocean if you're from places with really big surf, crazy riptides, and colder water which is a lot of the world. If you're still scared maybe just sun bathing is for you lol. But yeah I've met people who grew up in the Pacific NW who hated the Ocean because their surf is much more violent and water very cold like 60 degrees Max who visited beaches in SC and absolutely loved it.
Same here :)
I enjoy the 2nd hand experience :D
I'm pretty much afraid of anything that sounds remotely dangerous!
@@ws8061 i live in florida by the gulf of mexico and still wont dive lmao
You can see in these two cave explorers eyes how much this amazing accomplishment means to them. Especially considering they found this stunning cave essentially in their backyard. I can feel the joy for them.
If you guys really do go, you HAVE to record it, that looks incredible! This is the first one to make me entertain the idea of exploring the world of diving despite my fear of depths. What an absolute treat!
A thumbnail that actually delivered. I have nothing to do with diving but I love this channel.
seeing the grim reaper being placed was cathartic. this is an S Class discovery by these two fellas. the waterfall cavern just existing down there all these years just makes me so happy.
I'd probably cry tears of joy if I had discovered that waterfall in a cave. Would be great if you two could dive this hole =D
They do not have enough experience for a cave like that forril
I know right...wink
@@guu6854 yes they do
@@guu6854 they definitely do Lmao they’ve talked about doing crazier stuff then what was in this video 🤣
@@ballaplayz key word….talked
those guys looked so proud, very wholesome
OMG! I almost got in a wreck from laughter when Gus said wet crack!
I've been up in that area many times and had no clue that was even there lol. Absolutely stunning cave :)
I worked in Logan for one summer which is near to where this cave is located. That’s wild to think that this was the first underwater cavediscovered but it makes sense that it’s in the Northern part of the state.
I couldn’t ever do it. It looks scary af. But I love to live vicariously through these amazing videos. The beautiful is absolutely mind blowing. It’s so stunning that it seems hard to process. To be the first person to see such beauty has to be exhilarating and humbling
That's a wonderful, pristine sanctuary. Imagine discovering it with someone. Cave diving must create some powerful bonds between people.
Not for long after putting it on RUclips....
Finding a waterfall in general is mystical but to find one in a cave must be epic!
Come to the southern u.s. most caves here have waterfalls. Many hundreds of feet tall. Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia.
I live in Utah, you guys asked about the temperature of the water. I've been to the cave entrance with someone who was considering diving the cave. The water temp was 43 degrees in august. My friend decided not to dive it as he didn't have a dry suit.
He's not good enough to cave dive
From the days of volunteering to help the ecology studies groups, here in TN, Doe River is routinely around 34 - 36 F all summer for some reason nobody's managed to fully explain. They have to warn people who go rafting that the shock of being overheated/dehydrated if you fall out of the boat can be detrimental...
...AND all us local kids regularly swim in it... in trunks, cut-off jeans, T-shirts... You stick it out with friends until your teeth are chattering and you have trouble breathing... and then break for beer or soda (depending on age group)... haha... ;o)
This is why I want to learn to cave dive. This is absolutely beautiful.
This video is so wholesome 🥺 to watch you two get so excited about a brand new discovered cave is like watching kids at a candy store. Speaks volumes on how passionate you are. I love this!!
If Woody discovers a cave and names it "Dive Talks Deep Wet Hole" I will officially have to get cave certified just to make the pilgrimage there.
I love that Gus is a watch geek ! I wanna see his watch collection
That looks fantastic, one of my favorite caves I saw on the channel so far! No silt as well!
I cant wait to see you guys dive this cave!
Really EPIC find!!!! Just imagine that you are 1st ever that put his swimsuit and your eyes inside that cave. Incredible!
Hiya Woody & Gus! Non-diver here, found you after going rabbit hole about high altitude climbing funnily enough.
I used to swim competitively but in college I developed severe anxiety and a fear of water (I’m talking full body panic when I tried snorkeling & feeling like I was going to be grabbed & dragged to the bottom while trying to swim laps in a clear pool!)
Needless to say I probably won’t be diving in this lifetime, so I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the intelligent, hilarious, educational content y’all create!
Watching your videos I’ve learned SO much and have major respect for the science of diving and the skill that is involved.
I will probably never dive so I appreciate the opportunity to experience these dives as analyzed by experts instead of just watching with my usual inner monologue of “oh look, it’s my personal hell!”
I’m actually a true crime nut and I wanted to ask if you would consider covering the 2013 LAPD’s dive into the La Brea Tar Pits?
Sgt. Dave Mascarenas used a dry suit (I think?) to attempt to recover evidence from a 2011 cold case which had been tossed into the tar. Not much on RUclips about it but there are some articles and a couple of in-depth podcast episodes which actually interview Dave!

That's amazing. Also...."Dive Talks wet hole" has a nice ring to it 🤣
Wow that looked soo beautiful.. I would love to watch Gus and woody explore that wet Hole!!
Woody is so funny and Gus reacting to woody is hilarious. I think he should be able to make it whatever he wants. You two together are a trip !!!!!
Can't wait to see you guys dive that cave. Looks beautiful.
OMG guys, please do this one and make a great video to show us your adventure!!! I have a fear of under water caves but I live through your videos . Keep it going xoxo
I love how well Woody can keep a straight face when making dirty jokes 😂 I’d be busting up hahaha
You guys are awesome. I've went from someone that use to watch cave videos and almost have a full blown, chlostrophibic, anxiety attack to someone who wants to go cave diving so so So badly! Thanks for all of the awesome videos, and knowledge! Have a good one guys.
4:18 the one thing (out of many) that I love about the whole cave diving thing is seeing the little air pockets on the top like this. It reminds me of liquid metal or mercury so pretty! Also you can see the flow of water with it too. Love it!
Right?
I know Wendell. He’s an all around awesome guy and amazing diver. This is just one of many of the incredible dives he’s been a part of.
Wow what an amazing place, but the best part of watching this for me was seeing both your reactions to it.🧐😲😍🤗😂😂😂
What an amazing cave that is absolutely beautiful I really just can't get over the underground waterfall that's crazy
Getting through the cave, finding a waterfall inside, only a cursed frog-Prince is missing, amazing find
That looks amazing! Can’t wait for you guys to explore and film your adventure!
you guys should do an episode with them, would be interesting to hear what they say, im sure woody has a book worth of questions for them
AMAZING! The video. The story. The divers. and your reactions.
As the video progressed, my smile just got bigger and bigger. I could practically tie it behind my head.
Cool video I have seen dry caves where people go in the caves and explore!
I live vicariously through your stories of diving thank you two.
What a beautiful adventure and find!!
amazing people, you should do a podcast with them!
I cannot imagine the giddiness they must have felt to be discovering this beautiful hidden paradise!
Hey Woody and Gus! I went for my first "dive" yesterday (only 2 m deep), and it was insanely fun! Breathing underwater is actually really mind-blowing. Hopefully I'll soon be doing my open water cert, and I'm really excited. Thanks for all the dive-related content you guys make, love the vids!
Good luck 👍 💓
If you find 2 meters fun, waiting until you get to 40 meters. It’s awesome 👌
Hope you survive

Woody really wanna go dive in those holes, I’m just imagining woody’s face when he sees the waterfall! Awesome video guys, congrats Gus and congrats woody I’m not a diver but I’m going to get certified as a one soon, thank you for great content! Keep doing what you do, Gus a darle con todo, espero poder conocerlos algún día!
Woody wants to get in them holes so bad.
Excelente!!!
There's a cave here in the Texas hill country that's mostly dry but has a few lakes deep in the cave. The water is cold though from what I've been told and access is severely limited but the group I'm with has access to the the full length of the cave which is ten miles. We're planning to dive that lake and see what's in it though I'll likely be the safety guy on the edge since I don't have the gear for it yet. It's not a deep cave just long. I just want to see what's living in the water since the rest of the cave has life which is why it's not open to the public except the first few hundred yards.
It'll also be part of our search and rescue training which involves a lot of cave work since there's areas here where you step off a trail in a state park and fall into a cave.
Not quite cave diving [yet] but it's a step in that direction training wise.
@S M it's about a hour from Austin, I can't name the cave since it's not generally public knowledge beyond what's open to the public that get guided tours.
There's thousands of caves west of Austin most small and unexplored at least in the last hundred years. A lot of the old west stage coach robbers and Indians hid in these caves so there's always potential to find gold and artifacts within them. There's two big stashes of gold somewhere around here from robberies that was never recovered even after the capture of the robbers. Needless to say every time I stumble upon a cave or hole big enough to fit something in a look. It helps knowing where one of the major stage coach trails is and access to a big part of it, one area looks promising but it's a ravine loaded with rattlesnakes making it a risky exploration. But that makes it a great spot to hide the gold since people are afraid to go there including the rancher that's had that land in the family for over a hundred years. They've never set foot in that ravine since they bought it.
If you're into dry caves Colorado bend state park has a lot but they require you to be with cave groups they know to explore and there's hundreds of miles of caves unexplored due to bad air and other physical factors. That park is also in the Texas hill country about two hours from Austin.
@@JamesSmullins can you explain the bad air? Is it because deep caves release gases?
@@XiraKira13 its the level of oxygen in the cave, it gets low and can cause many issues similar to the martini effect when diving. You carry a Bic lighter with you and when the flame gets really high its time to back up.
About the only thing in this area that can poison air is Sulphur but you're going to smell that long before it's a issue. Most well water hear has it including mine and there's a Sulphur spring that they ran a pipe from into a swimming pool. Stinks but otherwise harmless though it's a constant 72 degrees which feels cold in the summer when you first jump in.
The spring itself is blocked so people can't crawl in.
@@JamesSmullins That's.. a risky way to test air. Especially if there might be methane from coal seeps, or biogenic. If there's sulfur around, HS is a huge risk. Although it reeks, it also rapidly shuts down a sense of smell, and then your lungs. So "Do you smell that?" then "Nope", and then unconsciousness and death. So general safety for any dry, wet or semi-dry cave is take a proper, certified air quality test and alarm. Especially if you'll end up doing cave rescue, like cavers who ran into a pocket of HS. Also a general O2 gauge because depending on conditions, oxidation of minerals can lower oxygen content. Often air quality issues happen in cave systems like this were there's wet-dry-wet sections if there's limited air circulation between the rest of the system.
@@brolohalflemming7042 while there is a chance of Sulphur its low, as I said it's the only potential contaminate in this area.
The crew I'm training with knows the one cave they've come across it quite well and use that area as a training ground so others learn the signs of bad air by watching those up fronts actions. That cave isn't bad due to Sulphur. This is all part of search and rescue training. Most caves that go any distance have two entries so air flow is good but a couple don't or at least not discovered yet.
If they had to search that cave they would take o2 tanks to go deeper but for training that edge is as far as they go.
And most caves are dry here, higher ground and very few springs exist around here so it's rain seeping in or entering holes that puts water in the few that have it. Caves in west Texas would be different as there's more risk of other gases entering since that's oil country but you don't hear about many caves out that way since it's so flat.
I live in Utah, and after seeing this video I 100% want to get certified so that I can visit this beauty. How incredible!
Yea you are beautiful too
The part where Gus talked about how awesome it is to come out of the water literally inside a mountain and see a waterfall... on point!
This video is great and you guys are awesome, and so are all your guests. I will get training from you guys one day soon. Spreading dive talk in Orange County ✌🏻
Awww these guys are awesome, so cool 💕
Adventure twins or whatever they're called recently found a weird looking waterfall in a flooded cave they were in recently. But it was a weird one because it wasn't funneling down the side. It was more like a water pipe a hundred feet up broke and it was just showering water down. It didn't have the beauty of a normal waterfall but it would have been awesome to see it in person. But that'll never happen because of my claustrophobia. That's why I have yall who bring us the adrenaline needed!
whenever you see someone talk about a successful safe cave dive, they always have such a huge smile basically cemented on their faces the whole time. Must be amazing
Amazing cave!!! Omg 😱
I love how excited and passionate they look, look at the pure joy and pride in their eyes. Excellent.
Just saw the live trip to Colorado woody. Just became a member. Would love to meet you and Gus plus get certified from yall and eventually certified on the KISS rebreathers and when I'm properly trained. Hopefully one day a cave dive together. Love you guys! Hope yall are having an amazing day! 👏
so incredibly fascinating
Wow! I'm claustrophobic and terrified of the water so this is amazing to be able to see!
I’m absolutely terrified of dying/swimming in the cave like this but and super intrigued by this type of exploration and your videos? I could’ve never imagine myself watching these types of video but here I am a new sub 😅
I kayak the logan river right by that spring. Never imagined there would be a cave system like that underneath it. The place is called ricks springs and we use that parking lot to launch our kayaks down an awesome section of whitewater. Lots of people go up to the view point and some play in the water there. This is awesome.
Can we stay at your house when we go dive it? 😂
@@DIVETALK I live in Salt Lake which is three hours from Logan so not the best basecamp XD. If you fly in late or something and need a place to crash for the night you are welcome to lol
3:14 watching all 4 diver's reactions as he's explaining the corkscrew float drop was so awesome haha
Beautiful video. It would be amazing. Hope you guys get to go. It would make for a Killer Adventure and Great Video. Maybe Woody could talk to the Alien Fish inside. You know there has to be. Keep him honest Gus. Lol
Shout out to you guys for being awesome.
Utah is gorgeous 😍 This is just the icing on the cake!!
Its been awhile since i've come to your channel but its so great to see your subscriber count, you deserve it with all the knowledge you share with us.
Been watching your channel for a year or 2 finally getting certified thanks for planting the seed an providing motivation
I'm at a loss to describe how amazing that is how truly lucky they are. I can't wait until I can go myself someday but like you guys all say I have to get proper training first! Great video and thanks for exposing these beautiful wonders.
Wow that water was amazing, so clear!!!! Can’t wait to watch your video of it 🤞🤟💙.
It's pretty high altitude, but seems fairly shallow, I may have missed it but did they say how deep it is? Little tight but no silt, awesome cave. Thanks for sharing it with us.
i love this! they are so proud to have found that, so beautiful. the thought of diving is terrifying to me. but if Woody and Gus trained me i may consider it. lol
1st place I've ever seen WITHOUT LITTER
The entrance at the surface is absolutely beautiful too!! Imagine camping there a few days.
This is just glorious heaven on earth. The wonders of this little blue rock we live in is amazing.
This was the first video that I just couldn't stop smiling along with y'all.
I am not a diver and I am not really sure why I'm subscribed to his channel but that was AMAZING! So beautiful. This non-diver is obsessed with these videos.
Holy moly!! It's beautiful and awesome enough already. Then you thrown in all the rooms and walking around and then WATERFALLS! Are you kidding me?!!! Would love to see y'all dive this and film it. What a blast. Thanks for sharing it and thanks to whoever suggested it. I gotta watch it again.
I'm not a diver but I seem to love all your videos, your content is awesome 👍😎
The excitement you guys have for all of diving is what makes this channel more than anything else - but I'm including chemistry/bromance in excitement category. Great reaction and you guys should try to dive with the original guys who found it. Get Edd to come since they probably know him, too.
Wow! That was top-shelf and kudos to the USGS Rep who kept this a secret until the right folks came along to properly document and explore it! Incredible!!!
Thx for sharing!
Oh wow! I would love to see Woody and Gus dive this cave, but that is waaaayy too cold 🥶.
That is an incredible cave, I would love to see it in person. Unfortunately I will never get that opportunity. It is definitely too tight to use a seascooter and without one I can't dive. Being a quadriplegic cave diving is almost impossible to do safely.
Congrats on how much your channel has grown. Ive been watching for almost a year now.
I honestly hate reaction videos, but these guys have quite a cool subject to cover each time I watch their reactions.
Thanks Gus, Thanks Woody! Keep these videos rolling out love the content!
so cool to see you guys growing so fast!!
Woody's love for holes, both wet and dry, will never cease to amuse me
Absolutely beautiful and incredible! This channel is so going to get me hooked on diving. I have to be trained ASAP!
Please make your trip happen and fully document the entire dive. Can't wait to see it!
This is Ricks Spring! I drive by it all the time! Logan canyon has a bunch of dry caves as well.
I live in utah and I had no idea this even existed, logan is close the the idaho border, still too afraid to go diving in general but man that is gorgeous
That's such a cool thing to find, you can see the satisfaction/happiness Wendell and Richard are feeling describing it all. Between that and the excitement i could feel from you two, this is a video that made me smile.
Definitely one of my top 10 favorite videos on all of RUclips and I’ve seen a few
Grand praise indeed!! A round of applause from to great divers to two great divers. 👏
OMG, that is amazing.... its like little bits of all the best places in Cave Country in one place....I'm doing Full Cave in November so if you guys go next year, hit me up
Very beautiful. I'm not going. I don't cave, I don't dive, and I don't cave dive.
However, I'll let you guys do it, and take pictures for me!
Never even had remote interest in sump diving.......until now
Right?!?!?!

Thank you for making my day daily whenever I'm able to watch you. Thank you so much for the videos you deserve so much. Someday maybe if I were to ever dive my dream is to drive with you too.
I love your passion guys, never change
Gotta question about diving at elevation. Do divers have to adjust their air or mix while diving at high elevations or is water depth the only factor in what to use for breathing?
Decompression algorithm changes with altitude. Altitude can affect gas choice too.
This is one of my favorite videos as to date. How amazing is this!!
That Thumbnail though!! #killingit
You guys are so awesome. I hope you guys make it large. I know these videos are a lot of work, but I hope you understand you've saved thousands of lives just by educating.
