Unfortunately, I have neither the money, the time, nor the physical requirements to do it. You guys were my very first look into this beautiful world. You introduced me to Doug, Brian, Mike, Edd, the Blue Word team and so many others. These amazing people have become my heroes. While I love the humor and especially all the stuff I've learned as a non diver, your videos of the crystal caves, this video and others like it have given me an inner peace and joy that I never knew I needed. Thank you for expressing my own thoughts. I’m terribly claustrophobic, tried snorkeling once (blowing out = ok; breathing in = not so much). Woody & Gus allow me to experience this beautiful part of the world.
Now this is right up my alley. Warm water, no current, and the most appealing thing about it: no decompression. This has got to be the recreational divers dream cave.
Woody, your enthusiasm and sheer joy are so goddamn infectious. I think it’s pretty easy to say I’ve been in a bad mental health place basically ever since the pandemic started. Had a few shallow ups and downs since but never truly broke out, just working day by day, settling for comfort when I can get it. I know it’s where a lot of other people have been, too. I’m not joking when I say you guys have reminded me just how gorgeous this world is, how much there is to see and do, and what it means to actually thrive as a person, just by sharing your own joy with us so genuinely. Cave diving is a corner of the human experience most of us would never get to see and appreciate without channels like these. Thank you so much for sharing what you love with us.

Found this channel 2 weeks ago after watching nutty putty tragedy, and eagles nest dad, and son story and have been watching dive talk pretty much daily. Never dove before but I love this channel. Gus and Woody are just like ambassadors to cave diving. It's got me thinking about doing this.
It's so beautiful to see these two friends and knowing that they have all these experiences that they want to share with each other. Or really want to do together as a preference. Always a joy to watch.

Been watching this channel for close to a year now, if not longer, and I just wanted to extend my thanks. About 2 months ago I had some health issues arise, thankfully nothing super serious but regardless I was in a very difficult spot mentally because of it, and you both we're the guys I watched to wind down and try and keep my mind off of what was going on, it was immense amount of help for me and I cannot thank you guys enough for that, on top of the countless hours of knowledge and wisdom you guys put out there. What's even cooler to me is that I live very close to Eagles Nest, within about 40 minutes of it in fact and I plan on visiting (not diving) it soon. In the future I want to get SUBA certified and do some open water stuff since cave diving is a little much for me because I really really do not like tight spaces. For now I continue doing some really basic on shore freediving where I collect some rare sea shells for my personal collection. Coming from a guy whos primary interest is wilderness and backpacking, to be able to consume the content you guys put out and learn so much useful information and enjoy it so much is definitely a talent that you guys and very few others possess, please please never quit as long as its practical for you guys, this channel is priceless to me and many others. I've just sat here completely hypnotized by that cave. I never thought I'd be excited by a cave system but a combination of this gorgeous footage and then this entire channel's education on cave diving has made me want to do a cave certification so badly.
I absolutely love these reactions videos where you take the time to pause and explain the techniques. I learn so much and feel like I’m a part of the adventure. The cinematography is stunning. Almost makes me want to cave dive!
I was certified Full Cave by Protec in Tulum earlier this year and I must say they are one of the best dive operations in the world. Their staff are fantastic, knowledgeable, skilled and courteous. I've never had a better experience diving anywhere in the world. I can't wait to go back. So glad Woody had a great time down there. Maybe we will run into each other there one day. I've always wanted to meet you guys and go cave diving with you. Keep up the great videos.

Drysuit for me too! There is nothing better for extended watertime. How is the water quality, in terms of infections? I have heard some very bad stories on infections, caused from bakteria in caves, from small scratches...
Part-time reptile wrangler, here... It's worth just pointing out that with climate change, ALL "wild waters" are suspect for harboring bacteria, fungus, and other dubious forms of slimy, gooey, and icky things... To play it safe, as soon as you can, upon emerging from any wild body of water, TAKE A SHOWER, and check yourself over for scratches. It's not that it might or might not be dangerous, just bother to CLEAN and administrate each point of broken skin. Don't discriminate between "bleeding" or not... If the skin's broken, antiseptic wash/scrub, and probably a good point to use some form of antibiotic ointment "just on principle"... It doesn't take much ointment either, especially on the "non-bleeding" breaks... like those little rough patches where you've "barked the hide" but nothing's even sore or leaking... A dab of ointment is all you need. If the thing is "shiny" that's enough... AND of course, keep an eye on things. If something gets unusually sore or hot to the touch, smells "off", starts swelling and turning colors (like red or purple), etc... Don't waste time trying to add to your home treatment... You've tried, so take it to a Doc' or Nurse in a clinic and make notes... It's not that water is particularly more dangerous in Mexico or Florida, either. Someone scratched herself up horse-playing at a waterpark in North Carolina just a year or two ago, and ended up losing stuff to "Flesh eating bacteria"... It's just not worth the risk of waiting to get home or trying out new or more powerful OTC stuff... Unless you KNOW for a fact what you've got, just hit the clinic or your personal regular doctor and present the situation... Even go to E.R. if necessary... Hopefully, you'll only ever get some broad spectrum antibiotics and a "deep cleansing" from the Doc' and that'll be that... I HAVE been known (though I'm a tad hesitant to share this) to take a good warm bath with about a cup of BLEACH in the water... strong enough to "by God smell" and know that if I DO have a "hidden abrasion" or a cut or scratch and haven't noticed... I WILL notice before I'm standing up for the shower to rinse off... AND DO shower off after, if you're going to do this. Chlorine bleach ain't no good long term for your skin... BUT there really isn't much that it won't kill... SO about a 20 minute soak and scrub-down in the bleach-bath can be a perfectly good way to be sure you've administrated EVERY scritch, ding, scratch, cut, abrasion, or rough spot so nothing nasty has hitched a ride to make you miserable later... It's a fairly easy, quick, and effective method (in my experience) to wash up after adventures in "wild waters" where I've been known to chase and catch alligators with just as much enthusiasm as snakes, lizards, and what-not else... It gets rough, and it's easy (for me) to lose track of all the minor dings... AND you DO get dinged up wrangling reptiles. ;o)
@@JoeyOutlaw Always welcome. What with climate change and the steady rise in water temperatures, "Wild waters" are only going to get more dubious for the foreseeable future. I live with spring water and a catch-box with an electric pump feeding into my house. It's still DELICIOUS compared to "City Water" (gags) BUT I do have to regularly go down and test, and occasionally clean out the "spring box"... In any case, if my experience can help anyone, I'm only happy to share and offer helpful (to the best of my ability) advice. It's easier than you'd expect to neglect or forget about a very minor scratch, and not that water is necessarily all that dangerous right now (depending on where you are and the conditions)... BUT the few particularly nasty risks just aren't worth neglecting... A couple cheap little tricks, like bath with bleach to detect "dings", antiseptic attention, and a neosporin (or equivalent) can widen your margins considerably with little or no real inconvenience... AND of course, if it doesn't seem to help in 2 or 3 days, just go see a medical pro'. No need taking unnecessary risks when you don't have to... Chances are it turns out to be a bit of debris stuck or a very mild infection, easily dealt with... maybe a couple weeks on antibiotics after the Doc' cleans and treats the "wound" in question... BUT if it turns out "serious" you've got access to help and are probably well in time to handle it... My mother finally went to the Doc's after 4 days from a particularly contentious feral cat... Turned out "Cat scratch fever" is more than a silly thing made up for a song... AND she was within a day of being beyond medical treatment... just that easily. Not to terrify anyone of cats, either. Just a cautionary note... It's easier than you'd expect to get into trouble... and it can be easy to get back out, IF you act early. ;o)
The cenotes are such a great place to visit, even if you don’t go cave diving. I went there a few years ago and just went swimming and snorkeling in several of them, I had no idea until I saw Jonathan’s video that the caves were so extensive. Great video!
I appreciate that you said cave training changes you. I have not taken any cave training, but watching these videos about cave diving has completely changed the way i approach OW diving and training.
That was the most magical, beautiful, clean clearwater dive that I have ever seen. I would absolutely love love love to go there! Not too deep, perfect size (not having to squish through tight/small sections), completely gorgeous the entire time…WOW!! PLEASE, take me with you! ♥️🇨🇦♥️
I have a friend who recently got certified. The way he talks about diving is _so attractive_ that I'm considering learning. This friend knows me _very well,_ so he speaks with an enthusiasm meant to encourage me to follow him, kind of like how Woody talks to Gus here! Watching this video, wow, I have no words! Is this video possibly a _better_ quality than reality? Do certified cave divers have a personal limit of the distance between ceiling & floor that they're comfortable with? Is it a required part of certification to dive in very close quarters?

I’m just looking into starting diving and caves and overheads aren’t really something that I wanna do that being said places like this seriously make me consider getting trained for caves and give it a go .. this looks amazing 🤩
Worth pointing out that unless you're planning to go Exploring (which is a different cert', too), you don't have to get into places that are particularly tight. There are caves to visit that don't require dismantling equipment or pushing and squeezing or wriggling around restrictions particularly difficult... Some "tight spaces" maybe, but generally you CAN determine your comfort level and just set limits... Just starting out? Maybe stick to open waters and occasional dips into confines or looking into cavernous places until you're really ready to make that progress...
Fantastic photography! I would love to be able to go in that cave. A photo of one of those pictures would be an awesome screen saver or phone wallpaper. I love the rock formations in that cave. Rope is so much better than years ago. Think about all the people clipped on the line going to Everest. There's an example of how strong ropes are now. The line you guys use reminds me of fly fishing line. It's about impossible to break fly line. Big thank you for sharing this amazing video Woody and Gus!
I got to go to the Yucatan twice as a kid, to see Chichen Itza and Tulum, and we got to do a good amount of snorkelling because my family was really into it at the time. The cenotes were completely mindblowing. We got to snorkel in one that was right next to this one restaurant I remember, and where you got into the water was right above a cave entrance. I remember being so astounded at how clear the water was, and how deep it was right where we got in. There were manatees! And we got to see a pair of divers heading into the cave. 've always remembered how impressive it was that they were not only diving where I could merely snorkel, but diving into the cave itself. I never imagined that some day I'd be able to watch all these incredibly high quality videos of the insides of those caves and others, let alone with literal world class commentary. Bravo, you guys.
You got to love, Woody! I’ve never even snorkeled, but I could listen to you guys talk all day. It looks amazing, but I’m kind of afraid of those caves.
Never have gone diving, but after watching your channel so much over the last month, I think I've found an inspiring new hobby to gain some amazing skills and experiences with. Hopefully by the end of this year I can be on the way to getting certified to do things like this.

I'm a big fan of your videos and just got into diving a few years ago. Have you guys considered putting together a "so you want to be a cave diver" video? Given your experience, you could put together a series of recommendations to connect the dots between the OW cert and finding a cave diving program and what certs/skills one should/could get along the way. This is a video I would personally find super useful.
I'm not Gus or Woody but I'll chime in since you seem to be interested. I highly recommend after OW you find an instructor who IS a cave diver and who teaches recreational courses as well. How to find such instructor? You will need to talk to a few until you "click" with an instructor. The sooner you begin to dive like a cave diver (not on your knees... not vertical in the water), the smoother your transition into tech equipment and into cave will be.
So beautiful. Makes me want to get cave certified. To be able to experience the beauty of these caves is amazing just to see on video and almost brings me to tears. To be actually there has got to be indescribable.
Hi Dive Talk, ive been watching alot of your videos lately, and i find them really fascinating. Ive never been diving, or ever really thought about doing it. Ive recently been playing a video game called subnautica which is underwater game. For some reason the game has compelled me to find out more about diving. There are points where just the unfathomable void of water above you and the feeling of being a grain of sand in this almost infinite abyss really strike a chord with me. Im not sure i would be brave enough to do cave diving, as im not sure i would find it enjoyable, so maybe i will look into just normal diving at some point. I really like your videos and its great to see the relationship between Gus and Woody! The relaxed format but also the indepth detail and knowledge is what keeps me coming back! Thanks for sharing!

Man this brings me back. I went to Tulum as a schooltrip in highschool. Absolutely loved it! Now, it wasn't cavediving we did, none of us was certified for that but we did some guided caverndives with certified cavedivers and it was soooo beautiful!
Wow looks amazing, it's crazy to think that they have explored 251 miles of cave and haven't even done 1/4 of the cave systems. Also to think you could dive these caves for the rest of your life and not see the same place twice. So Woody and Gus when should we expect your videos from these caves? lol
Started diving a few years back and told myself I would never get my ice diving or cave diving certs. Got my ice diving cert just before covid. And your videos are really starting to make cave diving look amazing. Maybe some day... Still got a lot more learning to do first..

I went snorkeling at Cenote Dos Ojos in Mexico with my family and it was so much fun! I highly recommend it, I want to go back so much!! I did a little bit of free diving before our tour group started and I remember looking up through the water and how clear and beautiful it was. I didn’t have any weights or anything so I couldn’t stay down for long but it was so amazing!!

The comment about line thickness is interesting. In the UK we line our caves really differently. Because it's so cold (7-10c) and your usually in a wetsuit as you have had to do dry caving to get to the dive handling thin line is really hard when your hands are in 5mm gloves and numb. We also have a lot of small silty caves so you expect to be holding the line on the way out. We also don't have issues with open water divers entering them as you have to cave and even then almost every dive is a SM dive with small cylinders. All this means we lay thick line usually 6mm but in caves that get flooded in winter, it could be 10mm caving rope or even steel cable on chain. We also lay all line from air surface so you dont need to line in and use junctions not jumps again so you don't need spools just markers and there is less faff on exit in low viz.
Never thought about cave diving before, but have open water dived in Honduras and if cave diving can be that beautiful then maybe I should seek training. Thanks for your awesome videos guys!!
Woody if you want shots like on blue world you need a wide angle lens on your camera, like 35mm or less focal length. Also maybe a polarizing filter to cut out reflections in the water? Hope that helps! 🙃

I used to explore caves when I was younger as a Boy Scout. We would repel in, then rock climb out.... Beautiful, beautiful caves, then of course all the public caves, Mammoth, Ruby Falls, Lost Sea, more than I can remember. Now you are showing me Cenotes and Spring fed caves.... SOLD... Sign me up... You just have to show me some caves with fish and sharks (that we can dive...), and I will be completely set. 😉😊 Thanks for the video and commentary.

the same nylon rope you use in caves we actually use in the tree industry for throw balls to put ropes in trees, and sometimes we even just use them to pull trees over with the like 5mm line. this line is way stronger then most people realize, and also real ropes under tention which you guys describe pulling all the slack out, thick ropes are a lot easier to cut and frey on jagged edges.

I've just sat here completely hypnotized by that cave. I never thought I'd be excited by a cave system but a combination of this gorgeous footage and then this entire channel's education on cave diving has made me want to do a cave certification so badly.
Love the idea of you guys doing a residency there for a month. That would be awesome for you guys and the the viewers!

I was certified Full Cave by Protec in Tulum earlier this year and I must say they are one of the best dive operations in the world. Their staff are fantastic, knowledgeable, skilled and courteous. I've never had a better experience diving anywhere in the world. I can't wait to go back. So glad Woody had a great time down there. Maybe we will run into each other there one day. I've always wanted to meet you guys and go cave diving with you. Keep up the great videos.

Drysuit for me too! There is nothing better for extended watertime. How is the water quality, in terms of infections? I have heard some very bad stories on infections, caused from bakteria in caves, from small scratches...
Part-time reptile wrangler, here... It's worth just pointing out that with climate change, ALL "wild waters" are suspect for harboring bacteria, fungus, and other dubious forms of slimy, gooey, and icky things... To play it safe, as soon as you can, upon emerging from any wild body of water, TAKE A SHOWER, and check yourself over for scratches. It's not that it might or might not be dangerous, just bother to CLEAN and administrate each point of broken skin. Don't discriminate between "bleeding" or not... If the skin's broken, antiseptic wash/scrub, and probably a good point to use some form of antibiotic ointment "just on principle"...
It doesn't take much ointment either, especially on the "non-bleeding" breaks... like those little rough patches where you've "barked the hide" but nothing's even sore or leaking... A dab of ointment is all you need. If the thing is "shiny" that's enough...
AND of course, keep an eye on things. If something gets unusually sore or hot to the touch, smells "off", starts swelling and turning colors (like red or purple), etc... Don't waste time trying to add to your home treatment... You've tried, so take it to a Doc' or Nurse in a clinic and make notes...
It's not that water is particularly more dangerous in Mexico or Florida, either. Someone scratched herself up horse-playing at a waterpark in North Carolina just a year or two ago, and ended up losing stuff to "Flesh eating bacteria"... It's just not worth the risk of waiting to get home or trying out new or more powerful OTC stuff... Unless you KNOW for a fact what you've got, just hit the clinic or your personal regular doctor and present the situation... Even go to E.R. if necessary... Hopefully, you'll only ever get some broad spectrum antibiotics and a "deep cleansing" from the Doc' and that'll be that...
I HAVE been known (though I'm a tad hesitant to share this) to take a good warm bath with about a cup of BLEACH in the water... strong enough to "by God smell" and know that if I DO have a "hidden abrasion" or a cut or scratch and haven't noticed... I WILL notice before I'm standing up for the shower to rinse off... AND DO shower off after, if you're going to do this. Chlorine bleach ain't no good long term for your skin... BUT there really isn't much that it won't kill... SO about a 20 minute soak and scrub-down in the bleach-bath can be a perfectly good way to be sure you've administrated EVERY scritch, ding, scratch, cut, abrasion, or rough spot so nothing nasty has hitched a ride to make you miserable later... It's a fairly easy, quick, and effective method (in my experience) to wash up after adventures in "wild waters" where I've been known to chase and catch alligators with just as much enthusiasm as snakes, lizards, and what-not else... It gets rough, and it's easy (for me) to lose track of all the minor dings... AND you DO get dinged up wrangling reptiles. ;o)

@@JoeyOutlaw Always welcome. What with climate change and the steady rise in water temperatures, "Wild waters" are only going to get more dubious for the foreseeable future. I live with spring water and a catch-box with an electric pump feeding into my house. It's still DELICIOUS compared to "City Water" (gags) BUT I do have to regularly go down and test, and occasionally clean out the "spring box"...
In any case, if my experience can help anyone, I'm only happy to share and offer helpful (to the best of my ability) advice. It's easier than you'd expect to neglect or forget about a very minor scratch, and not that water is necessarily all that dangerous right now (depending on where you are and the conditions)... BUT the few particularly nasty risks just aren't worth neglecting...
A couple cheap little tricks, like bath with bleach to detect "dings", antiseptic attention, and a neosporin (or equivalent) can widen your margins considerably with little or no real inconvenience... AND of course, if it doesn't seem to help in 2 or 3 days, just go see a medical pro'. No need taking unnecessary risks when you don't have to... Chances are it turns out to be a bit of debris stuck or a very mild infection, easily dealt with... maybe a couple weeks on antibiotics after the Doc' cleans and treats the "wound" in question... BUT if it turns out "serious" you've got access to help and are probably well in time to handle it...
My mother finally went to the Doc's after 4 days from a particularly contentious feral cat... Turned out "Cat scratch fever" is more than a silly thing made up for a song... AND she was within a day of being beyond medical treatment... just that easily.
Not to terrify anyone of cats, either. Just a cautionary note... It's easier than you'd expect to get into trouble... and it can be easy to get back out, IF you act early. ;o)

The cenotes are such a great place to visit, even if you don’t go cave diving. I went there a few years ago and just went swimming and snorkeling in several of them, I had no idea until I saw Jonathan’s video that the caves were so extensive. Great video!
I appreciate that you said cave training changes you. I have not taken any cave training, but watching these videos about cave diving has completely changed the way i approach OW diving and training.
That was the most magical, beautiful, clean clearwater dive that I have ever seen. I would absolutely love love love to go there! Not too deep, perfect size (not having to squish through tight/small sections), completely gorgeous the entire time…WOW!! PLEASE, take me with you!

I have a friend who recently got certified. The way he talks about diving is _so attractive_ that I'm considering learning. This friend knows me _very well,_ so he speaks with an enthusiasm meant to encourage me to follow him, kind of like how Woody talks to Gus here! Watching this video, wow, I have no words! Is this video possibly a _better_ quality than reality? Do certified cave divers have a personal limit of the distance between ceiling & floor that they're comfortable with? Is it a required part of certification to dive in very close quarters?

I am so glad I found this channel. Haven't ever been diving before but it seems like I found the right people to gain knowledge from! (Loved seeing the Beardstown FD shirts in previous videos as I spent a couple years there as a kid)
I’m just looking into starting diving and caves and overheads aren’t really something that I wanna do that being said places like this seriously make me consider getting trained for caves and give it a go .. this looks amazing 🤩
Worth pointing out that unless you're planning to go Exploring (which is a different cert', too), you don't have to get into places that are particularly tight. There are caves to visit that don't require dismantling equipment or pushing and squeezing or wriggling around restrictions particularly difficult... Some "tight spaces" maybe, but generally you CAN determine your comfort level and just set limits...
Just starting out? Maybe stick to open waters and occasional dips into confines or looking into cavernous places until you're really ready to make that progress...

Fantastic photography! I would love to be able to go in that cave. A photo of one of those pictures would be an awesome screen saver or phone wallpaper. I love the rock formations in that cave. Rope is so much better than years ago. Think about all the people clipped on the line going to Everest. There's an example of how strong ropes are now. The line you guys use reminds me of fly fishing line. It's about impossible to break fly line. Big thank you for sharing this amazing video Woody and Gus!
I got to go to the Yucatan twice as a kid, to see Chichen Itza and Tulum, and we got to do a good amount of snorkelling because my family was really into it at the time. The cenotes were completely mindblowing. We got to snorkel in one that was right next to this one restaurant I remember, and where you got into the water was right above a cave entrance. I remember being so astounded at how clear the water was, and how deep it was right where we got in. There were manatees! And we got to see a pair of divers heading into the cave. 've always remembered how impressive it was that they were not only diving where I could merely snorkel, but diving into the cave itself. I never imagined that some day I'd be able to watch all these incredibly high quality videos of the insides of those caves and others, let alone with literal world class commentary. Bravo, you guys.

I'm a big fan of your videos and just got into diving a few years ago. Have you guys considered putting together a "so you want to be a cave diver" video? Given your experience, you could put together a series of recommendations to connect the dots between the OW cert and finding a cave diving program and what certs/skills one should/could get along the way. This is a video I would personally find super useful.
I'm not Gus or Woody but I'll chime in since you seem to be interested. I highly recommend after OW you find an instructor who IS a cave diver and who teaches recreational courses as well. How to find such instructor? You will need to talk to a few until you "click" with an instructor. The sooner you begin to dive like a cave diver (not on your knees... not vertical in the water), the smoother your transition into tech equipment and into cave will be.
So beautiful. Makes me want to get cave certified. To be able to experience the beauty of these caves is amazing just to see on video and almost brings me to tears. To be actually there has got to be indescribable.

Hi Dive Talk, ive been watching alot of your videos lately, and i find them really fascinating. Ive never been diving, or ever really thought about doing it. Ive recently been playing a video game called subnautica which is underwater game. For some reason the game has compelled me to find out more about diving. There are points where just the unfathomable void of water above you and the feeling of being a grain of sand in this almost infinite abyss really strike a chord with me. Im not sure i would be brave enough to do cave diving, as im not sure i would find it enjoyable, so maybe i will look into just normal diving at some point.
I really like your videos and its great to see the relationship between Gus and Woody! The relaxed format but also the indepth detail and knowledge is what keeps me coming back! Thanks for sharing!

Man this brings me back. I went to Tulum as a schooltrip in highschool. Absolutely loved it! Now, it wasn't cavediving we did, none of us was certified for that but we did some guided caverndives with certified cavedivers and it was soooo beautiful!

Started diving a few years back and told myself I would never get my ice diving or cave diving certs. Got my ice diving cert just before covid. And your videos are really starting to make cave diving look amazing. Maybe some day... Still got a lot more learning to do first..

I went snorkeling at Cenote Dos Ojos in Mexico with my family and it was so much fun! I highly recommend it, I want to go back so much!! I did a little bit of free diving before our tour group started and I remember looking up through the water and how clear and beautiful it was. I didn’t have any weights or anything so I couldn’t stay down for long but it was so amazing!!

The comment about line thickness is interesting. In the UK we line our caves really differently. Because it's so cold (7-10c) and your usually in a wetsuit as you have had to do dry caving to get to the dive handling thin line is really hard when your hands are in 5mm gloves and numb. We also have a lot of small silty caves so you expect to be holding the line on the way out. We also don't have issues with open water divers entering them as you have to cave and even then almost every dive is a SM dive with small cylinders.
All this means we lay thick line usually 6mm but in caves that get flooded in winter, it could be 10mm caving rope or even steel cable on chain. We also lay all line from air surface so you dont need to line in and use junctions not jumps again so you don't need spools just markers and there is less faff on exit in low viz.
You guys are amazing, it blows my mind you haven't been there yet. I did my full cave with Patrick and Protec. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Never thought about cave diving before, but have open water dived in Honduras and if cave diving can be that beautiful then maybe I should seek training. Thanks for your awesome videos guys!!

Woody if you want shots like on blue world you need a wide angle lens on your camera, like 35mm or less focal length. Also maybe a polarizing filter to cut out reflections in the water? Hope that helps! 🙃
If it was me id get a prime 20mm focal length lens with a polarizing filter!
It would also help to have a 50000 lumens dive light lol. That would light up the whole cave

I used to explore caves when I was younger as a Boy Scout. We would repel in, then rock climb out.... Beautiful, beautiful caves, then of course all the public caves, Mammoth, Ruby Falls, Lost Sea, more than I can remember. Now you are showing me Cenotes and Spring fed caves.... SOLD... Sign me up...
You just have to show me some caves with fish and sharks (that we can dive...), and I will be completely set. 😉😊

the same nylon rope you use in caves we actually use in the tree industry for throw balls to put ropes in trees, and sometimes we even just use them to pull trees over with the like 5mm line. this line is way stronger then most people realize, and also real ropes under tention which you guys describe pulling all the slack out, thick ropes are a lot easier to cut and frey on jagged edges.
