Love your place. I like that it's minimal but not cold and sparse. I've spent a great deal of time decluttering and am shooting for something similar to what you have. It's nice to have things tidy and fairly simple, but also feel comfortable, cozy, and like a home.
That's been my number one goal with living here. Cozy and warm! I don't love tons of decor, but I love plants, a cool art piece or books, and well placed wall art to make our space feel as cozy as it can. It becomes even more so during the holiday season, too.
You are most welcome, Drew-Alexander! Thank you for the name & seller of your couch, it looks dreamy-am hoping I can find it here in Australia! If not then it shall be my template to judge all other couches by😄🤣 Take care, Kindly, Sharlot🌻🌱
The meaning of minimalism has changed over time, but this home is indeed minimalist. It isnt because you have a lot of stuff that you aren't a minimalist. You simply need to only have what is essential, but also not have an empty and souleds homes, like many nowdays do.
Hey there Drew, Thanks for sharing your safe space with us here on RUclips! You and Grace have made a beautiful come & cozy space in which to live-go you! Where did you get your couch from please? Kindly, Sharlot😃🌻🌱
New subscriber! I just found your channel, thank you for showing us the intimacy of your home, it's a nice place, well organized, I like that your bedroom is a space to rest 100% without distractions. And for those comments where they mention that you have a lot of things, minimalism is about living with what is necessary, with what is useful for you, it's not about living without objects, or without furniture. I really liked this video.
Hey, thanks for your comment! I love that about our bedroom space. As a kid, I had a TV in room, mostly because it was Theo only place I could watch it myself, all the way up until I moved out of my parent's house, and it's just nice to limit ton's of stimuli when I'm trying to rest. I always highly recommend people remove the TV from their bedroom.
It was intentional for us to avoid it being all beige or gray. It's very sterile and uninviting in my opinion. I may like white walls, but never all-beige-everything!
Thanks for sharing your domain with us, Drew. Very nice, organized, and yet still warmth. At 2:20, I want you to know I appreciate the pinky-out as you drank. A man of culture - I can appreciate that! ;) Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you for showing off the range of minimalist living. Almost every minimalist I know (myself included) live in spaces that look like yours and not those neutral monochromatic, palatial spaces. It'd be cool if you'd show off other minimalist spaces that buck the trend.
The Heugh Channel has a place for keys but it's a bowl. I have a plastic box that I use for my work badge. I put it in on Friday and I put it in my purse on sunday night.
I'm going to go ahead and knock on wood, but no we haven't had this problem. I'm still not quite sure why they don't, but we tried to deter them from doing so when we adopted each of them. They did try to chomp on a spider plant we have though, lol.
Thanks! Unfortunately, we got that secondhand from someone so I'm not exactly sure the brand. But you can find something pretty similar here: amzn.to/4ffR4Ar (this is an affiliate link)
We had some issues with our cats deciding to pee in our furniture sooooo we got that to figure out who it was and to keep an eye on them if we’re traveling :)
I am, by no means, an extreme minimalist, nor am I ascetic. I own only the things I love and have ditched everything that doesn't add value to my life. I also do live with a partner, so there are some parts of our home that are for sure a compromise :)
I think its more of "we don't have much excess and stick to what we actually use" rather than "living with only essentials and no extra frills". which is good :)
I think it’s because it actually looks like he lives here as opposed to other minimalist homes I’ve seen that look more like a fake home used just for RUclips recordings.
Apartment honorable mentions: cat toys, halloween decor, gigantic Monstera plant

This looks like a perfectly normal home to me. The perfect amount of stuff.
I totally agree! This home has a wonderful balance of decor and functionality.

i love stuff like this, its realistic and doesn't reek of pretentiousness.

@@drew-alexander I completely understand you! Keep going with your channel sharing tips please!🙏🙌
Coffee station & comfy couch, perfect combination 👍
I like that it’s not all beige.

This looks like a standard home for couples starting out their lives. Very Nice👍
Lovely place !
I have a Switch too :)

Thanks for watching, Ted! I don't know when I started doing that, but I always do it while daintier cups and mugs!

It'd be a dream of mine to make a video series exclusively on minimalist homes - adding that to the "someday" list.
So nice!

Nice
Not exactly minimalist but still very well done- kind of gives a mid century vibe.
Amei❤
Do your cats eat your plants? I struggle with mine eating my pothos and monstera 🥲

I finally figured out my cat is eating my snake plant.
Hey there - nice apartment - we have the same style. Can I ask where you got the floor lamp by the TV from please?
Thanks! Unfortunately, we got that secondhand from someone so I'm not exactly sure the brand. But you can find something pretty similar here: amzn.to/4ffR4Ar (this is an affiliate link)
Why the camera next to the Tv? 👀
We had some issues with our cats deciding to pee in our furniture sooooo we got that to figure out who it was and to keep an eye on them if we’re traveling :)
BELLO. HERMOSO. CHEVERE. !!!!!

Nice apartment but I don’t think it qualifies as minimalist.
Than you don’t fully understand minimalism…it does not mean empty.
You have a lot of stuffs. Still called minimalist ?

Love this form of minimalism. Having things that do spark joy and that you actually use and keeping things cosy by adding color and plants ❤
