I went back during a really sad low point in my life. The GB put me off in a big way. When I was a kid they were just some omniscient entity in New York. You never saw or heard them. I feel like the organization was somehow more legit then.

I predicted 7 years ago that Watchtower would last another 20 to 25 years. My prediction was they wouldn't be completely gone but they would have sold off all of their assets (halls and assembly halls) and go to straight online asking for tithes and getting rid of all the rules. No. I think you have this wrong. The elders were basically waiting for more guidelines from the society. You know what some elders are like. They want to know exactly what kind of slacks can be worn etc.
Some of them. Some others couldn't give a fuck, being "strict" while in JW mode, but the moment they get home or are not being a JW, they watch R rated movies with their family and friends, listen to so much heavy profanity and negative topic music, use profanity, play M rated/PEGI 18+ games, etc. And then of course, you have the elders who defy the norm, and actually care more about the people than the rules and strict adherence. The majority are definition the prior three haha.

You do know about the 501c3, right, the only way to get tax free money is a religious organization, so I personally disagree with the fact they are no longer going to be a religion, it's always about the money, but I do hope you're right about they are finished. Good discussion though.
501c3's are not just religions though. That said, when I was talking about losing their religious status and their charity status/funding from the government, I was specifically referring to Norway, which I said when mentioning it, who doesn't have 501c3 because that's a US thing. And I certainly agree they'll try to do anything they can to get that funding from their government back, which is actually why they're trying to shift their shunning rules around. They only started that after the Norway ruling. I definitely hope I'm right, and now that 3 months has passed, I'm more confident now they''re on their deathbed, and they now it, too. The governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses is actively moving to make themselves far more mainstream christian, which is all but guaranteed why they're going to rebrand and remove their long-standing name completely. JWs are not Trinitarian at all, so they don't believe in "the father, son and the holy ghost" trope. They originally as a religion were trying to be a Judaeo-Christian hybrid, thus why they use the anglicized version of Yahweh/Jahweh, Jehovah. Yahovah is another way Yahweh is said. And for context, I am not a JW, as I mentioned in this video in fact. I am a Agnostic Atheist that was born into a JW family, and left at 15. And we're all "worldly people influenced by satan and his demons" here haha

Most things in reality are human things, even with how fervently many demand it is "of god" and so on. One of my go-tos is pointing out how if a god or gods exist, they would never begin to give a damn what someone is or isn't wearing, as only humans would make that a thing to begin with.
This video is all conjecture. Watchtower is making adjustments that all business do to survive. Yes, its numbers are not great as they were two decades ago, but all businesses have hard time and Watchtower is making necessary steps to maintain relevance. I compare the process to IBM. IBM saw it was looking relevance, so made painful business decision. It is not as large as it once was but is still in business.

We're "made in Jehovah's image", it isn't supposedly our fault that we "sin", and he fully understands this, while being a forgiving, loving, understanding, kind god, yet, he simultaneously is seen as such a hateful, spiteful, vengeful, angry, controlling, vindictive, uncaring, unforgiving god if anyone dares not follow his every word and dictate, making him a contradiction and incredibly anthropomorphic (human). IF the prior is true, then how and why would he ever be willing to permanently end the lives of so many of his own children he creates in his image out of spite like that for a punishment? That by definition is the latter. Pure venegfulness, hatred, unforgiving and anger/spite out of the people not letting his rules & words control them. In fact, that is also a very human set of traits and reactions to such being the case. Perhaps that is religious humans applying their own biases against those they dislike because they refuse to "believe in the one true faith" (which every single religion and religious sect claims they are), and not at all Jehovah? Or the only other possibilities is he is in fact anthropomorphic, making him a Demigod, or both. Be he cannot be the loving, caring, understanding, compassionate, forgiving god you and most other christian religions preach where and when convenient to you. I encourage you to really let that sink in and give it some thorough thought, and see if you can even begin to find a logical defense for Jehovah being such a humanized contradiction, along with why he'd be so spiteful toward his own creations for not being implicitly obedient to his every whim.

There used to be hundreds of Gods and priests got very powerful attracting people to their God.I think it was Rameses who said "No, there is one God and he gives power to me" thus scuppering the priests power (and hence "The divine right of rulers" that persisted into the 20th century with Tsars etc) This was taken up by the Jews (note how the Torah/Bible's first five books all show God hating his previous Egyptian chums in favour of the Israelites) and all Christianity AND Islam are is breakaway sects of Judaism-the breakaway being to gain political power/control-they both use the OT/Torah-ie Genesis Exodus Leviticus Deuteronomy numbers and bend them to show how their breakaway sect is Gods chosen (note how the Jews enrage and lose God in the power usurping books of the NT and koran!!) And of course within ALL the sects-Judaism Christian Islam there are hundreds of sub sects all vying for power and money-one of these being the JW's. All religions are nonsense today-vital in establishing society and politics 5000 years ago-but hopelessly out of date. I loved "The Satanic Verses"-basically one theme is if-as all the Mullahs and muslims say-the koran says you can murder infidels/subjugate women and do all sorts of evil,then Mohammad was fooled. He never spoke to Gabriel to get Gods words for the Koran,he spoke to the devil disguised as Gabriel who got all satans evil put into his book .(The same applies to any religion-dont KKK "Christians" say the Bible-ie God- wants Blacks and Jews killed and Gays murdered........ There may well be a God,but it DEFINITELY isn't one we've invented to date or in the future or ever will be.

Most things in reality are human things, even with how fervently many demand it is "of god" and so on. One of my go-tos is pointing out how if a god or gods exist, they would never begin to give a damn what someone is or isn't wearing, as only humans would make that a thing to begin with.

This video is all conjecture. Watchtower is making adjustments that all business do to survive. Yes, its numbers are not great as they were two decades ago, but all businesses have hard time and Watchtower is making necessary steps to maintain relevance. I compare the process to IBM. IBM saw it was looking relevance, so made painful business decision. It is not as large as it once was but is still in business.
Yet again this technically agrees with one of my main points through this video and my inital one - The fact that they're 100% corporate (business) pretending to be a non-profit religion.

Watchtower is a Networking marketing business structured as a non-profit. The way it works makes it obvious to anyone that understands money and business. I would not say it is a corporate business as it does not work like one sufficiently to qualify. A group should never be identified with its words, but rather its action/behavior.

That day has came and gone according to Jehovah's Witnesses own preachings MANY times. in the 1800s, 1914, during World War II, in the 70s, etc. Will you continue to allow men to move those goal posts every single time it doesn't happen and continue to trust them? Apparently so.

I guess you just got to keep say "okay we got it wrong this time too, but we know it won't be wrong now" until you're proven right, huh? Or at least so you hope you will be, for some weird reason.
It's funny. We're "made in Jehovah's image", it isn't supposedly our fault that we "sin", and he fully understands this, while being a forgiving, loving, understanding, kind god, yet, he simultaneously is seen as such a hateful, spiteful, vengeful, angry, controlling, vindictive, uncaring, unforgiving god if anyone dares not follow his every word and dictate, making him a contradiction and incredibly anthropomorphic (human). IF the prior is true, then how and why would he ever be willing to permanently end the lives of so many of his own children he creates in his image out of spite like that for a punishment? That by definition is the latter. Pure venegfulness, hatred, unforgiving and anger/spite out of the people not letting his rules & words control them. In fact, that is also a very human set of traits and reactions to such being the case. Perhaps that is religious humans applying their own biases against those they dislike because they refuse to "believe in the one true faith" (which every single religion and religious sect claims they are), and not at all Jehovah? Or the only other possibilities is he is in fact anthropomorphic, making him a Demigod, or both. Be he cannot be the loving, caring, understanding, compassionate, forgiving god you and most other christian religions preach where and when convenient to you.
I encourage you to really let that sink in and give it some thorough thought, and see if you can even begin to find a logical defense for Jehovah being such a humanized contradiction, along with why he'd be so spiteful toward his own creations for not being implicitly obedient to his every whim.
