Thanks for making this video! I was struggling on getting the glass to release from that clip. Watched multiple videos but this was by far the most helpful. ✌🏻

This was the only video I've seen that really explained the screw that holds the window to the regulator. Thanks for that very important tip and for the tip about spreading the plastic holder apart (that grips the hole in the window). I have been struggling with removing the last plug from the door lock actuator. I am afraid to pull it too hard. Is there a locking tab that needs to be pushed out of the way? Thanks for your helpful video!

Could have taken the motor off to let the window down. Then wouldn't have to reconnect the electrical wires

Dumb question but how do I determine if my problem is motor window regulator. I was just going to buy a motor since I have to pull on window to get it to close.
    Thanks

Benny , the beginning of video. When he says car has no power. So he snipped the wires and hooked up a manual battery. That's easiest way to test a window motor. "You can always solder and shrink wrap wires back together. Forever. " so that's how you test.

You might also just need to oil the tracks. Try oiling first.

Question. My sons drivers side back window keeps falling down. Is it the regulator? He has a 2009 Hyundai sonata

I tried putting in my screwdriver and even using a hammer to hit it, still can’t get it to pop out. Any suggestions?

I would use a more rounded screwdriver , just so it can catch the edges of the screw ,and continue to tap the screw with hammer lightly ✌️

This isn't an electric window, u said near the end, something about "Rolling" the window up, that doesn't sound like an electric window, that sounds like a manual window? I saw another video about window regulator and motor replacement, and all they did after removing the door was un-screw the motor/regulator from the car door, and then un-snap/unclick the plugs from it and the regulator/motor was able to be removed and replace the same way. None of what u were doing was involved . And ur way of doing it seem WAYyyyyy more complicated. No D.I.Y., in their right mind, would every attempt to do this?????, I would just go to a auto shop, and pay them the $200+, grit my teeth, and bear it...…….smfh

I think you are referring to only the window motor. An easy replacement by just unscrewing the motor. the regulator is the device holding the glass inside the door panel. Not easy to get to, and this video is a very short and succinct instructional for doing that.

@@TheSunnyJim- ur right, I went to the auto parts store to pick up the motor to replace, it didn't fix the problem, nor did the master window switch removal/replacement. And now they are going to check the window regulator, which im going to have to take to a real mechanic to change, cause that's wayyy to hard for me to tackle, I did the motor and master switch installment and removal myself, it was very easy, but a waste of time, since it didn't fix the problem. One lady said her problem turned out to be a bad "FUSE", what do u think about that, could it be as simple as a fuse?????......…...smdh…..so fed up......

On the contrary, this video is VERY helpful for any capable DIY'er needing to repair the window regulator on this vehicle. Most of us who eschew paying $300 or more for a $70 repair encounter the most difficulty at the step this video has been the best to explain (removing the glass from the plastic track due to the raised lip on the back tab).
Further, if, as you suggest, you simply unbolt the motor (yes, as in it's an ELECTRIC powered window) from the regulator panel without pulling the whole panel as shown here, good luck putting the new motor back on since the same three bolts that hold the motor on also hold the cable spool mechanism on the backside of the panel. If you unbolt the motor, the spool mechanism will drop and it's damn near impossible to reattach without first removing the panel.
So thank you, Jose, for the video!
