    Great two part video. My son and I replaced his window regulator in his Hyundai and followed your video step by step. I told my son it may take all day but following your video it only took a couple of hours. Thanks alot.

    Great two part video! I followed it step-by-step for a broken window regulator replacement on my 2009 Hyundai Sonata. I would have been fumbling around for a long time without it for sure. Very well laid out and narrated. Thank you for putting in the time to do this. BTW, I also got a Dorman replacement window regulator and the hole in the armrest pocket didn't line up either.

      Yeah, a lot of car mechanics dislike using Dorman parts. Just ask Eric from the South Main Auto RUclips Channel. I only did, because it was cheap. As they say, you get what you pay for...

    These videos were invaluable for me when my window regulator gave out. My replacement regulator didn't come with screws for the door speaker, however - I used #8-32 x 3/4" stainless steel screws and lock nuts which worked great.

    Excellent instructional video. You make the job look easy. I am only replacing the driver's side door actuator and have encountered several problems. Also, another video that I watched, before finding yours, led me to believe that I needed to remove the bracket that held the actuator. After watching your work, I realized that it was not necessary at all.

    You are the best teacher. Exactly showing what needs to be done pointing out any subtleties & valuable insights. Great content. I need to replace my rear left (driver side rear) window regulator. Although your video is showing Driver side front I feel quite confident using your tips. Thanks a lot again. Keep up the great content coming.

    The passenger window on my 2006 hyundai sonata was stuck down due to the cord in the pulley-system being frayed. I couldn't have replaced the window regulator without your thorough tutorial; thank you so much for sharing the process!

    Great 2 step video. You did a good job of explaining how other things could come into play if everything doesn't go together perfectly. When I received my regulator, the armrest bracket snapped off during shipping so I when ahead and riveted the OEM bracket in its place and it fit perfectly. While I was at it, I also riveted the speaker back into place.

    I did mine without removing the locks.those inside door handle cables pull out of those holes as well as the plastic prongs,you can get your hand in there to undo the plug for the central locking move the removable inner door skin forward,just be careful putting that plug back in though easy to bend the tangs if not lined up properly.

    Thanks for the video! i was able to fix the regulator. Unforunately I didn't see the zip ties in the box until it was too late, so I used duct tape. Hopefully that will be ok. Also, I was worried about the bolt falling into the door, so I used note cards as a safety net.

    Your videos helped me out a ton and I just finished putting everything back into place after installing the new window regulator, now im just having an issue with my door closing. It latches on good but the door stays a crack open like something is jammed but i can’t seem to figure out whats the problem. Everything seems to be installed good but the door just won’t budge. Almost feels like its sideways but I didn’t move any screws from the door hook itself.

    • @MTTech
      @MTTech  Год назад

      Is the interior door panel attached to the door properly? If you missed a push tab, that might explain why the door is not closed all the way. If you touched the screws holding in the door lock latch on the side, make sure those are secured.

    I would recommend testing the widow function fully before seating the door card. Also I did the drivers side on one my daughters Sonata a couple of years ago. After i elongated the holes for the clips I discovered the kit came with new clips for round holes.Don't think it was a Dorman part.I have to do the passenger side tomorrow with a Dorman. I'll find out.

    Thanks great help. T o replace reg motor do you have to take panel off inside?

    • @MTTech
      @MTTech  Год назад

      No. The silver window regulator does not need to be removed. Only the interior door panel, and interior door handle trim piece. Then unplug all the cables and remove the torx screws from the window motor to remove.

    The front windows on my 2006 roll up super slow. Did this replacement make the window roll up faster/normal?

    Thank you so much for this video! I was able to replace the driver’s side rear regulator all by myself. FYI if you buy the replacement part without the screws or actuator mount, use 1/2” #10-24 screws and matching nuts. Your welcome :)

    how does the motor know when window is up all the way? do you have to time the motor and the window?

    • @MTTech
      @MTTech  Год назад

      It knows when the motor isn't able to spin anymore once the window is up. There is a reset procedure for the automatic window if power from the battery is lost. To reset, make sure the window is down. Then with the key in the "ON" position, hold up the driver window switch until the window is up and continue holding the switch up for 0.2secs. after that test the auto up by pushing down, then pull up and let go. Auto up should work.

    The bolt holes for removing/installing the window, you used the wrong tape for the job. Packing tape is crap on metal. Use duct tape. U also said it wasn't necessary. Yes it is. Cold air, dust, moisture will pass thru. It also keeps noise down and air pressure stabilized. Otherwise, not a bad vid

    Ugh... I've torn way too many door panels off because of issues with a motor, regulator, or door jam switch. My mom owns a Sonata but I can't remember what year. I think it's only 6 or 7 years old but still looks brand new. Do you like it because I considered it and maybe one day I'll own one. Just curious because I try to satay away from cars that seem to have problematic problems. I'm really liking my Hyundai vehicles.

    • @MTTech

      The only thing wrong with the 06-10 Sonata's is the use of cheap plastic. For whatever reason the plastic parts in this 2010 sonata crack/break. Both visors had their mirror cover broken off. The plastic hinges decided to crack/break. The middle storage console had a broken plastic lever. Plastic sunglasses compartment near the sunroom switches broke. I replaced all the broken parts with junkyard ones since this this car has 205,000mi on it. I wonder if this specific car got a bad batch of plastic parts or its just how they made all Sonata's of this model year. On the bright side, the engine and powertrain have no issues besides normal maintenance. Such a shame that certain 2011-2021Hyundai/Kia vehicles have recalls that can lead to engine fires. My parents just got a new 2021 Sonata Limited, nice car...with neat safety features and technology, time will tell for how it holds up. I used to have a 2007 Hyundai Azera Limited with about 202,000mi on it, sadly got totaled hitting a deer on the freeway.
