- Not as easy as it looks at 1st..Hyundai did a job on all these plastic parts and everything you need to swap out the regulator assy.. I ran into a few glitches but it all worked out fine..follow along as I work on this together with my camera. If I sound slurred or funny it's because I froze out there. Enjoy...

I am NOT planning to do this myself. Just wanted to understand the problem better before taking it to a mechanic. This video was really helpful. In a very slow and deliberate way, this guy takes you through all the steps while giving very relevant comments on each step.
thanks for the compliment
I wouldn't try it myself either 🙂
I did it myself (I'm a nurse) and it works perfectly. So many thanks for this video. It saved me time and a huge hassle!
Thats awesome and thanks for watching too
This one of the most detailed video on RUclips to show you how to do things, thank you sir .
You welcome and thanks for watching
I managed to get my door panel off first to see what I was dealing with. When I saw the full aluminum panel underneath and unable to see the bolts that hold the window through the slots, I knew I needed a reference. This video helped out a lot because I was gonna be over my head on fixing it myself. Thanks Cuda.
You're welcome, sometimes a job looks intimidating but hopefully my video pushed you alittle to tackle the job and save a few hundred dollars..and thanks for watching...
Thank you my dude. My window stopped working at adalbertos the other day. This video is very helpful. Got the whole thing taken apart and back together quicker than I can make a burrito.
Thats funny..I love a Burrito..Glad it worked out for you.
My window worked part way this morning then it fell...never to be lifted again
Even though this was posted some time ago, the information presented is helping me out as I attempt to fix the actuator on the left hand side of a 2008 Elantra. I watched several other videos, but got stuck attempting to remove the inner panel. Your video showing how the glass and the riveted holders will prevent removal of the panel, was very useful.
I'm glad I helped you out on the video and thanks for watching too...
The correct way to handle the door pull is to remove the door handle and then three is 1 screw that connects to the door pull mechanism. The you remove the 3 Torx head screws in the door and you can remove the entire door pull mechanism. It will make removing the connector much easier.
This Video was very informative and helped me to replace my window regulator. With that said The Connector that he is talking about at 13:20 of the video, if you take a small screwdriver, and insert it in the tunnel and towards the tab that you need to lift, has a small opening in the tab that your screwdriver will fit into. Manipulate the screwdriver to lift up on the tab while pulling on the connector and it will pop right out. It took me a while to figure this out but once it was done, it was stupid easy. I hope this helps.
every little trick helps everyone that watches this video..glad it worked out for you too....
At the 13:22 mark, taking off the three Allen screws that hold the latch assembly on the door itself will let you remove this plug quite easily, other than that this is solid video, thank you!
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching...
Thank you so much for the detail on the electrical plug at 14:30. My replacement was going pretty well until I got stuck on that.
I remember that Electrical Plug very well..it had me puzzled for awhile..
Is it the same for Hyundai i30?
@@mahmoudalmontasser8369 possible but with a few things different
Thanks man - this was super helpful!!!!! - love the handy tips and advice....."Don't use no cheap hardware"... awesome!
Thanks for watching
I have both front regulators out on my 2008 Eleantra and I was worried about the wiring harness and the door lock wires. Thank you very much for helping me understand what I need to do to fix them. This is exactly what I have been looking for.
You have guts to strip both sides off at the same time..lol
@@alyoungcuda well I'm thinking about just doing the passengers side first as a test and learning part then ill do the driver's side the next day. That stupid plug is whats gonna get the ancestors anger come out of me though so I'll need some learned patience lol
Take your time and you will be just fine..
@@alyoungcuda I will let you know how it goes
Thank you for explaining how to remove that electrical plug for the door lock.
You're welcome, it was in a strange spot for sure
Hey thanks man my window has not worked for 2 years ya I have slacked on it but with this video I'm pretty positive that the parts coming in the mail soon I will be able to fix my self cause this video thank u again
You can do it ,take your time and thanks for watching....
Wow, just what I needed. Amazing detail, VERY helpful and informative
Mine broke tonight. Window did not go up right and I heard (what I'm sure is) plastic fall off inside the door enclosure. 2010 Elantra touring... got the window back up and was uncertain where to go from there.
I looked up the part at the site you mention, gret price until I put in my Canadian address LOL, I'm going to call a few scrap yards.
Almost winter up here and truth is I've been thinking about replacing the car, hopefully early next year if I'm lucky. May skip this job/expense
Thanks for watching and yes, shipping to you guys are so expensive
for that impossible clip on the left that's connected to the door lock, i removed the 3 x T30 screws on the edge of the door that hold the latch, and moved the latch in a bit to disconnect.
i will spray the connectors and plugs with Fluid Film or Honey Goo to protect the connections when re-assembling.
@@deanp7899 thats a good tip, thanks for the recommendation
This was very detailed, nonchalant but informative. You took us thru every step and gave helpful tips and insights. Thank you.
Thanks for watching
I still need to find a regulator but your video was not just informative but entertaining! I am not looking forward to this, but thanks very much for the detailed walk through!
Its not as bad as it seems..since it is all enclosed in 1 unit..Rockauto.com has the best prices
Thanks for Watching...
Thanks for the informative video! Everything worked as you described. I ordered from RockAuto and the plastic piece that you drilled out came with it. And had rivets to attach it. And yes that last pull switch was kind of a PITA. About 2 hrs to complete.
My customer didn't give me the box but it was in the box he said....2 hours is great...
About the wire that runs to the lock.
To make it easier to remove, take out the (3) star bolts on the door, you can then move it around and have space to remove tab with flat head or pick.
The best video because you showed us how we dial with window all other videos don’t show the window what to do with it thanks
Thanks for the compliment..and thanks for watching...
Thank you very much for posting your work. You saved me a lot of time and guesswork.
You're welcome and thanks for watching too...
Excellent video and saved us a lot of time so many thanks to you..!
Thank you and thanks for watching too...
My 2016 Elantra just broke
The window regulator is doing the same as here.
I heard a plastic sound and window stopped.
Time for a new one
Thanks for the guide
Looks complicated but its all incased in that panel..just take your time..and Thanks for Watching.
I went to a junk yard to get a new regulator and try to figure out how to do it without damaging my car. I found that it was much easier to remove the regulator motor and then you could just lift and push the window up and down to get the screws to line up with the holes. No bending of the metal regulator holder required.
Without the motor, yes it should move without resistance
Thanks for taking the time. Great Video!
Thank you for Watching..
Great video, thank you. Very detailed and great quality vid. Thanks !
Thanks for watching...
So at 11:56 that bracket with the rivets was found by the customer in the box at his home when the job was finished...word of advice, if you buy your own parts, supply the whole box..don't take anything out of the box unless you know what you are doing...Peace out
??? almost did the same but that riveted plastic bracket just unclips, and usually comes with the new win,reg ...
Most helpful video
Thank you and thanks for watching
This video was very helpful
I did it quick
Thats awesome and thanks for watching too...
Great job
Thanks and thanks for watching...
good video.
I'm not sure if my hyundai touring 2010 has the same problem.
this morning trying to open the driver side window then I heard something break and the window stopped moving but I still can hear the window motor sound fine working but window no moving.
Window regulator broke, the motor is still spinning so thats good, you save on buying a motor...
@@alyoungcuda good news 👍thanks
So helpful! Thank you!
You're Welcome and thanks for watching
Use painters tape or masking tape instead of duct tape less clean up.
Of course..customer used it and it was horrible to remove
Very informative , like very much
Thank you
awesome, Thanks
Thanks for watching...
Thanks for your video
Only I just need to know how to take that little door luck off
Easy
Anybody know if theres a way of knowing if its the sitch/buttons or if its the window Motor. Mine does NOTHING.
Similar but the concept is the same..you need a test light or a multimeter to check.

One year later last year was the passenger now the one on my driver side crapped out lol
I figured the drivers side goes up and down more..
Hello, do you know what stockings the strings have?
Not sure what you mean by this question?
Great video! Do you possibly have an estimate of how much a person should I pay to get this exact work on their Elantra? I have issues with arthritis and I’m not able to do the work myself. Thanks again.
I say about 150.00 in labor..a dealership would be alot more
Lift tab
great video! would you happen to know if they make replacement parts for just that plastic gear that the motor connects to? the one where all the wires were wrapped up in
They only sell it as a complete unit
@Rockauto.com
They have the cheapest price
@@alyoungcuda thanks so much! That was the cheapest assembly I could find as well
Where did you buy the regulator assembly from and can you share the link?
Rockauto.com.
Thanks for watching too.
My God why do car dealerships make it so very hard to fix stupid little problems like this Why are they riveting shit?! Everything should be a bolt or screw of some sort.... By the way out of curiosity how many rivets total were there?
Just the 2 for that bracket...
What size were the bolts in the regulator
They were either 8mm or 10mm
Do you have to grease the cables?
No..left it just the way it is, grease will attract dirt and grime and might jam it up
This a problem nobody wants to have don't try to fix the wire just replace the panel like he's doing🤣🤣been there done that said screw this it's a piece of crap lol
the whole regulator is cheap enough to buy..thanks for watching
When I went to the shop they told me I need a L/F door latch and main switch 🤷🏽♀️ but where can you find that at? I only see repair parts for 2010 -2019 Hyundai Elantra
Dealer only..but I guess those parts broke on the way off..you didnt have those problems before..
Rockauto.com has the window switch..the lock itself not sure..I think it comes with the actuator that is listed on there too..
