  • ‪@AndreasChristouSaltwater‬ and I fished the UF Salty Gators fishing tournament in Steinhatchee, FL. This footage is from the day of pre-fishing and the tournament day. We used paddle tails, topwater, mirrodine, and other search baits to try and win first place! There were definitely some highs and lows in this video. Andy had a lot of topwater blow ups but unfortunately some really good fish came off. Thanks for watching!

I was there last week. The first part of the week was very cold but I didn't let it slow me down. For whatever reason I couldn't consistently find the trout and reds on the flats even during the warm days. I did however find some flounder and spanish macks. Looking forward to going back at some point and possibly learning how to locate those reds.

In this video we saw a lot of fish on the flats right outside of creek mouths. As it warms up it should push the fish more out on the flats and should make them more active. I don’t fish Steinhatchee very often but I’m hoping to get out there more to get that fishery dialed in.

I'm headed there in April to fish a little tourney in my Avid 21 FS Mag. Any areas i need to avoid running? I'm timid about it and don't want to run aground. I am from North GA and have never been there.

I don’t run my boat too much in Steinhatchee, this video was shot on my buddies boat. But from my experience, when you’re roughly 700-1000 yards from shore you can usually run safely. As you start making your way towards the shore, it gets a lot shallower and you’ll find random rocks throughout the flat. Your best bet is to ride out until the end of the channel and then head north and south, then slowly make your way towards the shoreline
