I know there are a few flounders hanging around but I don't usually catch them. I'm sure a different bait would work better for flounder but I normally target Redfish and trout. Flounders are lagniappe for me on 🎣
Reds are so much fun to catch on light tackle. My buddy and I got into a school of snook in the intercostal in Florida one time. We were throwing gold spoons on 3 lb. test line and for about 35 minutes it was just “cast and catch”, lol. The redfish were running with them and I caught at least 3 that were in the 8 pound range. It wasn’t snook season so we released everything we caught but it was big time fun.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing your videos with us. You must have a freezer full of fish to throw those fish back in. 😂. I know...saving some for us. 😂. Keep the videos coming 👍👍
When the freezers full I usually just keep a couple fresh ones to cook the same day. I got to keep some room for shrimp if you know what I mean. Thanks buddy! Always great hearing from you.
I live on the Texas side of the border (Deweyville/Starks La.)I tell you what that fishing over in LA is some of the best you will ever see!!!Sabine to Laccasine to Ponterchain to the Red River and everything in between!
We definitely have some amazing areas to fish, especially down South. I did a little fishing in several lakes around Bossier but wasn't really my style of fishing.
The reds were there but hard to run the troll motor through that mud. Probably around 10 inches of water. It was definitely worth it. My favorite kind of fishing. Watching those reds attack the bait will get the blood flowing every time. Thanks buddy! Keep it up on your end. 🎣
Throughly enjoying the channel!! We get to visit LA occasionally with work and love it every time. Even took an air boat ride and touched gators once. So much fun! Love the house boat and area . Don’t like all those spiders though, lol.
That looked like fun, no red fish up here but I fish for large mouth bass. Throw a rig like you were except I use a white flue as the trailer. I do have a nice pond right next to my house. Great video keep em coming thanks.
We have a wide variety of fish around here. With the saltwater and freshwater mixing, we get the best of both worlds. Reds, Speckled Trout, largemouth bass, and the list goes on. A Lot of the time we can catch all that in the same place with the same bait. Definitely a sportsmans paradise! Thanks buddy!🎣
Awesome video! That’s some great marsh and very well done on the catching. I gotta find a kayak launch down there!!! Or bring the boat. Great job and good luck ahead. Ps… you would have won the tournament!!
I really appreciate that buddy! We definitely have some amazing marsh to fish. It's addicting! There are several places down Point Aux Chenes that are kayak friendly. They actually rent kayaks at one of the launches. Keep it up on your end. Always good hearing from you. 🎣🎣🎣
Love your channel!! New subscriber. This video reminds me of fishing on the flats in Florida, catching redfish and speckled trout ❤❤. What is the catch limit and size limit for reds in Louisiana?? Such a great way for your son to grow up!! He will have great memories!!
We have plenty of good fishing around our area, both salt and freshwater. The Redfish bag limit is 5 per person. Size limit is 16" or better and only one out of the 5 can be over 27". Thank you!🎣
Is that water brackish, or fresh? Such a beautiful area. How about the place you were swimming in the last video? It didn’t look as muddy as I expected it would be, when your boy was pickin bug’s around the cypress. I think cypress only does fresh water, which makes those fresh water muscles? Did you know Roosevelt almost released hippos in the Louisiana bayou for food ? You may like another channel I follow from a fellow backwoods Franko, Billy rioux adventurer. Good stuff! I drove around down there but never got on the water so I only saw the path. Enjoying the channel.
The water where I was fishing is brackish. A lot of times you will catch fresh and Saltwater fish in the same spot and same bait. The area around our camp is fresh water. No way I would have gotten in the water if there were hippos!🐊 Thanks for the info!
The drone is a DJI mini 3 pro. Got it off Amazon. We been pretty happy with it. I put a polarized lens on it which makes a huge difference. Thanks buddy! 🎣
