Wow! Hate that you lost a big red, twice😬 Man I love the thrill of small tournament fishing! Something about the pressure that’s addictive! Also That was a great learning video even for us old guys👍 I’m glad to see you growing, and certainly look forward to more good fishing, and instructional vids! Thanks for showing bait choices.
Yes, I love fishing in tournaments it makes landing that big fish that much more exhilarating! I tried hard to make this video informative but also hard when competing in a tournament. Thanks for watching!
Great video brother we fish very similar I am am just nort of u in murrells inlet. Always have a bottom rig out while I am throwing artificial or popping cork.
Sweet! I still haven’t fished I have in Murrells. Yep, if you post up might as well passively have another hook in the water. I thought this was my best option for the tournament with crab. I usually fish all artificial and don’t do this because I fish fast and am never stationary. Thanks for watching!
@@CurrentAngling absolutely brother love supporting local anglers I have fished in events with Lester and the heros on the water lowcountry chapter a couple times as well
William, you will always be my 16th. 🤣 I appreciate you watching from the beginning! Every edit I’m getting a little better, those first few videos were rough. Just recorded another today and had a nice inshore slam.
Yep I felt it was necessary to change even if it hurts me short term. This name will reflect me presenting the best and current fishing techniques, and gear. It is also universal for different locations, not just Charleston. Thanks again for always watching!
Usually slow bounce off bottom bringing in by lifting rod up then reeling down only the slack and repeating. Sometimes in shallow water with oysters I’ll retrieve faster to not get snagged.
So, with that dock right there, I would have pedaled fwd away from the dock not back towards it. Ensures you're taking him away from the dock and that you're keeping pressure on that circle hook digging in. If you're drag is set right that would be my play. Cool vid anyway.
This is a 9 inch Garmin striker, side scan. Striker units don’t have gps maps but you can make your own depth chart. Perfect for kayak if trying to safe a few $$
Are there any local tournaments coming up? Do they do this one every year? I’d love to be a part of one! I’ve heard about the kayak club, but I don’t have Facebook..
The club is primarily on the Facebook group. I’d recommend going on FB even if just for the club. They are great and a search of post history reveals anything you ever want to know about kayak fishing in the lowcountry…However the tournaments are one an app called Fishing Chaos. The app has upcoming tournament information as well as sign up, fee, and on the day of the tournament you submit your catches there. We have an annual bowfin tournament, 3 or so bass tournaments, a trout tournament, this one (battle at paradise), and monthly species challenge for angler of the year.
I love your videos so much man! I love how much you break down how, what, where, why, when you fish. Keep it up!
Thank you! Anyone can catch a fish and show it but I want to provide value.

Great video!!! When your fishing those zman minnowz are you doing a straight retrieve or jigging it along the bottom?
Usually slow bounce off bottom bringing in by lifting rod up then reeling down only the slack and repeating. Sometimes in shallow water with oysters I’ll retrieve faster to not get snagged.
@@CurrentAngling awesome that's kinda what I figured. I assume your casting up current letting it fall back with the tide?
Yeah retrieve with current or diagonal with it. Otherwise it’s just pushed up and unnatural

What kind of fish finder are you using?
