- Inshore Kayak fishing in Charleston SC. How to find redfish and sea trout inshore!
This week brought some cooler temps and clearer water. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get out until late in the day and around low tide. However, as the tide began to move so did the bite. We picked up our fish working the deep edges of oysters at low tide and grass edges as the tide came up.
All fish were caught on 3” Z man MinnowZ with a 1/8oz trout eye. Colors we used were mainly Opening Night due to extreme clarity.

Going back and watching most of your channel. Again, I'm impressed with your touch with soft plastics. My takeaway is to always stay in touch with your lure because the bites can be subtle and easily missed. Pick up softly with the rod, reel in the slack on the drop. Don't let the wind bow your line. I also appreciate your willingness to try live or cut bait in addition to artificials, and to let the fish tell you what they want. Thanks Cory!
Thanks for checking out some of the older videos! I’ve been recording for a bit over a year now.
When fishing a lure I try to take note of what I’m doing when I get the bite (fast, slow, depth, etc.) Example; If I get bites when I’m distracted with the camera or something in the kayak. I deliberately go slow or “dead stick” the bait. I love throwing artificial lure but don’t turn my nose to other baits if that’s what they are eating.

Hooked 14 reds all under slot lost one that counted at Buck Hall. Shrimp on a slip cork. m
Sounds like a fun day! Shrimp is always good for some action!
While I enjoy the vids of you catching fish, I wish you would make them a little more instructional, similar to this one!! I fish around SAV so the tactics and baits are quite similar. I see in this vid you flashed the bait you were using once real quick, but it didn’t match most of your catches🤔 I looked in the info section and only saw the 3” minnowz listed. You have good content, and catch nice fish, but slowing down and explaining baits and rigs would be awesome and helpful to newer guys. I think it would really help your channel grow! But JMHO👍
Hey first of all thank you for watching. 2nd I really appreciate your feedback. I’m working to make each video more instructional but it’s a learning curve for me. I’m definitely going to be covering those things more thoroughly in the next video. This weekend I’ll be participating in a Kayak club inshore tournament and will make it into a video.
Again thank you for the feedback!
@@CurrentAngling Let me say I enjoy your fishing vids, and really want to learn from them! There are way too many “bragging videos” and not enough teaching vids, which leaves that market wide open IMO. Most people watching a channel like yours is there to learn something. They already know what a fish looks like😂 I’ve been fishing 40 years and still have a lot to learn! I tend do well as I’m always open to positive suggestions, and constructive criticism as I feel it makes me a better angler in the end. The fact that you can handle suggestions, and really appreciate them, is truly the beginning of a great channel in the makings😀 Waiting on the next vid to drop👍
@@melloreel your the viewer it’s super important to hear your feedback. Honestly is always better then telling someone what they want to hear imo.
I’m trying to find the balance between entertainment and informational. Thanks again!
@@CurrentAngling You got this. You can clearly fish, now just pass it onto the rest of us. I’m just learning the artificial game!
