I started my cycle at 12yo, never had a “normal” cycle, always had debilitating cycles, ALWAYS! At 43yo, l had a hysterectomy. It was after the hysterectomy that we learned I had endometriosis and my doctor said it was EVERYWHERE. Endometriosis is underrated disease.
I too started my cycle at age 12 with excruciating pain and the doctor told my mom I was a drama queen. I had 28 sonograms before age 40 when I was finally diagnosed with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis (confirmed by biopsy). I had 7 attacks of appendicitis go undetected because my appendix was covered in adhesions, and I thought it was just cramps because I lived in pain. By the time I had surgery, I was on a liquid diet to digest because so much was covering my intestines. This disease is ALL encompassing. Not just once a month, it is your whole existence. Thank you all for spreading awareness!!
Endometriosis robbed me of ever becoming a biological mom😢. It is definitely underrated.

I had no idea you could get Endometriosis outside the uterus 😮 Crazy.
I was ten years old stared my cycle and it wasn't ever normal. In my early to mid 20s I started symptoms of endometriosis. I had a diagnosis laparoscopic surgery but the doctor overlooked it saying nothing was wrong. But it was very wrong. Wasn't until several miscarriages, and more excessive pain, 20 years that a doctor diagnosed it being endometriosis after looking into it with another laparoscopic surgery. She said it was severe endometriosis and it was bad.
