- Phoenix Music International is pleased to present the official music video for 'Neighbourhood' by Space.
'Neighbourhood' is a song by Space, written by band members Tommy Scott and Franny Griffiths, and released as the second single (though the band prefer it to be the first, as they consider 'Money'/'Kill Me' to be a "test" release) from their debut album, 'Spiders', and their third single altogether. It was originally released on 25 March 1996 and peaked at #56 in the UK charts, but it was later re-released on 21 October that year, this time peaking at #11. In Australia, 'Neighbourhood' entered the ARIA top 100 singles chart on 9 February 1997 at #90, its peak. "Neighbourhood" peaked at #22 in New Zealand in March 1997.

You gotta be putting us on! - The '90's was when the charts were wall - to - wall boy bands, complete with _perfect_ hair, toothpaste - ad. teeth and cobalt - blue contact lenses. Y'know - Take That, N'Sync, Boyzone, Westlife, Back -Door- *>`koff!‘
And, ironically, were so much more attractive .... in my humble opinion anyway.

I was in high school when this song was released second year it would of been.
For decades I could remember the song but not the name of the song or the name of the band then a few years ago I found it on my You Tube feed.
It came back in to my mind this morning & I thought I will give it a listen it's such a great song.
I remember Space sing the song on Top of The Pops ,
The band being on Soccer AM promoting it & on one of the terrestrial channels on a Saturday morning in 1996 I think it was some chart show on a Saturday morning but I cant remember the name of the chart show.

the last U.K bands I actually liked where
Kasabian ,The Kaizer Chiefs
& Razerlight.
Music in general has went so downhill in recent times everything is so heavy manufacturered music wise now you dont get bands like
Space, Oasis & Blur now it's all just utter guff music wise now.

There was a gangster down here who's last name was Miller and he was known for getting people with his stun gun called Frank zapper, or just Frank for short and this verse would often get adapted to him!

I once saw Tommy in Tesco buying a scotch egg (reduced), a pack of 10 slices of wafer thin ham and a cookie shaped like a bear but the leg had snapped off (reduced).
When I said hello to him, he hissed at me and ran out of the shop :/

It was actually a bigger hit than its better-remembered predecessor Female Of The Species... Neighbourhood was a #11 hit; despite the insane amount of exposure on TV shows / adverts, radio airplay and video rotation it got, Female Of The Species only reached #14

This song always reminds me off doing my first and only sentence 🤞🏼.
