Thank you so much for this! I have a new sloper I can’t wait to try. Update: The fit of the skirt I made using the sloper is outstanding! Thank you! Not buying another skirt retail!
Hello Diane, please I want to understand why the front hip is wider than the back? In other skirt blocks I have seen the back hip is wider than the front.please can you explain the rationale behind it.thanks
Hello Julia All 3 ways are good 1. back wider 2. both even 3. front wider It's a visual effect, in this technic I'm using, front is wider so when you look at the person wearing the skirt you don't see the side seam. Diane
Hi diane, how are you doing. Please how do i use both the skirt block and the bodice block to make a dress block. I want to use tour video for this . Thanks diane
Hello Thanks a lot for your support, In my old video, I did the minimum ease at hip (0.5 cm) in this one, I did the normal ease (1 cm )for both back and front. The -0.5 in the back and + 0.5 in front is to move the side seam towards the back. When I learn it, they say it was for visual effect, so when you look a the person from the front, you do not see the side seam. Diane
Hello Fermi, If you see that the side seam is shifting it might be because the volume of the large hip is more in the back. in that case you might move the side seam. I did this video for costume skirt Custom ruclips.net/video/e_qCchNEWLID/видео.htmliane
hi how to do aline skirt with darts in the front and back attaching zip around the waist and the bodice princess dart, with a side zip on the skirt and the bodice.
Diane, I always enjoy your teaching, and you dedicate way to draft the patterns. I have a question about the lining of a skirt, I watched your video of March 09, 2014. It was about how to sew the invisible zipper to a lined skirt. That is the most helpful video for me shruggling how to sew technically, Howeve, I am not sure how to reduce the SA of the lining. Is there any video about how to construct the lining of a skirt? I appreciate if you can give me some guide of how to reduce the lining of the zipper part. Thank you again all the effort of teaching all the drafting and the technique of sewing, sincerely.

Wait, I just realised you changed the back measurement rule. It was 1/4Hip + 0,5cm - 0,5cm ease (Since you said you didn't want the ease at the back)

Thanks for the video. What happen when the owner has big hip that lead to imbalance on the knees
