I met Dan & his father, Bob, on a hot summer day at Willow Park, Oshweeken, Ontario, Canada around 1996, best I can recall. I shook hands & welcomed them & their band, including the Lundy brothers, to Canada & was compelled to get some of their autographed CDs. Wow! What a Bluegrass group! Bob was an unassuming gentleman (was amazed @ his 50+ Yrs. performing Bluegrass music & was sorry to hear of his passing). I told him & Dan that I thought his son, Dan, had the Best Voice I had ever heard sing a Bluegrass song, long before all the awards he has received!!! Now Dan's son is carrying on the Tradition! God Bless y'all. ✝️
Thanks for this Danny Paisley show. Ryan was just a young boy then. I just saw Danny and The Southern Grass last week. He’s a local where I live . He and his father would be often up Sunset Park up Rt 1 a few exits from here in West Grove, PA. It was an old and almost sacred place around here at home. I grew up seeing the greatest names in country and Bluegrass gospel. It closed down in 96. I sure miss that place. They built a Dairy Queen and other businesses on that Park land. The State of Pennsylvania did manage to put a historical marker there at it’s entrance lane. Dear Danny looked to be a little off of his usual physical shape when I went to his show last week. The dear feller takes to a chair now when he sings his heart out…..but boy, can he still sing great! I’m so happy to see that he and Ryan are still out making great American music. I fear we are at the end of an era. This country is not fairing so well. Our leaders have sold out to greed and letting us fall. I pray The Lord Jesus has His Mercy on us and spares us from our enemies and destruction.

How I miss WAMU's Bluegrass Country--there was nothing like it and it encouraged so many musicians and fans back in the day. Love Danny's voice.
