  • I did Sarah Tran's 14 day hair challenge near the end of August, and this is my review on it! I feel like this video is kind of embarrassing, and so amateur, but I'm putting it out anyways.

  • @charleneosullivan4175
    @charleneosullivan4175 3 года назад +13

    Hey! When you were brushing your hair you used a lot of force to rip through your hair and you brushed from the top down. That causes quite a bit of breakage/split ends and damage etc. especially if your hair gets tangled easily. Perhaps try gently brushing from the ends of the hair gradually making your way up and you’ll prevent a lot of hair strand damage by gently getting the tangled parts rather than using too much force. I just watched a video from Sarah Ingle another science based hair youtuber and she did a whole thing on how much brushing technique affects the hair.
    I also took the 14 day challenge and am also in the monthly course. Hope this helps!

    • @EveryWander
      @EveryWander  3 года назад +2

      Thank you! I'll try those tips. Just curious, what kind of brush would you recommend? I usually use a wooden bamboo brush, but recently got a boar bristle - I'm still trying to get use to it though because it's soo different than other brushes I've used before.

    • @charleneosullivan4175
      @charleneosullivan4175 3 года назад +1

      Yes wooden is good! The primary thing to look for is having a good amount of space between the bristles. Like a wide tooth comb is good because it distributes the force more and also moves through the hair more gently because there’s more space for the hair to pass through. The video I watched she used a brush from a brand called tek and it had long bristles that were well spaced! Here’s a link to what is looks like for reference! Also I tried a boar brush but for me it frizzed my hair because mine is a bit wavy but your hair looks straight so you could try the bottom to top brushing method as the bristles are soft and so it would be more gentle!

    My holy grail when it comes to dandruff is Ducray Kelual DS. It never fails and I’ve been using it for years now. It helped me heal my scalp from seborrheic dermatitis and since I have a very sensitive scalp whenever I don’t stick with my usual products and I try out some new product that my scalp ends up not liking I get a bad dandruff but after few washes with ducray kelual it’s completely gone and it doesn’t come back unless I use some irritating product again by accident.

      I'll have to look into that! So far, the 'homemade' shampoo has been doing the trick for me whenever my scalp starts to get flakey/itchy. I'm still on the search for a good store-bought shampoo though.

      Just completed the challenge. It is worth the money. If u already lead a healthy life like exerciseing, mediating, eating healthy and protein then u probably won't learn much. I saw changes I have less hair fall (for now), the homemade shampoo is amazing. Scalp gets cleaned, hair becomes very soft and fizz free. But doesn't give volume.
      Also my scalp doesn't get oily and dirty like it used to. Its not itchy and flaky. Looks healthy

    Hello there, I loved your video.
    I have the same problem about dandruff suddenly, I went to a doctor and turned out it’s dermatitis (a condition where your scalp sec more than normal sebum, it is usually caused by physical or mental stress. In my case, it is a physical stress which is caused by my neck injury.

    • @EveryWander
      @EveryWander  8 месяцев назад

      Before the challenge, i also went to the doctor and they said it was eczema and prescribed me cream for it, but sadly I didn't see much help from that cream. I notice my dry scalp goes in and out, I'm not sure if it's because of the season changes. I'm going through the challenge and lab again, as I've fallen out of a routine, and going to try to be more consistent with it to see if it helps more! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

    • @EveryWander
      @EveryWander  3 года назад +2

      I just completed it in November! Honestly, I completed the course very lazily and spread it throughout 8 weeks instead of 5. But I think it has still made a difference! If anything, it’s made me more aware of my hair in general and I’ve been taking much better care of it. I do feel like my hair seems healthier though. I think there’s many areas where I could be more involved and take action, but one thing she mentions is taking it at your own pace building it into your routine so you don’t feel so overwhelmed that you quit. So I feel like I’m on the right track, but I still have a lot to implement!
