I'm not even 3 mins into the video and can see this man isn't just abusing the dogs he abuses his entire family
Three words: Child Protective Services.
He doesnt know being a father is not only being the one who is the head but he must also take the lead for the better lives of the whole family not only financially, being the role model for his children and being a good partner for his wife, not only by using force or shouting 😢
Is this the 1920s? Men aren’t the head of the family. Equal leadership from both partners.
@@M1nn0wso true
Yep.. And 4 minutes in shows how the circle of violence continue through generations. It's really sad to see.
i’m not even married to this man and i want to ask him for a divorce
Lol, that was funny!
Haaahaa!!! Right?! What an absolutely vile excuse for a man.
for real! what kind of man abuses his whole family, including the dogs and kids! not only mentally, but physically!?
Me too!
Perfect sentiment. I couldn't have said it better myself.
"She just cries to cry" ... do you hear yourself? This man is unbelievable!
I lost it when he said that, this is exactly why I am HAPPILY single and carefree 😊
like WHAT ??!
My ex was like that. He would accuse me of crying to be manipulative after berating me for hours.
He just sitting down on the couch and watch her getting bitten by dog or he scared that he get bitten by a dog too 😳😵
I would slapped hike
I think it would be best if the husband were returned to the shelter.
❤ 💯
I concur...!! Best comment in this section...!!
And no take backsies
Yes
It's clear this man severely abuses his entire family both physically and mentally.
Agree. This was hard to watch.
I see it very much , I know its a lot easier to say when your the one looking in, and for what its worth I was in a horrible, overly controlling relationship with my sons father, so in get it , honestly I do , but still couldnt help but think they all would be so much happier and better off without him around.
No, it's not 😂😂😂😂
@@melissabarbosa-gx7np Notice there are plenty of other comments here observing the same. Familiarize yourself with the signs and you will see it too.
23:29 bruh he admitted to beating her up. Kicking, punching, bopping 😢. It’s awful
This show has a talent for finding men who are utterly vile. How any of them have partners or children is mindboggling 🤯
Why exclude women? This show had some truly despicable ladies as well…
@@beckylietzowBc it’s mostly men who are bad in this show?
They’re at their wits end by the time assistance arrives. Having an untrained animal in your home could be extremely stressful
I don't see that as a reason for only specifying men. It's like making it look like only men are 'utterly vile'. The comment should include women too@@joey28
@@topbottomswitch The point isn't about making sure all groups have equal criticism. It's about recognizing that there's a common pattern in a lot of the men depicted on this show.
Victoria should get together with the nanny Jo Frost, both deal with the whole family not just dogs or kids they would be great together with the right families.
Oooh that would be amazingggg
Well, IMOTD was based on Supernanny. Victoria saw the first episode, realised how similar hers and Jo’s jobs are (working with everyone, using positive techniques rather than fear or corporal punishment etc.) and she ended up pitching the show to them based on that realisation.
She should be a therapist
Yeah. That would be something wouldn't it? I like them both too.
😮 now thats an idea! Id watch that!
Shawn is a clear example of how to break the cycle. He is going to be such a great person. I'm proud of how he did with this whole training. He buckled down and took it seriously. ❤
He really does seem like an absolute sweetheart, I hope he has a good life.
Considering how old this show is, I bet he's grown up to be a wonderful young man.
Totally agree! He seems like such a good, sensitive and thoughtful young man ❤
Though I won’t lie Shawn annoyed me at the start of the episode.
However at least he’s not an obnoxious waste of oxygen like his father
I hope Shaun is doing okay these days. I hope he got ptsd/trauma counceling by now. His father is horrible.
Unless u mean his father
@@Ella827ptsd/trauma trauma counseling
@@Ella827No, they’re saying that they hope that he got counselling for his trauma.
@@Ella827they said that they hope shaun gets treatment for PTSD/trauma
Shaun had the best growth on this show for real
I admire Sean's personality. He's young but he's so wise, open-hearted, and witty. I think he's going to become a great man.
Well, this show was filmed many years ago, so maybe you can look up Sean and see how he turned out.
@@tookitogowhat did u search up? I tried first and last name, nothing
@@sussy5626 I didn’t search, I was just suggesting it might be possible. Check the video for his full name and correct spelling, I think it was actually Shaun or something.
Geeze That Man needs therapy for his traumatic experience
Well, he would be one now... but I can't say that I'd agree w you.
Im sorry but, Mum isnt innocent in this story. She joined in shouting at Sean about walking the dog. She said if he didn't, the dog would end up going to the pound. So much emotional blackmail and so little insight. I truly hope they really learned from this.
That's what I thought. My family would never do this, it's toxic and unacceptable.
I don’t really agree because Pete doesn’t support Kelly, she has no other support network. Her husband tells her to stop crying and he is cold, calculating and shut off. She’s at her wits end and desperate. She might not be a saint but tbh sending the to the pound would actually be better for them
what a waste of oxygen with that guy, I not only feel sorry for the dogs and his family, but also his colleagues and work environment. his entire personality radiates rudeness and negativity.
did you catch the "welcome" matt? really tells you the kind of person you're dealing with when the matt at the front door says "go away" on it
I thought the same thing. He's an episode of Gordon Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares.
100% a Narcissist.
@@rachelbennett5438which episode???
Omg yes!!! I hadn’t even thought about the poor people that have to work under that troll!! He has no empathy for his own family, so how bad is he to his staff??
This was a hard watch.. I can’t believe he doesn’t get it. Everything is “oooh me oooh me I have to take care of my dog and kids” meanwhile the kid is like “I hid that this shooting traumatized me for a year” and the dad DOESNT CARE???
As soon as that event happened, they should have gotten him to see a therapist. Maybe he needed it, maybe he didn't, but better to have him talk to a professional.
That's probably why he hid it, because he knows his dad wouldn't care. Experiencing dismissal after opening up can hurt more than the actual trauma.
@@krdiaz8026 Bingo! And experience has likely already taught him that his dad won't care. If dad doesn't care about the little things, why would he care about the big things? The dad is a selfish baby.
the way the parents were so nonchalant when bringing up why Shaun doesn’t wanna walk the dog is so concerning
No doubt! CPS would get involved here because of a failure to get him counseling for the trauma.
@@gargwinvinesnake6961I wish CPS would. Honestly, anytime I've ever seen CPS actually make moves and get involved it goes nowhere.
I know! It's not that Shaun won't walk the dogs, he emotionally *can't* and his parents aren't supporting him.
That "Best Walk Ever" made me smile. I'm glad Shaun was able to find a moment of happiness, that kid deserves it with all the BS and trauma he's gone through. If no one has said it, Thank you Victoria for helping this kid, and his dog.
💯
Something that hasn’t been mentioned is how nonchalant the little girl was in hitting the younger dog when it misbehaved…I think that shows what exactly is going on in that house with that family
Right? It feels like nobody noticed that
I didn't see the dog do anything 😮 looked like it was just standing there.
wHy Is OuR dOg So FeArFuL?!?!
Because she was abused the second she came into a new home 🤯
Seriously
The smile from the wife when victoria talked about getting him arrested is proof the family needs him gone.
Your kid saw someone get SHOT! And you seriously wonder why he won't walk the dog?! That poor child
"I dont really care what Kelly says," wow. Awful man, you can tell he hurts his entire family all the time. I hope she leaves him for the kids sake.
I really like how direct and honest Victoria is. No fear. As to the father....His body language alone tells me he doesn't even like his family. He pretends on camera. I don’t see a happy outcome here.
So polite when he was opening the door to Victoria.
BS.
Ugh, as a mom of a teen son, I just wanted to reach through this computer and give Shaun a mom hug. That poor kid!
Same. I don't even understand this dynamic.
I have 4 kids, a handful of pets including large dogs, I work full time and am in law school in the evenings. Yet, I don't treat my spouse or kids like this, my animals are all well trained and well cared for. There's just no excuse for any of this.
These parents need to correct their own behavior before trying to fix their family dynamic or their dogs.
Him being scared of the collar choking her more than being pulled was so heart warming. It's incredible how children can grow up as amazing individuals even with "less than stellar" parents.❤
“she cries just to cry”
im sorry- WHAT?!
She's not a dog trainer, she's a human trainer.... lol.
To train the dog you have to train the owner after all! 😆
They had him ACT OUT him running with the dog away from gunshots for this episode. Ameican Its Me or the Dog is wild.
Agreed. I'm an American and get so frustrated by the American versions of UK shows.
I so hope they just got footage of him running with his dog after the training and editted it that way for the show. It still sucks but yeah...
I was thinking the same thing. Kinda messed up really.
YOU DON'T NEED TO SHOUT AT THEM THEY CAN HEAR REALLY WELL!!! 😆🤣☺
It’s sad that the dad thinks that Saun just needed to be “strong” or whatever and it wouldn’t impact him. And Sean heard that and thinks he just needs to “get over it.” Emotional intelligence is so important, and a lack of it can be passed down father to son unless the cycle stops
This man confesses his own issues with zero remorse! Like admitting he planned to train it and then changed his mind and washed his hands of it; like dude you CANT wash your hands, its YOUR dog you have to follow through. Welcome to the word COMMITMENT. and saying he screams and doesn't know why!! Oh man so manybred flags. Victoria maintains a level if professionalism i could only dream of!!
💯
And putting it ALL back on a child is wrong! Even though his son is a teenager and capable ultimately it is the parents responsibility. At the end of the day the son is still a child and the responsibility is 100% Peters.
That teenage boy is so emotionally mature. The parents need to stop and learn a thing or two from him.
He abused an animal and disrespected his family. No excuse. Makes me sick
I am allergic to the sentence: "I have high standards."
Especially when it comes out of an unhelpful man
Made me retch a little bit.
Would’ve replied ‘Mine should’ve been higher.”
Adore Sean, he really took the training to heart and gave Peter concise directions while showing how what he was saying worked to help Brook.
💙💙💙 agreed!
That pull away Caitlin did at 31:26 spoke _volumes_ about how this family raises their kids. 😬
Honestly...
I don't want to argue about how bad things are, because that's obvious- everyone in this family is traumatized, but that timestamp is just her pulling back because Victoria reached to stroke her pigtail so she ducked her head and laughed
But just before that when she yelled did you see how the two younger kids reached. The boy jumped and the girl covered her ears 😢
Yes!!! I came to the comments to see if anyone else noticed that. 😢
I hope that poor family will get away from Pete. What an absolute piece of sh*t. I feel so bad for Shaun especially. He’s been so downtrodden, but he’s such a bright, kind kid.
I found a guy that shot himself once I was out walking with my dog. It was traumatizing and I was already a lot older.
I don't get how those idiots of parents can't see what her son must have been gone through. Those people shouldn't have kids or pets
Victoria being a therapist in every episode
I don't have a dog, but the show has made me realize that the volume in my house is also very loud and I will try to be more gentle and patient, because my son is learning these habits from me.
Victoria's not only a great dog trainer, she's a good family counsellor - which inevitably helps the whole family, including the dogs.
“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, “
This is so sad.
I’m glad Peter was able to change in the end, because in the beginning it’s upsetting to see the son nearly get ran over for getting pulled and the Dad only insults the son. Which is terrible to see
Why waste anymore time call the police on this guy everyone says he changed at the end but everyone knows that man hasnt changed he will go back to exactly the way he was before the cameras came in!
Pete said, he wanted to have a better relationship with his dogs and with his kids... He never said he wanted a better relationship with his wife. 😢 I hope Pete figured that part out too.
I think they are on the verge of a divorce because at the beginning of the episode she said she would rather have Pete go than the dog which frankly I think is a good idea
@@Splintz246agree
This show really convinces me over and over that I don't want or need a husband around lol.
Thankfully, they aren't all like that.
Luckily my husband loves dogs, 😁
Well i can relate to that I had a father much more like Peter and that makes it a thing why i had so high standard for a guy in the maturity part coz like Peter my father shows hes the head hes the rule and if you cry he doesnt want that, he keep saying why cry just stop and those moments makes me think why?
And from then on i dont like guys who shout a lot, who use fist when frustrated to our pets or say bad things to us coz hes frustrated 😢
The good thing about husbands is you get to pick yours, if you do it well you get an absolute diamond that treats you, your children, your pets, family and friends really well.
🚫 Get A Husband
✅ Get A Wife
when the "welcome" matt says "go away" on it, you have a good idea of who you are dealing with
These dogs are such angels, I ended up realising that they didn't require correction of any kind, they didn't bark, they didn't nip, they didn't jump up on anyone, the leash pulling was easy to correct and one lil trick helped Princess come out of her shell, even in the beginning I saw how she kept wanting pets from her mum. They are such sweet angels, as far as I am concerned they are the ones who are keeping this family together - helping Sean and Kelly through their problems. Sean is really sweet and I am glad that he could talk to Victoria coz his dad is a mess and is emotionally unavailable and idk much about the mum, I am really glad he spoke that much to Victoria - traumatised teens usually just close down ! Father and son dog walk is such a great idea,, the boy clearly wants love from his dad. If the dad doesn't give his love now unfortunately Sean will go in the wrong path if that continues :( and Sean deserves better
No dog should be ever be abused so sad and heartbreaking 😢❤😢
Its 'beign" trained to be a "reliable" night guard
Why do people feel the obligation to have children if they don’t want to take care of them?
Exactly!!!! Same goes for their animals! Don't take on the responsibility of a living being if you are not going to care what happens!
I suffer from PTSD, too just like Shawn. I had to pick my mom off the floor when she collapsed from a diabetic seizure. She was literally dying right in my arms. I still have nightmares from that morning. My dad passed away from liver cancer three years ago. My mom is doing okay now. We adopted a Goldendoodle puppy from a good breeder. The breeder is my friend now. My dog saved my life after my dad's untimely death.
That father should not be a father. So much respect for Victoria for keeping up with people like this… but I do hope these children got some help
This is why you get to know people before having kids or even getting a dog! I couldn't be around this man for a day let alone have kids with him and he would be in jail 1st time he treated ANY animal or kid like he does!
don't need a lot of time, to figure out how bad of a person this guy is. Maybe it's the show, I don't know
"Does it take ME? A frickin' DOG TRAINER??" art
Ive seen this episode several times and i still feel the same; that 'dad' is a waste of oxygen.
Victoria doing work out of her pay grade, jeeze. This couple needs so much more help than dog training.
Such a great example of how advocating for men dealing with their emotions rather than just thoughen up and get over it, can truly change the world! the man in the beginning of this video is not the same man as the one at the end. Mind blowing!
The way this man treats his dogs and family is terrible
2:58 the fear and sadness in Brook's eyes says EVERYTHING!
So proud of the Shaun for taking responsibility for the dogs and he is amazing and so mature for his age wonderful ❤
Love Victoria’s firm and hardcore talk conversation and so the owners can understand this is serious ❤
they should rehome peter 😂
Pit bulls have a lot of drive and energy, they can be wonderful dogs, but only if someone is willing to put in the effort they need.
Well said.
I have a pocket bully and I agree I have to wake up between 4-6 in the morning walk him play with him walk him again at 10 and again at 2 before I start work at 3 I then walk him again at 6 when I come home walk him again at 8 these dogs are not for the weak and I’m only 17 but I’m way more responsible than this family
I love pit bulls & have never came across a nasty one. I couldn't have one as a pet as I'm not well enough to care for them, so I just ask "can I say hello to your dog" every time I see one 😊
I love that Shaun was better than a lot of the dog owners that pull hard on their collar because he knew doing that would make it hard for the dog to breathe
((Edited for typo
Horrible man who puts his own needs first over his family’s needs. Why even get married and have kids if you just want to focus on yourself?
The son is so sweet. And trying so hard to be the man he thinks his father wants him to be. He doesn't realize his wife is hurting and the wife doesn't realize the husband is being crushed. I really hope they just find a way to relate to each other and just let the love out!!
Sean is such a brilliant young man, my heart breaks for him!
I hope Pete doesn't revert back to his old ways......if he does I hope his wife changes the locks while he's at work. Those poor dogs and family.
Poor Shaun. I couldn't imagine a child seeing that and of course he doesn't want to walk around the neighborhood. How did they not get that poor baby into counseling as soon as that happened.
Shawn is going to be amazing. He is breaking a cycle which is possible i broke my family’s cycle. I’m so glad that Sean is doing so well for being so young and seeing such bad things. I’m glad a fellow Victoria could help them so much
There was a time when I wanted to be a dog trainer, but I changed my mind…because of humans. I dont want to manage mentally sick people like this guy.
ah yes, my son wont walk the dog because of trauma, better get a dog trainer instead of a therapist!

The thing is that dogs know whether or not you like them. And if you don't like them, then there's an issue.
It makes me so sad when people fight about taking care of the dog... Poor dog doesn't have a choice... A dog is supposed to bring good things into your life... If you can't appreciate them then find somebody who can... This is such a chaotic environment for these poor dogs and these people seem to have no patience with them... And these kids are freaking nasty too... This family doesn't deserve a dog
I loathe how people say “I don’t want to get RID OF the dogs”. As if they were garbage that can be discarded.
I cant believe Shauns parents were so oblivious to Shawn's trauma and that he had no help at all, dont they have CBT in America?

Pete is vile. Poor sean, that poor kid.
this family needs counseling both the eldest son and the parents.
I adopted a 3-month-old Malinois puppy who was so seriously abused that although we had a good life together her reactivity limited our life. I love what you said about fear memory being imprinted in the brain forever because using another famous trainer's methods for our first 6 months never decreased her Cujo response when she saw people even through car windows. So much for living in the moment.. I had been "in dogs" for over 30 years trained my own and others but this girl sent me on a quest to help her. We didn't have the life I wanted for us but n the end she was a superbly trained dog who knew love from us, ran supervised around our 2 acres, learned many ways to help me but most of all we were best pals and I loved her dearly. I always felt guilty and wondered why I couldn't help her enough to forget her past. Thank you Victoria. You help so many. There is hope for all when a light is lit.
Kein Hund ist böse aber der Mensch, dieser Mann ist das beste beispiel
Well put.
It is everyone’s responsibility to take care of the dog and take stress of the wife and it is so important plus keep the dog on a schedule ❤
Honestly, Victoria is an amazing dog trainer. But even more so she is an amazing people trainer. She walked into a toxic house and helped them on the road to breaking the cycle of generational trauma. I truly think those kids are going to have a better life for having Victoria's influence for those few days.
Breaks me when I see animals abused 💔
Why was I waiting for the backyard reveal 😅😂😂
Same. I felt robbed lol
Wow, I hope Peter continues with this calm and responsible behavior, please Peter don't stop being a good father and a good husband
You forgot the /s
We need super nanny too lol it be a great show
"It was really nice seeing him in his calm state". That actually made me cry. It's heartbreaking to hear Shaun say that. But I also kinda just get it... It's those little calm moments that make you remember your dad behind the beatings and the shouting and the name calling and the fights. And you see, for a split second, what your life could be like. But you can never trust it. Cause it can flip at any second. And that's even more heartbreaking. Wanting to trust your parents, but just not being able to. Never told my parents about some of my traumas to this day. Never saw the point. I was better at looking out for myself.
Shaun is a really brave kid, and I hope he is leading a good life today, because he deserves it. He's breaking the cycle and I hope that he managed to find love and comfort in his life. He has a lot of emotional intelligence. And you can see that Brooke is really bonded to him as well.
awful awful parents, those poor kids omg
even after Victoria left, they're still doing their usual "casual" hitting 39:53 just watch in the background
Pete needs a psychiatrist for meds to handle anger. A therapist to help him get on track. The kids need a councilor to deal with their emotional trauma
If i were Shawn, Id have a really hard time letting Pete take my dog on a walk by himself. Id be really concerned about him losing his 💩and taking it out on my dog, like he's always done before.
If I were Sean I wouldn’t allow my dog to be walked by my father. The dog is obviously very scared of Peter. I don’t trust Peter with the dogs, even after Victoria has been there.
Poor dogs. I'm glad the family gets help.
What a mature young man.
