You are very right about streamers that were born in DBD and then switch to other games though. Dowsey is a good example, at his peak he was averaging 600-800 viewers, now that he's swapped to Dark and Darker I think he's sitting at about 100-150. You will carry over some of your previous viewers who are there for you specifically but most people are there for that specific gameplay.
These dbd content creators are just too scared I think to mention you because its "controversial" . Otz so far is the only one I think recently who has the balls to have done so to involve you into a dbd discussion .

I haven't played DbD in years, but the Devs always had an artificial wall where they lived in a separate world from the community and were seeming playing a different game.

Not for nothing but Tru also gets butthurt literally every game by saying passive aggressive/sarcastic remarks like “well he has DS so it’s a wasted chase. Yep definitely needs to be buffed great job devs.” I love Tru and think he’s a great player but sometimes I just want to watch him play instead of always talking about “imbalance” every match. Not saying he’s wrong but he just seems like a half glass empty person and I think he spends too much time repeating himself which probably isn’t good for his mental health.
Ill die on the hill that spirit had counterplay pre nerf. I almost never had a issue playing against her. I played a lot of spirit so I knew her clear counterplays. We are definitely in the minority though. Most will just say youre wrong and she didnt have counterplay but Cleary she did.
@@Twilight.PrincessI havent played dbd in a very long time probably a year, and of course the nerf was many years before that but iirc, with no footsteps and addons to make the noise either all the time or abusing your terror radius standing just outside of range so they wont get the sound queue, would just leave psychology left as her only counter play no? If you have no queue as to where shes going even mid chase (in that case using the addon to make it the same volume no matter where she is) then the only way is to think about how you would act if you were them and play based on that. This is using the logical outlook Tru3 has. If there is no way to tell where shes going, how could you counterplay nothing? That doesnt make sense, you’d have to have a good understanding of the killer and the psychology behind the killer and purely guess based on that information. Guessing isnt counterplay. I dont think Spirit legitimately had any counterplay. it was guessing and based on how fast you are at adapting to a player, and how luxky you got at guessing which determined how your match went.
I don't play the game anymore but one thing i did notice is that at the lower levels of mmr, you'd get a huge imbalance in survivor skill. Some survivors not so good. Some survivors very sweaty but then die on purpose at the end. The reason this happens is that it's easy for survivors to lower their mmr without changing their gameplay throughout the match until the very end. For a killer to do that, they would have to throw the match completely and pretty much not play or stop playing after 8 hooks. So yeah emblem system was better for the game for sure
27:15 Yes this. People use this façade of "Not Trying To Win" as an excuse and do so to lose on purpose so they can continue to have "Chill" games. Survivors who die on 1st hook or throw the game or Killers that play "fun" and let Survivors go. Not trying to win and saying "I Just Don't Care About winning". Streamers who do that, it makes no sense. It confuses me. Who plays a PvP game and say "Losing is Fine"? It's silly.
But, by that logic, unless you're doing top tier content in an MMORPG then what's the point? Unless you're constantly fighting to win at the very top of a racing game, then what's the point? I just think it would be better to play this game without the skill based matchmaking thing that every video game has these days. It’s a cancer that has taken over gaming. No one had an issue back in the day when you can genuinely have fun with video games. The problem is these developers for every game out now look at these streamers and see they’re really good and think every other player wants the game to be competitive but that’s a small percentage compared to everyone else that buys a game that just wants to chill and have fun playing a video game. You can't make SWF experience worse in game, that's just equals to killing your game, so eventually you'll have to bring solo experience up to SWF. That's why open loadouts are inevitable at this point. And crazy idea, but imo, in a year moris are probably gonna be basekit and sellable item in a store (or customized for certain skins).
even with hyperfocus and stakeout + 90% great skill checks, you can't win in low tier survivor games. thats my favorite build right now but even with it you can't outplay bad team mates

How long have you been following DBD streamers? It’s common knowledge that Tru3’s opinions weren’t liked and almost everyone did a video about his takes at one point. Ill die on the hill that spirit had counterplay pre nerf. I almost never had a issue playing against her. I played a lot of spirit so I knew her clear counterplays. We are definitely in the minority though. Most will just say youre wrong and she didnt have counterplay but Cleary she did.
@@Twilight.PrincessI havent played dbd in a very long time probably a year, and of course the nerf was many years before that but iirc, with no footsteps and addons to make the noise either all the time or abusing your terror radius standing just outside of range so they wont get the sound queue, would just leave psychology left as her only counter play no? If you have no queue as to where shes going even mid chase (in that case using the addon to make it the same volume no matter where she is) then the only way is to think about how you would act if you were them and play based on that.
This is using the logical outlook Tru3 has. If there is no way to tell where shes going, how could you counterplay nothing? That doesnt make sense, you’d have to have a good understanding of the killer and the psychology behind the killer and purely guess based on that information.
Guessing isnt counterplay. I dont think Spirit legitimately had any counterplay. it was guessing and based on how fast you are at adapting to a player, and how luxky you got at guessing which determined how your match went.

I don't play the game anymore but one thing i did notice is that at the lower levels of mmr, you'd get a huge imbalance in survivor skill. Some survivors not so good. Some survivors very sweaty but then die on purpose at the end. The reason this happens is that it's easy for survivors to lower their mmr without changing their gameplay throughout the match until the very end. For a killer to do that, they would have to throw the match completely and pretty much not play or stop playing after 8 hooks. So yeah emblem system was better for the game for sure
27:15 Yes this. People use this façade of "Not Trying To Win" as an excuse and do so to lose on purpose so they can continue to have "Chill" games.
Survivors who die on 1st hook or throw the game or Killers that play "fun" and let Survivors go. Not trying to win and saying "I Just Don't Care About winning".
Streamers who do that, it makes no sense. It confuses me. Who plays a PvP game and say "Losing is Fine"? It's silly.
But, by that logic, unless you're doing top tier content in an MMORPG then what's the point?
Unless you're constantly fighting to win at the very top of a racing game, then what's the point?
It should be "losing is fine" because at the very top you're likely gonna go 50/50 unless you're the absolute best (and it's balanced, or in your favor)
But "losing is fine" =/= "losing is fine" (but I'm intentionally losing to remain low MMR where I have to intentionally lose)

Firstly the discussion was creators, not the general player base, secondly it's easy to listen to many players because if something is echoed across the community that is very clearly needing a change then its not hard. Other more successful games listen to the right people and you can see that it pays off. Warframe is a pretty good example just off the top of my head, or older battlefield games

i’d say most the community is not not toxic. feels almost 50/50. I get called trash or this or that, after saying gg as a killer or survivor and whether I win or lose way more often than I get a gg back.
I just think it would be better to play this game without the skill based matchmaking thing that every video game has these days. It’s a cancer that has taken over gaming. No one had an issue back in the day when you can genuinely have fun with video games. The problem is these developers for every game out now look at these streamers and see they’re really good and think every other player wants the game to be competitive but that’s a small percentage compared to everyone else that buys a game that just wants to chill and have fun playing a video game. Life is already stressful for many so why would we want video games to also be the same way. This is why even great players quit video games. It becomes too much. This is no reason why people feel the need to cheat more in games these days. If games were fun then I feel less people would feel the need to do that.

You can't make SWF experience worse in game, that's just equals to killing your game, so eventually you'll have to bring solo experience up to SWF. That's why open loadouts are inevitable at this point. And crazy idea, but imo, in a year moris are probably gonna be basekit and sellable item in a store (or customized for certain skins).
even with hyperfocus and stakeout + 90% great skill checks, you can't win in low tier survivor games. thats my favorite build right now but even with it you can't outplay bad team mates

How long have you been following DBD streamers? It’s common knowledge that Tru3’s opinions weren’t liked and almost everyone did a video about his takes at one point. I remember streamers openly bashing him for talking back to BHVR up to a point where he lost his partnership with them just because he was the only one who talked back when the game was at its peak.
