I said Hillbillies in pubs are usually boring, which is the case for me. They are not good and usually just turn in to either "curve" billies which are boring or full m1 hasn't even learned what a chainsaw is boring. As someone with 1k+ hours on billy alone and probably over 300+ 1v1ing against him, the only fun billy matches are good lo pro / zoning billies which are RARE. Doctor is fun because of having to know how to loop doctor specifically, which is a whole different style of looping, something similar to what you have to do vs nurse as in learn the basics of 1v1ing all over in order to succeed against him. Loops that can are structured in a way that you can run around them in a very fun way and delay a hit by long amounts of time unless the survivor makes a mistake are some of the most fun things in the game for me, end of story. These were personal takes which were probably hot takes for the majority of the community, which as I understood it was the entire point of the tweet. Off topic, but huntress is and has always been a hatchet holding world championship contest which is dead boring and I just dislike that about her. if the huntress is good, she will almost always get the hit when she has a chance to zone, which is quite often.
I agree with the Doctor take, it's the one killer I always love seeing in my matches cause I know I'm going to get to play to my own strengths and mindgames with pallets and windows, instead of a chase power.
I don't agree with Scott's take that 'Doctor guarantees hits at every loop.' I feel like Scott had a bad experience with the one good Doctor main in the entire game and just vents that frustration every time he talks about Doctor's balance. Doctor can be a really fun killer to verse and most of them don't know the timing of their shocks so there's always plenty of counter play. A good Doc, however, is a tough one to go against - but how many good Doctors are there actually?
@@Henu__hy aren't you just happy that someone even gives Billy a try.. It's just you having a high standards for "fun" billy matches. Most people think putting 1k+ hours in 1 of 30 killers is boring. If you want more good Billys that badly make a proper guide for this killer or teach other people. Show the people your new way of playing him. Most guides just teach you flick Billy. That's it. And even if you pick that up it's worth something. Because to the average dbd player Billy is just a killer with an ability that gives you great movement speed and a hard to use insta down while adding bad maneuverability to the mix (compared to other killers). So most people don't even end up flicking. They don't even try at all. At best they just use his chainsaw for mobility and his M1 to deal damage.
@@oliverhardy9464 what a bad take lmao. If you don’t like the food, why don’t you just become a chef? If you don’t like the game why don’t you just become a game dev? These kinds of argument are so bad and you are not smart for using them.
I think we need to have these sorts of conversations more often. While I may not agree with 100% of them, I do agree they are discussions worth having. Going the route of "Get Good" or simple personal attacks are purely detrimental and only cause further divide.
yea but the community, all they do is just argue about the game and im kind of bored of hearing it over and over and over, the same "killer is op" or "survivor is op" it hasnt changed
I had a match where a killer downed me and camped my body for the 4+ minute bleedout timer and my teammates refused to do gens. It was the most agitating shit ever.
You’re bullshitting. It couldn’t have been the most agitating shit ever otherwise the killer would have swiftly taken you to the hook instead. Didn’t happen.
I have seen quite a bit of people complain about being tunneled just because they were being hooked a second time. As if there’s a specific timer of immunity. Killer goes and hooks someone else, they either happen to get found next, or they go for the unhook and become the next target… if the former happened quickly it can feel like tunneling but it’s basically “I recently got hooked nooooo” really focused in the wrong direction
i think part of the reason people think survivors dc more often is just because there’s 4 survivors and one killer. so, assuming each player has an equal chance of dc’ing, it is a lot more likely a survivor will dc
Holy balls yes, DCs absolutely should count as kills. Even as Moris for the Evil Incarnate achievement. Some achievements should honestly be reworked (maybe a hottake on my part here)
@@LuckyKat89TV After I just recently got Evil Incarnate (after 6 years of it being in the game) : yes let me keep it lmao. But rework Myers so he can Mori from a grab/carry as well so no more locker denies. The 3 blink one is kind of ok since you can technically farm it. Also you are not completely reliant on the red add-on where as Myers you MUST have at least Tombstone, Infinite T3 is also very recommended
About the tunneling thing, I think that guy's statement is correct close to 50% of the time. When I play killer, I often have a survivor in my games who isn't great in chase first of all, but who also just makes very bad plays after being unhooked. If they don't manage to get a heal off, they tend to just run around the map mindlessly and eventually crash face first into me. These types of players don't seem to understand how to get to safety while injured or have any game sense about where I might be going or what I'm doing as the killer at any given moment. They always wind up putting themselves in a terrible position. Often this results in "tunneling" or hooking the same person twice in a row because they're constantly making themselves an easy target. So I know what that guy means.
either that or the person who gets unhooked runs straight at you expecting you to just hit them and leave them. i do that sometimes or ignore them, but then they think they're invincible and immune according to their own rules so they take the time to show they hate the killer in some way. like i had a carlos body block for a feng in RPD after getting unhooked, i tried shooting the feng with deathslinger and ended up shooting carlos instead since he blocked the doorway and so i just waited out the timer as he was harpooned and i just killed him lmao.
Yep bad survivors make tunneling easy so killers should absolutely take advantage of that. The devs will still punish the killer though and continue to hold the survivors hands and encourage them to not improve at the game or even use an ounce of thought
I have never seen a gaming community make so much of a fuss over such a simple action…(But I understand that it can be easily done out of toxicity although most of the time it’s not)
Was watching a stream the other day and he went against a P100 Skull Merchant. I hope that killer gets some help and learns to love themselves because they definitely hate themselves right now.
a thing about nurse - in my opinion what makes her "hard" is not learning mechanical skills but understanding SURVIVORS and how good players will react to your decisions and shit
I wouldn’t say either part is hard to be honest. Nurse is so fast at catching up that after the first 1-2 blinks, you know how the survivor plays against Nurse. There’s too many decisions to react to against her for survivors to mix it up fast enough unless they are genuinely top comp level. Once you learn her extreme basics and she’s not your first to play, you’ll win every match. She was only ever considered Gard back when scratch marks and maps were much harder to see and survivors were way quieter.
Absolutely. Not trying to say that she's anything but head and shoulders above the rest of the killers, but anyone who's even fairly new to the game (or even just Nurse in general) is going to have a very rough go in the beginning.
With nurse hot take I would disagree, but ONLY if you go against decent group of survivors. They understand that pathing and line of sight, so they will constantly switch it up, add lucky break and other perks to lose Los and it's pretty tough. Now there is exceptions such as open maps (cornfield ( and lack of LOS blockers, but I think given the right circumstances nurse does require a deeper understanding of survivor pathing and knowledge works. Thanks for listening to my ted talk.
Especially in indoor places (discounting the game) where you rarely see the survivor. You really have to get that 6th sense for where you have to appear in order to sweep them off their feet, and you have to do that usually with 0 info. This dude honestly lost all credibility when he talked about nurse and it is clear that he (even by his own admission) hasn't played much nurse, and thus has never had to face high mmr survivor groups that know how to play. One moment you think you're winning because you are hooking people left and right but still they somehow manage to get the gens done in record time.
I acknowledge that STBFL is really only good on a killer that can mitigate stack loss, but I still use it on almost everyone because its a comfort perk that lets me counter hook bombing.
Even on killers that can’t, I think it’s still good. I don’t lose much if I find the obsession early, and even if they try taking hits healing is way worse then it used to be. I think it only sucks on killers that don’t want to do more then a single M1 at most. Ever since 6.1 that perk is disgustingly good.
I would be really happy if they added some kind of gimmick like the invitations to base game, it adds more depth to the game and i personally have been enjoying the anniversary event for the most part.
Honestly, I feel like not enough people run Potential Energy. It's not some god tier amazing perk but it's mad fun to just shit out 20% progress infront of a Killer's face, and it also helps with 3 gens.
Why get so high with that though? If you’re DCing you’re not having fun, and doing that multiple times in a row means you should’ve just stopped a long time ago.
@@leiah6514 It was my only DC of the day it just carried over from yesterday. It takes like over 24 hours for it to start going down from what I’ve seen. I’m just not the type to make myself go through bs just for other people to have fun
On Pinhead, I never ran franklins. Because you'd have to drop chase to pick up the box. Instead, I loved running hoarders to be able to interrupt the solving and get an easy down. Was so easy to snowball chain hunts that way and I'm sure the survivors *loved* it
I never understood why people liked it so much either. There’s a dozen other perks better (especially for securing that down earlier) and it’s anti-synergy with the advantage of the box. Hoarder is a comfort perk when you don’t want to constantly micromanage the box on top of where every survivor is, but Franklin’s just sucks unless there happens to be 4 medkits on top of that.
I very rarely go to higher than bloodlust one, but as a newer killer it's completely needed especially now with Made for This making the game easier if you just drop chases in even mildly survivor-sided setups as said. The left fence coming out of Garden of Joy main against a survivor with MfT and if you do decide to chase is always a bloodlust proc with no way to secure the hit without it.
Hot Take: The devs should take a year off of making new content and put all their resources into game health, balancing, and QoL changes. Maybe even move to a new engine.
That would be actually a terrible idea I am not even gonna lie, during that time they would make next to zero dollars, and IDK about you, but if a game is making next to no income for a year most higher ups would shut it down at that point. I would say at most maybe 1 chapter is dedicated to balance, health, and QOL, but if you spend a year without any chapter releases this game would tank in player numbers and revenue.
Unfortunately, due to how licensing works, they probably can't do that, atleast not right now Licensing agreements are done usually months if not an entire year in advance, because of how long development takes, they probably have like 3 or 4 pending licenses rn and they would have to put those on hold if they were to take a break right now, which is probably the worst decision they could take from a business standpoint
This is only a hottake if your company is capitalist in nature. If their company wasn't focused on growing over creating a good product, this is common sense
The only DC's I have an issue with are the ones that dodge a specific killer, dodge if they go down one time, or dodge if they get hit once. When I was trying to shake up DBD by going for Adept killer achievements, I'd get a good game and someone DC's like this puts a sour taste in my mouth. I am glad bots are replacing players, it gives the survivor team a chance and a killer doesn't get cheated out of an adept.
The problem with “gen rushing” is that the game has gotten to a state where it could go 50/50. Survivors could meme and run head-on flash bang and just mess around with the killer while in a diff match survivors could run Deja vu, prove, and built to last with a green toolbox, charge ad-ons and adrenaline. The problem with that is that you’re no longer going against survivors, you’re going against perks, items, and ad-ons. But then again the killer could do the exact same thing and run all regression perks and make the game extremely long and/or challenging. Basically if you’re trying to meme and have fun or try a build that’s not strong enough to combat survivor perks and items then expect to lose a handful of games unless you’re just a god at micromanaging.
Stbfl on Demo is overrated. You're much better playing without it and going for shreds with black heart than focusing on stbfl. You'll be much better with shreds too.
For DCs, in a multiplayer game pressing the matchmaking button is pretty much a confirmation of you willing to play the whole game. In DbDs case it's not the most competitive or the streamlined in balancing, so if a Skull Merchant or a no-hook slugger is stretching the intended game loop, then I understand my teammates. But in 90% of the cases it's just the player throwing a fit, and if you have a bad day and take it out on one match, then the blame is on the DC'r but it's fine if they just go touch grass. Though if they after that are intending to que into another game to have "a better time" you have actual problems that need solving if the reality of the state of the game makes you feel that bad.
No Knight is fun now. For killer at least, hitting crazy long distance shots and getting Carnifex to chase one dude while you're chasing another, and whenever Assassin lands a hit. I dunno about survivor though he might suck for them.
@@BuffAce Miserable power plus the fact that I've never had a match where the Knight didn't hard camp or tunnel at 5-4 gens makes him probably my least favorite killer to go against.
Killer is easier if you compare it to solo q survivor. I can only play a few games of survivor before switching back to killer these days. (Win condition I should add)
Must be nice I play killer and get the sweatiest survivors every single game ever since they changed mmr, at this point might just quit playing killer.
@@ServantOfTheSouthI feel you dude, I'll play a few matches on my fav killers, get absolutely ass smashed 3 matches in a row, then sometimes I get a lobby of like first timers and I start destroying them before I realize it cas I think I got to take advantage before they wreck me. Then when I realize it I feel bad and end up letting the last 2 do gens and leave. I've been playing survivor because to me, maybe bc I haven't played survivor as often, but it's fun going against a good killer, even a camping killer, but it's absolutely not fun going against 4 good swf's.
@@Pablo-pr4vg Because I try to enjoy the game as killer even if I get put up against people far past my own skill level, played this game for years and it was enjoyable going up against people around my skill but since they changed mmr I get put up against people that play the game everyday like it’s a job. Goofy question.
20:21 I actually agree in most of the cases : Survivors bodyblocking you (particularly in the RPD where you can't dodge them), saving as they get unhooked or clicking me with their flash lights. I think that basekit BT shouldn't be used to block the killer, it's not a gameplay element to delay the Chasse with the rescuer, it's a savety state that allows you to run away the furhest you can during these 10 seconds, and if you get hit, you gain more distance. But if you bodyblock me, I'm just gonna wait these 10 seconds. If you unhook in front of me, yeah it's my role to punish. I won't just be kind cause you just get unhooked. And if you clicking me, you just deserve to be tunneled X) . So yeah, some killers tunnel, but for some other killers, you just play carelessly and they take advantage of that. When you are dead on hook, you have to heal. When you are dead on hook, you have not to take the rescue. And just by doing that, even if you are the fairthest killer in the world, you would be insulted by 4 people each match as if you were the worst person in the world, and when they came to your stream for that, it's you that is not kind for destroying this person instead of letting him alone. (I get bullied so maybe I overreact, but I do insomnias remembering their insults...)
This is an easy enough fix. Simply disable collision for about 3 seconds on unhook. Then you can tunnel the unhooked surv if you want to or walk through them to get to the juicy altruist on the other side of the slippery meat.
"And if you clicking me, you just deserve to be tunneled X)" The only people who think this way are literally among *the worst players in the entire game* A player clicking their flashlight is not making distance and not doing gens. Literally the exact thing you want them to be doing. If a click noise every 1.5s is so triggering to you, you need therapy; Badly. You are just a thin-skinned, emotionally stunted clown that needs to go outside and touch some grass.
People have definitely used 'toxic' way too often in the wrong scenarios. Whenever I get tbagged/clicky clicked I always just see it as a sign of disrespect to me as the killer and if it was a game where I think I was playing fair/the survivor didn't play well and I get disrespected then I would get mad. I play plenty of League of Legends where legitimate toxicity has been used against me several times and it has less of an effect on me than DBD disrespect. Maybe I'm just soulless playing League idk.
Fun fact (regarding the Pinhead “hot take”): they recently changed hoarders and franklins to not work with killer items. I.e med spray, the box, vaccines, and any other killer exclusive items
People use the word boring to describe anything they dislike in this game, and they've done it for years because they just don't want to come out and say what they really think, whether because it's true or because they're just terrible at a game that isn't competitive or as difficult as they think (but it is for them)
I think the best they can do to make 3gens more tolerable is to fix gen spawn logic a bit. 2 gens could spawn close to eachother but in such a case none will spawn within a certain area to at least help minimize it a bit.
Doing this would btw help bring buffs back to some of the more problematic 3gen perks and allow for less of a problem designing perks as 3gens are less of a factor.
My hot take would be SM is actually fun and I enjoy the playstyle of controlling certain areas. I use my drones as scouts. I place them in high traffic areas or at important gens to hold (ones with good loops or shack) that survivors usually swarm for. This removes the need to learn your “macros” when I feel like its been too long I’ll activate a drone I hid behind a wall to check on a specific gen. If I hear a ding and see the blip and know this specific chase has gone on too long and this person is running me too well and I’ve overstayed my welcome. I usually run no gen defense so I obviously dont do well, I run aggressive builds (brutal, bamboozle, jolt and eruption. Along with her purple add on to increase my movement speed slightly and increase a specific set of actions by 15% and a brown of my choice for drones. Usually activation.
"hot take would be SM is actually fun" " I enjoy the playstyle of controlling certain areas" You missed the entire point. It was about her not being fun to play *against* not as. Your hot take is actually just your inability to understand what's being talked about. No one cares that you enjoy dragging the game out for 50m. SM is bad for the game's health and I share the opinion of Scott that SM players have no right to cry when players refuse to stay in the match. Pay better attention in class.
"hey guys, Scott here" is like a warm blanket on a cold day. Makes me warm and cozy My hot take is that killers don't kill you, teammates do. But I don't think that's too hot. I'm just mainly a solo q player
I disagree on the legion point. I get that he's not that good but i just don't think he's fun to go against. Yeah i get to actually play the game when he chases me eventually, but until then he'll just get a free frenzy hit unless you play legion chicken at a pallet then he MIGHT chase you or take off and you get to sit there and do nothing for like 16 seconds.
Genrushing, in context of what Scott is saying, does/did exist in some form. If you look at the old depip squad videos Marth and his swf did showed just that. One guy would run the killer for as long as possible while everyone else did gens and when that guy gets hooked the team would just leave him there to die (unless the person was hooked nearby and he could be saved quickly), finish gens, and get out. But the game was a lot different back then. I'm not sure depip squad would be something you can consistently do anymore.
Hot take? They should add some fragile pallets to maps that aren’t tied to the event that don’t replace regular pallets, i really enjoy the risk reward of it as survivor, and as killer it’s fun when i have enduring and get free spirit fury, or when i bait them into throwing it down
My hot take: Survivors should start less spread out. Any time I have a game against remotely decent survivors, I can find someone within about 10 seconds of the game starting and get a down roughly 30-40 seconds later on average, but if that doesnt happen then the likelihood that the other 3 were all on gens and suddenly im at 2 gens with no downs skyrockets. Obviously there's lots of counterplay to this but t's just one of those uncomfortable trends with the game for me where I don't like having to run corrupt or face a 50/50 chance of being at a huge advantage or disadvantage within the first minute or so of a game, especially when maps like cowshed and abattoir exist.
I disagree with DCing immediately against killers or other things you consider “unfun” or “boring”. You aren’t playing a single player game where only you matter, and you aren’t in a 1v1 with that Skull Merchant or Sadako playing the condemn playstyle. You have teamates that don’t always have the same opinions that you have on things that you consider so unfun or boring, and if you DC then now you are the one making the match unfun because you just made it impossible to win. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t think going against a Skull Merchant guarding a 3 gen, or a Sadako slugging you is fun or entertaining, but that doesn’t mean I have permission to not play the match if I happen to go against those things. It’s not impossible to win those situations despite them being boring or unfun, and they aren’t very common to begin with. Like Scott said, it isn’t the killer players fault Skull Merchant is boring when they guard a 3 gen, it’s the devs fault. So what does DCing out of a match do outside of ruining it for the Skull Merchant and your 3 teammates that could’ve potentially wanted to play that match out normally? DCing isn’t going to make your next Skull Merchant match any more entertaining than the one you left, lmao. Deal with it.
Hot Take: The largest issue with DBD is gen speed. And I don't mean it in a "oh these darn gen rushers" I mean gen speed as a whole has way too much variability and it needs to be done away with. Everything and anything that has a direct effect on gen speed needs to be removed. The only things that can affect gens anymore should be gen blocking perks, and kicking gens.
My hot takes: - Hillbilly is boring to face (as a former billy main). - If you get tunneled every game you're just bad and theres nothing to blame on the killer. - Survivors perks are the most healthy they ever been (except MFT) and people who complaing about them are bad at the game. - Nurse and blight are incredibly fun to face. - Playing as blight or wesker is the most fun you can have in this game.
Being tunneled doesn't mean you're bad if it's 100% the killer's choice to do so. I could be absolutely destroying the killer and making them angry which is why they'd want to tunnel me, but would that make ME bad in that scenario? No it wouldn't.
This hot take video was pretty good. Looking foward to more. Hot take: DBD is in a good state, and there are no boring killers nor playstyles. Content creators are the reason the game seems that way. If you have a bunch of people playing a game as their job, they will find and do everything there is to do and min max the game, then complain about it being boring. Then mindless Timmy's and Jane's will regurgitate that, even though they only play like 2 hours every week or don't play at all. Ignore the content creators if they're info is making your games boring, experiment and you know, have fun, and just play the game.
My general gaming hottake is that it's absolutely your responsibility to ensure the people you play with have fun and you should always blame the PLAYER, not the game. The player is the one making the decision after all.
I agree partially on this. More specifically, it is the players fault when they abuse something that just isn't really fixable. Using DbD as an example, sometimes as Killer I will just have the last 2 survivors in the match hide for as long as possible while not progressing the 1 or 3 gens that are left to do, thus prolonging the match. I have no idea how any dev can fix something like that so realistically it's on the player themselves. However someone choosing to abuse a broken add-on, item, perk or pick chess merchant, that's 100% on the devs.
A personal killer thing I do, I like to go for the one person at the start of the match rather than the group. My reasoning is that if 3 people hop on the same gen, I can get a down by the time they do 1 gen, if I go to the group then I have to chase one of them and someone else is just going to get on the gen anyway and the person who was alone is going to be away splitting pressure, so multiple gens will finish instead of 1. Whether or not to go to the group really depends on the killer your playing in my opinion. Legion, Oni, Twins, yeah I will go to the group. A killer with a great chase power I have at the start of the game like Wesker and Spirit I think its better to make sure they cannot split pressure at the start. I looked over all the killers trying to figure out whats best for both sides, and I am surprised at how many of them are neutral in this.
"STBFL in only worth running on 3 killers", unless you play it with Game Afoot, it's on my HUX's build and I freaking love this combination, it lets you use the perk on a M1 killer without having to worry that much on losing a lot of stacks. If the survivor you're chasing becomes the obsession at the first hit, you'll lost only two stacks. If it becomes one when downed, you don't lose stacks, and you can freely hit the previous obsession.
The tunneling discussion towards the end - as a surv main, I do fancy playing Dredge and Singularity when I do play killer. I remember a game relatively recently that I had as Dredge on Midwitch against a TTV 4 man swf. I was running a Make Your Choice build, didn't choose the map, they actually did. I downed a Cheryl relatively quickly. Hooked her and was about to teleport away/was walking out of the room I hooked her in and here comes the ttv, a P100 Nancy, running straight into me. I smack her and down her, she traded at 5 gens. The other two were on gens and I needed them to get off, so although I had no intention of outright tunneling, if I just hooked Nancy and went to look for someone else I'd be at a major disadvantage. I planned to Slug Nancy and down Cheryl just to go back and hook Nancy and find someone else/let them pick her up, but they picked Nancy up, so when I redowned Cheryl I just hooked her. At this point 1 gen was done and I started a chase with a goated Feng and intentionally let them reset. I knew I should've left chase optimally, but it was fun. She was smart. She ran me for 3 gens. Hooked her and then I ran back into Cheryl and took her out. Now there's 3 people, two of them have 0 hooks and Feng is on her first hook at 1 gen left. It was looking grim, but I knew it was still possible. I found Nancy, just running around the entire game locking all of my lockers. She didn't put up much of a fight (as she had run down to basement to lock lockers after I injured her). Hooked her and got a MYC proc. Feng left Nancy on hook to finish the last gen as I chased Kate, so Nancy dies. I finally down Kate smack in the middle of the courtyard and now all I gave to do is watch her body and the doors which are right across from each other.. pretend to teleport away to draw Feng out for the pickup. She picks up in my face and I redown, then chase her and down her with the event exposed effect (which I didn't even know was a thing at the time, was trying to break a pallet). I went to say ggs and they told me to gtfo, that I wasn't welcome. Nancy was nice at first, said ggs back, then later rescinded the gg because I tried to explain from my POV when they complained about me tunneling Cheryl and went off saying that I should stick to survivor (I had mentioned I was a surv main with 5k+ hours), that I was 'supposed to hook Nancy and let Cheryl go, that's how the game works' and that I was a trash human being followed by a prompt block so they could continue to complain without any rebuttals. I had even applauded Feng, but it was only met with hostility because they were mad about Cheryl. I know they were wrong, they made very poor decisions and blamed it on me, but people like them are the reason there's so much resentment for survivors. I didn't get it because we don't act like that. It's frankly embarrassing to see this is what represents us. These are the loud minority.
I think that they completely ruined the anniversary event this year. I played the first few days of it and got so sick of getting bloodlusted and insta downed or having a pallet breaking without the killer doing it so I get no distance I just stopped playing pubs. On killer it's not as bad but just the concept of survivors being able to SPAWN PALLETS is the stupidest shit ever. I knew this event was going to be terrible the moment they announced what you're going to be able to do and I'm so glad this shit is almost over. Rant done.
Yeah I completely agree with you about Legion. Legion is fun to play against because they're a skill check. Not the timing you have to hit when doing gens, just the concept of a skill check. Unless they're running the absolute best stuff and/or they're super good at Legion/killer (and to a degree even then), Legion is a test to see if you are a good survivor in general. Do you know how to spread pressure effectively? Can you avoid making mistakes in chase? If so, then you'll do well against a Legion. If not, then you will struggle. Legion's power relies on survivors being close enough together to chain Feral Slashes, so spreading pressure (which is a skill good survivors have) is very effective to counter their power. Legion's power takes away your safety net of being healthy, so if you can avoid making a mistake in chase (which is a skill good survivors have) then you'll be able to last for a while against them. Legion kinda reminds me of certain early skill check bosses in games like Margit in Elden Ring (although beating a Legion in dbd is much easier lol); they can pubstomp you and they teach you how to play well and force you to get good. And once you do get good, it feels so good to face them again and see just how much you've improved. For a new player (and sometimes skilled players too I guess) Legion can be an intense killer to go against when they force you to leave the assumed safety in numbers and punish you for trying to play super safely and healing and force you to play more risky. But when you learn how to do it well, it's very fun. People think Legion is boring to play against because of Deep Wound (which isn't even unique to Legion but whatever), but them spending time in Feral Frenzy to hit you is usually only worth it if it'll let them refresh their timer and get to someone else, in which case you might be too close to your teammates (or they just stab you to apply Deep Wound and waste your time, which is fair enough, but I'd still say that's a Deep Wound the status condition problem, not a Legion problem.)
Well said. It’s not even that hard to play against Legion from a strategic level but many don’t get it. Even if you need to heal that’s not what’s bad, obviously if you can stay injured it’s generally better but most people just stay so close together and stay still when Legion is in frenzy rather then running immediately and trying to force them out of it. Even the bots get this concept vs. Legion.
Scott, I actually do have a friend who is almost at 1k hours and has never touched killer. Ive told him over and over, if you wanna learn how killers and even survivors work then play both roles. He refuses
there's a lot of survivor players like that. the game is definitely NOT 50/50 in terms of playerbase for roles btw lmao. you physically cannot have an even amount of players on both sides all at the same time. for every killer that queues up, there's 4 other survivors queued up. when did scott suck ass at math so much? lol
I definitely agree that disconnecting isn’t a huge deal. I don’t do it often when I play games but if I do, it’s because I’m getting so frustrated and so angry that it’s counterproductive and I’m not having any fun and I just want a fresh start and if I the new match or take a break. Whether it’s DBD, smite, or whatever game. Games are played to have fun. If you aren’t having fun leave. And if you find yourself constantly disconnecting, ask yourself why you still play that game
I've been running no perk killers to try and get my macro up and tbh. It has made me more aware of my surroundings due to not relying on information perks all the time. I'm still getting cooked a lot that way though but eventually it'll click
The problem i find with this is that they're a lot of things you simply can't guess and not commiting to a chase to check a gen when an other pop is unavoidable. But it is a good way to learn macro if you have been using gen info too much tho if yoûre not use to them, using them can also teach you a lot.
My ultimate hot take is that mirror myers is extremely boring. They all camp. Always. Every time. It annoys me that they think they're being spooky and fun when they pop up from around a corner on Lery's when I go for an unhook. Like...oh wow I wonder where he could be...wow no way he was camping with 32m wall hacks ahhh... So scary...🙄
7:42 that does bring up something, with the bots its now worse to off yourself on first hook rather than DC because offing yourself on hook won't leave you with a bot, but that is the way to leave a match with some BP and no DC penalty
I will say it's a damn good game, but that's coming from someone who loves horror genre and is fan of most of licensed stuff they brought into game. If i weren't into all these movies etc. and horror games in general, i'm not sure if i'd like DbD as much. It has a lot of flaws and balancing issues, but it knows how to sell itself which is why other games like that fail in comparison even if they are more polished.
My hot take is that not only solo survivor is the worst/least fun way to play the game, but it is in fact slowly getting worse and less fun with each patch.
Yo Scott, I had an idea for a New Game Mode for DBD. It's a simple idea that is already used, but not yet legitimized by BHVR. Dead By Daylight - Blood, Sweat, and Tears it is a DBD 1v1 experience set in 3 categories 1) Blood- No Perks, Add-ons, Or Power... (Trapper Only, NO Power) *Special Tournament-style map made specific for this mode ONLY *Leaderboard options for this Mode 2) Sweat- No Perks or Add-ons... Just Killer Power (All available Killers) *Players vote on map... one map of the two gets chosen 3) Tears- All Perks, All Add-ons, AND Killer Powers (All available Killers) *Players choose 3 maps to VETO 1 Killer, 1 Survivor All Maps Available (Exception: Blood) Killer and Survivor Start at Shack (or predetermined In Line of Sight Facing each other. Simple Chase and Down... Both Parties get points depending. Once a down happens, Entity Grabs survivor (Like EGC), then map resources are reset. Mode lasts for 20 min or 3 downs (Whichever comes first) Please, let me know what you think... Maybe you can make a video showcasing this idea and give your Yay or Nay on the Subject?... Easy $ for you
My hot take: outside of the very obvious situations "teabagging" is not toxic. There's very few forms of expression and of them the "teabag" looks the funniest imo. Best other one is nodding but console doesn't let you have a high enough sensitivity to make it funny. Not everyone teabagging is trying to be toxic.
To bad then, teabagging since the dawn of multiplayer video games that allow players to crouch it is 100% toxic. it's undeniable that when it is used its an intended way of showing someone that you show no respect for them as a player or as another human. The only time someone gets t-baged by me is if their a piece of shit doing something that is explicitly intended to upset me example t-bagging!!!
STBFL is the best perk in the entire game because the Apotheosis of Killer Gameplay is facecamping, and STBFL is one of the few perks in the game actively help this gameplay. STBFL, Deadlock, No Way Out, NOED. congratulations you too can be a comp killer, because the only way to circumvent the skill gap between you and a fresh install survivor is to actively look for ways to remove all skill from both roles.
Face camping only works with teams who are incredibly altruistic (or sometimes in comp, certain killers will camp to second stage, but not to death). If a team just decides a survivor is a lost cause, as most good and especially pro teams will, it is almost always a negative. Also in high MMR settings and especially with pro-teams, reassurance is common making face camping even less effective. It really is only a good strategy at the end of a game if a killer needs to secure a kill by any means necessary. Your comment reeks of a true skill issue.
Killer losing from face camping would be "positive punishment" not "negative reinforcement" just fyi. Positive punishment discourages behavior by introducing something averse (losing). Negative reinforcement is taking away something averse. Commonly mixed up, but negative reinforcement would be taking away something that's annoying you to encourage your behavior.
I was never so happy to be Skully main. I don't agree with her being able to only 3-gen,but you need correct builds for normal playstyle. I don't even consider her best killer for 3-gen, but it is easy to do for sure.
@@lordsavior1559 So let's start with killers that are good at 3-gen overall: Nurse, Blight, Spirit (kinda obvious) Demogorgon, Knight, Legion, Wraith, Artist, Singularity Best 3-gen you can do is Wesker with iri addon (survivors start infected). Basically survivors have 12 spreys total, iri addon takes 4. Then during game you focus mainly on infecting survivors. It's not that hard to get result where you hold 3-gen and everyone is infected. Mainly unlike Skully, Wesker has strong chases + mobility. But who are you scared more, Skully or Nurse holding a blink inside 3-gen in range to all gens? 3-gen is not an issue overall (after CoB build nerfs). Just some maps -> RPD, Saloon for example.
Having a match as a killer when survivors have pallet after pallet, then all the gens are done before you can even get one hook is usually why I quit as the killer. I don't wanna sit around and wait for them to get out of the exit gates, or get those pity points.
I was the tweet that followed Scott’s own tweet (mine was the one about DCing) and feels kinda good to have someone with a bigger platform agree with me for once. Thank you Vile Scott
With the new DC bots honestly it's not a big deal, my only qualm with it was how being a man down sucked for the last three and now that's not much of an issue since the bots are pretty alright.
13:30 and making survivor step in the wrong place and predicting where they’ll be and reading them to know if they’re going to vault a window right next to them or not
One idea I had for Bloodlust was: Keep Bloodlust 1+2 the same, but change Bloodlust 3 into a *slowdown* for the killer - they move slower than survivors. This would help killers out if they're troubled at a loop, but then if they pursue one person for too long *without* considering an alternative action like using their power or breaking a pallet, they get punished for relying too heavily on it. Bloodlust's intention is to just help end a chase, and that would theoretically help with it the opposite way, especially if B3 is coded to reset if the killer swaps targets.
Huntress is boring and terrible because the game's hitboxes are worse than Roblox -- and its so lenient and rewarding for a huntress player getting hits when the character model is like, 3 whole models away from the hit.
Before i state this, i haven't played against the two new killers, but I think Sadako is the most fun killer to play against. I think playing against her is more enjoyable than any other killer in the game, i can't complain when i face her.
Knight is a big victim of the time he was released in the midst of the 3 gen meta, a power as versatile, unique, and possibly creative as his being released in a time where one of his better strategies was something that was reviled at the time (not to mention his almost Binding Of Kin esk launch state)… Artist has all the 3 genning possibilities that Knight has, arguably worse… but she wasn’t released in this time.
That is a crazy take imo. I am a former Artist main btw. The Artist cannot remotely pressure 3-gens in the same way Knight can. Artist can shoot gens from a distance, but you can hear the birds coming and simply move off the gen. She has to stop and place the birds twice to even potentially damage a person, or spend time staggering two birds to stack them and guarantee a hit. Birds are also countered by lockers, so if you are on a gen near lockers you are safe unless Artist personally comes over to pressure you, or she spends the time to stagger birds (she cannot pressure anything else at all for a decent amount of time during that process). Knight on the other hand only needs to place down an AI bot to run over to a gen which can chase survivors WELL away from the generator or get a free hit without any concentration from the killer. The Knight during this can pressure ANOTHER survivor/gen at the same exact time. His AI's can also kick gens for him and break pallets, saving a lot of time. Yes he does need to stop as well to send out a vassal, but it's much more mindless afterwards and requires much less time than Artist (by which I mean Artist securing a hit with birds, not just getting birds on someone), and with detection range addons it is extremely difficult to avoid being detected by his Vassals (because it also increases the speed at which the radius expands to be faster than survivors can run). His Vassals can also go up/down in elevation, while Artist's birds largely cannot. Vassals can also patrol an area to prevent survivors from re-entering that area for a time. The Knight is SO much better at pressuring and holding a 3 gen. It's also pretty much brainless to do so with him.
@@cook1ezzInteresting argument, in all fairness Artist is just one of the examples of killers. But the fact that he can 3 gen is not my point, it’s the fact that released in a time where that was popular and it attached that stigma to him that I wish people could see through, Artist is the same way. She CAN hold a 3 gen well. But she doesn’t HAVE to, but people just don’t seem to get that to Knight. Because Knight can do SO MUCH MORE!!! He has such tactical and strategic skills, a killer with a versatile power that can fit many play styles! Wanna go for a Hex based Devour build, Go for it. Wanna go for an anti pallet build with Battle Axe and Flint and Steel, do it! Hell, bring Town Watch Torch and Grim Iron Mask and become a surprisingly stealthy killer! He is not exclusively a 3 gen killer… no killer is! But unfortunately the stigma of his playerbase and his shaky launch has caused an otherwise great chapter to have this negative aura to it. And as a Knight (not even a main) player it’s kind of my goal to break the stereotype and negativity around the Knight. Because honestly, he deserves better, SO much better. So I’ll keep playing him, and I’ll keep vowing for a future where maybe he isn’t as hated…
omfg. The T-bagging malfunctioning thing. OK HEAR ME OUT. My long nail girlies KNOW! Sometimes, while you accidently panic to make a split second decision play, my nails just slip off the keys and I will panic to get them back on and hit the crouch key multiple times! I always have to apologize after! TTwTT
16:45 I think genrushing exist when you play with a swf with 4 BNP and more gen speed perks. You can speed the game so much that it becomes ridicolous.
Except they'll have nothing in chase, can be easily and safely tunnelled off, and have no good way to hinder the killer (toolboxes so no flashies, probably emptied on gens so no sabotages and definitely no sabotage addons)
@@EE-one-D One gen-perk per teammate is enough to make the game very fast, and they are also overkill. 4 commodious or 4 bnp is enough imo to make the game very easy for survivors (in public matches)
@@EE-one-D If you're good most of the maps are in survivors favour with the amount of pallets or windows. I'm using no exaustion perks on my survivors and can easily loop killers, because maps have so many pallets and connecting loops next to each other like garden of joy.
the issue with the dc penalty being removed is yes it helps in those situations where someone is going against a bullshit boring killer / build / playstyle, but it's going to help more in those situations where someone loads into a match, hears the pinhead sound, dc. loads into a match, sees a pig box, dc. it'll just let people dc over and over again against killers they don't like. the only way of fixing this overall would make it so that the first like 3 dc's are penalty-free but any subsequent start having the 5-10-15+ minute timers. that way if you only dc once in awhile, you're not penalized but if you're a serial dcer (or just have bad internet) you still get penalized as you should
@@Fenneccinos I'd say it should depend on circumstances, like how long you were in game. Would be great if game could detect if you ragequitted or you were camped or tunneled. Probably hard to do but yeah, that would be fair.

I expected some hot takes but good lord man
I said Hillbillies in pubs are usually boring, which is the case for me.
I don't agree with Scott's take that 'Doctor guarantees hits at every loop.'
I feel like Scott had a bad experience with the one good Doctor main in the entire game and just vents that frustration every time he talks about Doctor's balance.

You’re bullshitting. It couldn’t have been the most agitating shit ever otherwise the killer would have swiftly taken you to the hook instead. Didn’t happen.
As a killer main I 1000% agree that the gen regression, 3-gen meta was the easiest time I've had playing killer
Fax boring af too kicking gens all match too
Old eruption against solos was brutal and I loved it😂
I have seen quite a bit of people complain about being tunneled just because they were being hooked a second time.
Some achievements should honestly be reworked (maybe a hottake on my part here)
Well with the Survivor bots thing dcing wouldn't really screw you out of achievements anymore
the 3 blink grab, last gen gate escape and evil incarnete should totaly be reworked

Except competetive survivors nothing is difficult for nurse. She is for sure hard to master, but learning to play her is somewhere around medium.
Absolutely. Not trying to say that she's anything but head and shoulders above the rest of the killers, but anyone who's even fairly new to the game (or even just Nurse in general) is going to have a very rough go in the beginning.
Survivors who know how to bait your blinks out are the most annoying and infuriating shit known to main
Hot take: Any perk/item/add-on that can change the speed of gens positively or negatively should be removed.
Based
Nah bc it adds more too the game on both sides.

No more Hoarder on Pinhead
I very rarely go to higher than bloodlust one, but as a newer killer it's completely needed especially now with Made for This making the game easier if you just drop chases in even mildly survivor-sided setups as said.
The left fence coming out of Garden of Joy main against a survivor with MfT and if you do decide to chase is always a bloodlust proc with no way to secure the hit without it.
Hot Take: The devs should take a year off of making new content and put all their resources into game health, balancing, and QoL changes. Maybe even move to a new engine.
would be awesome, but 0 chance
Unfortunately they cant afford something like that. From a business standpoint
Unfortunately, due to how licensing works, they probably can't do that, atleast not right now
Licensing agreements are done usually months if not an entire year in advance, because of how long development takes, they probably have like 3 or 4 pending licenses rn and they would have to put those on hold if they were to take a break right now, which is probably the worst decision they could take from a business standpoint

Now I just need a video like this but towards all of Tru3's tweets. Especially his more recent ones
"And if you clicking me, you just deserve to be tunneled X)"
The only people who think this way are literally among *the worst players in the entire game*
A player clicking their flashlight is not making distance and not doing gens. Literally the exact thing you want them to be doing. If a click noise every 1.5s is so triggering to you, you need therapy; Badly.
You are just a thin-skinned, emotionally stunted clown that needs to go outside and touch some grass.
Worst take I've seen yet.

Maybe I'm just soulless playing League idk.
pls do more of these its really fun to listen to!
Fun fact (regarding the Pinhead “hot take”): they recently changed hoarders and franklins to not work with killer items. I.e med spray, the box, vaccines, and any other killer exclusive items
20:55 the thing with them running into me happens fairly often, but they don't actually complain about me tunneling them after the game all that much
I see that happen a LOT myself, where they just run into me after getting unhooked. Not even to bodyblock, theyre just... lost or something.
People use the word boring to describe anything they dislike in this game, and they've done it for years because they just don't want to come out and say what they really think, whether because it's true or because they're just terrible at a game that isn't competitive or as difficult as they think (but it is for them)
Legion is a vibe check for your team. He's fun against decent players, but if you're in the solo que grind you will end up despising him
The easiest killer has ever been is when pop and ruin were op and mori's where 1 hook instead of 2. but that's just how it's been for me
I think the best they can do to make 3gens more tolerable is to fix gen spawn logic a bit.
"hot take would be SM is actually fun"
" I enjoy the playstyle of controlling certain areas"
You missed the entire point.
Makes me warm and cozy
My hot take is that killers don't kill you, teammates do.

Sounds like a skill issue tbh.
@@watchmehope6560 I literally said he's not broken he's just boring
@@watchmehope6560🤡
Genrushing, in context of what Scott is saying, does/did exist in some form. If you look at the old depip squad videos Marth and his swf did showed just that. One guy would run the killer for as long as possible while everyone else did gens and when that guy gets hooked the team would just leave him there to die (unless the person was hooked nearby and he could be saved quickly), finish gens, and get out. But the game was a lot different back then. I'm not sure depip squad would be something you can consistently do anymore.
Hot take? They should add some fragile pallets to maps that aren’t tied to the event that don’t replace regular pallets, i really enjoy the risk reward of it as survivor, and as killer it’s fun when i have enduring and get free spirit fury, or when i bait them into throwing it down
The problem with Legion is bloodlust 3 exists and you eventually run out of pallets. They slug and camp and it’s boring as hell.
This is a player problem, the killer itself is fine
3 gens are fun :)
when im playing from both sides but mainly survivor i enjoy the 3 gens

Hot Take: The largest issue with DBD is gen speed. And I don't mean it in a "oh these darn gen rushers" I mean gen speed as a whole has way too much variability and it needs to be done away with. Everything and anything that has a direct effect on gen speed needs to be removed. The only things that can affect gens anymore should be gen blocking perks, and kicking gens.
"Gen Rushing" is a survivors build issue, not a playstyle issue. It's when the survivor bring 4 Commodious Toolbox with BNPs and gen repair perks.
Honestly the only part I don't like about fighting legion is that half of the time my team rage quits immediately like a bunch of P######
My hot takes:
- Hillbilly is boring to face (as a former billy main).
I'd love for all the "bottom half" killers as mentioned in this video got a Wraith style makeover
I was playing Pyramid Head one time and all the survivors dced at like 4 gens, I wasn't even running a stupid build! Laughed so hard that day.
I love how Scott ALWAYS sees perspective from both sides fairly every time, even being a killer main. Wholesome guy.
Rant done.

after hearing your opinion on skull merchant complaints im going to main her now
i saw someones DBD hot takes video that said
"DH IS THE BEST EXTHAUSTION PERK HERE IS WHY"

Legion.
Dumb take, legion is a brain dead killer who runs and injures you no skill required for legion 😂

If i weren't into all these movies etc. and horror games in general, i'm not sure if i'd like DbD as much. It has a lot of flaws and balancing issues, but it knows how to sell itself which is why other games like that fail in comparison even if they are more polished.

Facts
Yo Scott, I had an idea for a New Game Mode for DBD. It's a simple idea that is already used, but not yet legitimized by BHVR.
Dead By Daylight - Blood, Sweat, and Tears
it is a DBD 1v1 experience set in 3 categories
1) Blood- No Perks, Add-ons, Or Power... (Trapper Only, NO Power)
*Special Tournament-style map made specific for this mode ONLY
*Leaderboard options for this Mode
2) Sweat- No Perks or Add-ons... Just Killer Power (All available Killers)
*Players vote on map... one map of the two gets chosen
3) Tears- All Perks, All Add-ons, AND Killer Powers (All available Killers)
*Players choose 3 maps to VETO
1 Killer, 1 Survivor
All Maps Available (Exception: Blood)
Killer and Survivor Start at Shack (or predetermined In Line of Sight Facing each other.
Simple Chase and Down...
Both Parties get points depending.
Once a down happens, Entity Grabs survivor (Like EGC), then map resources are reset.
Mode lasts for 20 min or 3 downs (Whichever comes first)
Please, let me know what you think...
DBD would be so much better if BHVR would give up on trying to make it competitive. The game's at its best when folks aren't treating it so seriously.
You ok, man?
Who, in your opinion is the best killer for 3gen then?
@@lordsavior1559 So let's start with killers that are good at 3-gen overall:
Nurse, Blight, Spirit (kinda obvious)
Demogorgon, Knight, Legion, Wraith, Artist, Singularity
Best 3-gen you can do is Wesker with iri addon (survivors start infected).

That could be the worst take of all time

I'm using no exaustion perks on my survivors and can easily loop killers, because maps have so many pallets and connecting loops next to each other like garden of joy.
the issue with the dc penalty being removed is yes it helps in those situations where someone is going against a bullshit boring killer / build / playstyle, but it's going to help more in those situations where someone loads into a match, hears the pinhead sound, dc. loads into a match, sees a pig box, dc. it'll just let people dc over and over again against killers they don't like. the only way of fixing this overall would make it so that the first like 3 dc's are penalty-free but any subsequent start having the 5-10-15+ minute timers. that way if you only dc once in awhile, you're not penalized but if you're a serial dcer (or just have bad internet) you still get penalized as you should
Soooo true I wish that with the dc bots being added that they would remove the dc penalty
I think a small negative would be okay but deff the timeout gotta go
@@Fenneccinos I'd say it should depend on circumstances, like how long you were in game. Would be great if game could detect if you ragequitted or you were camped or tunneled. Probably hard to do but yeah, that would be fair.

Love this new type of video format! Hope u make more videos like this and the Reddit one
Nurse is the most fun killer to play against and is balanced.
Most people are just not good or intelligent enough to recognize and adapt to that specific nurses playstyle.
🗣
I always play the role that gives more BP now
The strongest killers had it was a year or two back when killers couple hit you during the pallet drop animation and weren’t stunned
Lmao I was EATING during that time period. My internet was already kinda bad how it already was so that made literally like every hit go through the pallets no matter what
