I've been using these for over 3 and a half years. I have 6 single port ones, 3 of them I have switches on. I've never had a problem with them, and I get the full "from the router" speeds. I couldn't be happier with them.
Ken Skid haha...I had to have an Ethernet connection in my office for my work at home position. Thought I was going to have to pay Comcast to drill holes and run wires until I found these things!
broncos 07 sorry for the slow response. These are supposed to work anywhere in the house. Especially if you're trying to get a strong connection on a different floor in your house
The whole point of this setup is so that you can have a wired connection the your network in a room where you don't have wiring. For example, my job required a direct network connection for security purposes -- no wireless connection was allowed. So, I plugged one of these into the wall, ran a cable straight to the modem. Then, I plugged another one of them in the room where I needed a wired connection, and ran the ethernet cable to my computer. It's not that beneficial unless you need a wired connection somewhere. Some people would use the wired connection to ensure a faster streaming rate with their Apple TV or something.
@@youlikemike do you have any experience with the tp-link outdoor wifi amplifier? I bought one and have serious password issues with it, I can get in as far as the log-in screen then no success further than that, it does not accept the admin admin that the instructions give you as access username and password
You should have done a before and after (I didn't give a thumbs up or down because of this). While the speed test shows it's getting full bandwidth, how much more are you getting ?
This was only supposed to be a brief video about how to set it up and whether or not it works. Also, this was a few years ago but I just watched the video and I mentioned that we were paying for 25Mb/s, and over Wifi we were getting probably 10Mb/s....and with this thing we got almost 30Mb/s. But I also bought this solely because my work required a hardwired connection to my computer. I wasn't allowed to use Wifi due to security concerns and this was the only way to get a hardwired connection without running new wires through our walls. The increased speed and more stable connection was just an added benefit.
ajedrez210 no, this specific device won't do anything to your wifi. This simply adds a wired connection wherever you plug it in. You would need to buy a "wifi extender" for what you are wanting to do.
Michael Coates how's everything going sir I like your setup I have Comcast internet service so will it help if get a modem to hook up too and extended my WiFi connection
ricky stewart Ricky, this particular device only takes an internet signal and then gives you the ability to run internet via a wire in another room. It doesn't have built in wifi. If you want to strengthen your wifi signal, you are looking for a "wifi extender" or "wifi booster"
Metz I believe they stop flashing once they’re working. I’m not at home at the moment so I can’t check. I know orange lights mean they aren’t working...and yellow/green means they’re connected.
Yanir nope, this thing only sends a signal using the power outlet. You could use one of the 2 Ethernet outputs on the 2nd device to set up a wireless router if you wanted.
King Rdz depends - is your internet just bad in general? Like...right out of the wall...is your internet slow? Or is it just slow because your XBOX is far from your wireless router? This thing will get a wired connection from your modem to your XBOX...so the internet will be as fast as it can be.
mers-pho hello! Not sure I fully understand your question. This is used to give you a wired connection somewhere else in the house -- using your power outlets. You plug your modem (where internet comes into your house) into one of these and then plug that into the wall nearest your modem. Then, you can take another one of these into another room in the house and run 2 cables straight into a computer or whatever you'd like to run internet directly into. Hope that helps!
I want to get wifi on the 2nd floor, I believe this one doesn't give wifi signal right? Can I connect the 2nd adapter to a router on the 2nd floor and get wifi from that router?
There are wireless versions, from this and other brands. They will offer the ability to connect your wireless device to one adapter, while the wired only one still goes into your router. This specific version is only offering an interface for the cabled connection. Additional adapters using the same standards should work to expand your current network if you have purchased already, but the connection speed may decrease with more devices sharing it.
Love the straight to the point and honesty of this video!

Thomas Beisheim um I'm having a problem it says unidentified connection
Plz help
LMFAO - I was about to run wire all over my house for TVs and other stuff. I'll try this first!
Thanks.

Got a couple. Works perfectly !
Ken Skid awesome! My speeds through the power line network are always faster than my wifi!
In today's Covid world of remote working/schooling, this is the fail safe answer. Thanks for the nice vid.
why do indians always write statements
How do you know which one is your router and which is modem?
Thanks for the video. Is a password required the same way it would be over wifi? I want to set one these up in an Airbnb unit.
Nice IP Address.
aravenamongdovesnj thanks!
Do they automatically sync up? As in do you need to push button for one second?
2:30 lol
bruh💀
thanks for the review! would this work if i put one upstairs and one downstairs?
broncos 07 sorry for the slow response. These are supposed to work anywhere in the house. Especially if you're trying to get a strong connection on a different floor in your house
Will using both a wifi extender a power line adapter cause problems?
hi love the vid just wondering if this will take the signal away from the router and does it have to be connected over ethernet
gj on the video
Im still using this tp-link a year later and i still get my full mb/s from my isp. Easiest solution better than dealing with wifi.
Nice Video and what is your internet speed direkt next to your router? Sorry for bad English
Xeten it's okay. I understand you. Internet speed straight from router is 25mB/s so it's just as fast or faster using this.
Bist du deutsch
Can I do this without a pc ???
So you have to put it into the wall or is it only recomended=
maxmoo33RBLX only recommended...but I haven't tried it in a power strip.
maxmoo33 it is definitely better in the wall I can confirm
Wait, you need an ethernet cable from the wall to the computer? How is this wireless?

@@youlikemike thank you for taking the trouble to answer. I assumed from the advertising that this was a wireless connection system.

yes
