Have you tried leaving the slide in the sun to get warm and the mount in the freezer to get cold and leveraging CTE to aid installation?... a tenth of a thou is prolly helpful!
Idk about the mount in the freezer, might become brittle and crack? Heating the slide might give you a fraction of a thou. Probably better to hit the dovetail with a file.
@@TheRaveBarn So very wrong on everything. If the mount metal is so fragile that a home freezer could cause it to be brittle, it's a piece of crap. Also, using a file is a very good way to F up your mount. At most, an arkansas stone is the right tool for close tolerance fitting. So I just purchased the ADE green dot reticle rd3 006 complete with Springfield XD friendly mounting plate (Venom/Vortex/Doctor footprint) and haven’t picked it up from my mail center and I immediately said, I do not think I have to remove my rear sight on my Springfield Armory XD 4 Service model HC lol.. Which would save me a ton of time as SA is known to have stubborn removable rears..
Thanks for contacting us, if your slide is already optics ready (cut for an optic) you may not have to use our mounting plate. If you only have a rear sight, you will have to use a mounting plate.
@@EGWInc Gotcha. I guess the question is upon looking at the mounting plate, do I need to remove the rear sight because my firearm doesn’t have a modular optic system or optics ready milled slide. The Ade instructions had a pistol without a rear site shown but does not instruct you to remove it as though it is foregone conclusion. I am an iron sight guy so this is foreign to me.. Thanks for your time.
I have a bersa tpr9 XT. It has a slide cutout from just behind the ejection port to the rear end of the slide, but Bersa said that it is designed to accomodate a Sig #8 dovetail adapter plate. The current adjustable iron rear sight mounts in the dovetail slot and has two mounting screws through the dovetail. So does EGW have an adapter plate that will fit this weapon?
We have mounts that will fit the sig #8 rear dovetail. After looking at the tpr9, we are unsure if it will work due to the dimensions above the dovetail. We believe our adapter plates will be too long.
It'll be really helpful if you guys showed and talked about the sight pushers tools for these. Because many sight pushers are too narrow for the width of the mounting plates, so the user might not be able to get the plate installed at all. Trying to do it without a pusher is asking for a damaged gun.
Hi Rebecca, thank you for the feedback. That is a great idea! We have a rear sight installation video in the works already, we will make sure to include that as well. Some of the inexpensive pushers available on Amazon work pretty nicely because they are so large. We have found that with a proper set of padded vise jaws and a good brass punch set, most rear sights can be removed, and our plates can be installed using the same method in reverse, but we do always recommend having a qualified and competent gunsmith install them. We will be working on that installation video in the upcoming weeks.
@@EGWInc thanks for the reply! The $60 VISM I pusher that I have worked perfectly to drift out the rear site on my CZ 85B. But it will not be able to help me push the plate in unfortunately. I think the cheaper pushers that have a lot more space on top will do it however there aren't pads on them though so people have to retrofit them with an adhesive foam or something like that to protect the surfaces. there's definitely a high potential for causing damage and/or scratches on all the surfaces.
@@rcronin1 good to know the VISM worked for you for removal. We have found the exact thing is an issue with the cheaper pushers. We normally put a piece of felt or rubber on the pads to keep it from scratching. All stuff we will make sure to cover in our video! We appreciate the feedback!
Do you guys have yet a mounting plate adapter for the Taurus G3. Thought that if the Taurus is comparable with the glock rear sights then why the plates wont fit a Taurus G3?

Do you guys offer a mount for Ruger p94? I can't seem to find one. & unfortunately the design of the pistol's slide isn't milling friendly; are the dovetail mounts reliable at holding a good zero and what are some of the cons vs a milled slide? I would much appreciate a reply, although I'm not necessarily expecting one! Thanks
Hi Nathan, we have a few mounts for the Ruger Autos. Which red dot are you looking to mount? Our listing shows it fits models 90-95 as well. We have had great success with our red dot plates and they do reliably hold zero. If you mill a slide you are stuck with that "footprint" or red dot unless you swap out your slide, which is easier said than done. www.egwguns.com/pistol-and-red-dot-mounts/mounts-by-firearm-brand-sight-cut/?cat=588
Thanks for reaching out. We don't offer that option on our mounts, but there are some other manufacturers who do incorporate rear sights in their mounts.

Hi, thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately, we do not make anything for the optics ready versions of the Caniks and we do not have any plans to make them at this time.
I'm confused as to what you said about inserting the sight adapter. You first said that the leade is on the right side of the slide, as observed from the rear. You also said that the leade is there to facilitate insertion into the dovetail. Then you say to insert the sight adapter from left to right. That seems to negate the purpose of the leade. I always thought that you insert into a dovetail from right to left and remove from left to right.
Hi Gerald, thanks for contacting us. Our mounts have a lead on the right side so that when they are inserted in to the left side of the slide they start easier.
@@EGWInc My bad, I thought the leade was in the dovetail on the slide. Maybe it's that way on old rifle barrels. I seem to remember it being that way. I'll probably be calling you to discuss the cross drilling of the adapter for the P210 and the characteristics of a 'COILED SPRING PIN".
Will a 407k/507k/EPS fit using your Universal Piggyback System 30mm rings + the universal Optima mount? I plan on throwing an EPS on it as a 12 o'clock piggyback on my scope.
@@EGWInc It might be good idea to sell a modified plate specifically for 407K/507K/EPS. Specifically the EPS in the description since its just a smaller, lighter version of the 509T which is perfect for a piggy back.
Does the rear sight on yours say Novak near the set screw? My Taurus th9 and 1911 does. If it's a Novak sight you should be able to just get a Novak dovetail style mount. I don't have sight pushers and don't know how hard it would be without that tool. Good luck
I wish that Vortex just dropped the C-More and Docter patterns and adopted the Trijicon footprint like Holosun did (Leupold is in a different position where it would have to abandon its on patented mounting system). I love the Vortex Venom but I milled my Glock for it and now I can’t change it for a Holosun or a RMR one day if I want to. From now on I will I only buy a Vortex if I get a pistol that comes from factory with an adapter plates system an I will only mill a pistol slide for the Trijicon footprint (RMRs are too expensive, but now we have options from Holosun for half the price or even less).

Hi Scott, we don't make anything for the Sig P365. There may be some other companies out there that are producing a mount for the 365. There are quite a few entry level red dots that work well. Right now, it depends on what is available. We normally stock the Vortex Venoms, but are not able to source them at the moment. The Swampfox Kingslayer is a popular option as well as the Burris FastFire and the Holosun 507c. I hope this helps!
Optics ready pistols may be cut for specific red dot mounting patterns, or they may make plates that fit the cut out to mount multiple different red dots. Unfortunately, there isn't one specific pattern for red dots. Vortex Venoms use different mounting location pins and screws than Vortex Razors, Trijicon RMRs are different than both of those too.

Do you have a mount that will fit the Beretta px4?

Got mine ! It worked for the glock 19 and a holosun 507c ! Fast install - looks good / noticed a small gap between the front of the RMR and the top of glock slide ? Is that normal ? I tightened down all the screws - so ??? I’m guessing it’s designed that way - let me know what you think or people comment please - I can see just a little daylight between the front 65-70 percent of the actual rmr sight - and then it’s touching and tight in back
There should be a small gap at the front of the plate between the bottom of the mounting plate and the slide of the Glock.
