- Welcome to my tutorial on how I use my Cricut JOY to cut and draw the outside and inside of cards. I show how to cut a card and how to draw and write inside the card and give you lots of tips for customizing your cards. It's super easy to customize cards quickly and easily using the Cricut Joy and Cricut Design Space. There are loads of pre-designed cards to get you started. I hope this inspires you to give card making a go today.

Hey. You can change the measurements on the design space. I’m used to centimetres so I went in to the canvas settings and chose metric units. That might be easier for you? 🇦🇺 I wouldn’t know what an inch is 😂
Hiya, thanks for that. I'm weird in that I craft with inches even though I live in a metric country. I also find some of my craft tools are in inches so it's easier for me to stick to it. But Google is my best friend for conversions of measurements and currency 💕

Using the Cricut Joy to make insert cards; some designs have a lot of cut details, that don't always lay well, should I glue to back before I use the insert card?? thank you for your tutorial.

Hi, your video is very helpful for me first cricut joy. Question, I have problem which drawing which cutting when I want only cutting. The trial I have done is drawing and cut. Where can I choose only cut or only drawing when starting it? Please and thank you.
Can you mirror image the design selected? e.g. if I wanted the balloons on the right side of the insert but with the little ballon still toward the center. Thank you

I am having difficulty getting the card to leave behind the cut parts on the mat.
I end up having to weeding the whole darn thing,Begich always causes some sort of tear to the cardstock.

This is a great tutorial! I want to know if you can pick a design and change it or do you always have to use it as it is.
Basic shapes do not show up under my shapes tab- I get tons of odd shapes. Can’t find the basics. Am stuck there.
The only downside is , you have a card but no envelopes.
I am really getting getting so frustrated. What you're showing and what Cricut's app has are different. The app is upgraded and the software just doesn't add up. I just bought mine a week ago (almost) and I'm ready to return this dang thing! Instead of drawing what I chose for Father's Day, it cut the design instead. 😡😡
Hi, I’m so sorry to hear your frustration. There is a Cricut Joy app and a Cricut Design Space app. Both can now be used with the Joy machine but when I filmed this there was only Design Space. Are you using the Cricut Joy app? If so it will look totally different from my tutorial. I haven’t even downloaded the Cricut Joy app yet but I will soon to give it a try. If the Cricut Joy app is frustrating you and you can’t find any helpful tutorials then try downloading the Cricut Design Space app. Within both apps you can edit to change lines/text/images to cut or draw. It’s worth the effort in the long run as the Joy makes things so quickly.
