I bought the 8s basically for ats only. I put a heavy semi truck knob on it with the H/L splitter. and it works great. I think it was a awesome value. I always thought the 8A was way over priced. Just couldn't justify it.
That's awesome! I use to have one of those splitter shifters when I played ATS/ETS more regularly. I need to hop back in when I have some time. Those were so relaxing to just drive and chill!

I'd be sold if i didn't play on desk and had somewhere to mount this little boi... Looks like solid piece of budget hardware.
The clamp can be used on a desk just like the TH8A.
@@Hzuuuu Yea but having shifter on the wheel height next to the wheel is quite meh... Had G29 with Logi shifter that way before.
@@damgam98search for thrustmaster table/desk clamp on amazon. They've got exactly what you need. its a pretty cheap clamp that mounts to the desk and then has an arm that is lower to mount the shifter and a handbrake to. It puts the shifter in the right spot.

Wow! Really helpful video! I'm looking to get the T-3PM pedals and the TH8S shifter bundle, because the pedals that come with the TMX Force Feedback kinda suck. This video just convinced me to get that bundle!

I got my self a t500rs and i had played before on the logitech shifter at my friends house but i liked the th8s the design and the extra speed had sold me instantly there werent any reviews when i got it since it was new but i was willing to take the risk and i gotta say im not regretting the choice
I bet you could find a cheap sequential shifter that when combined with this shifter would come in cheaper than the th8a. Thank you for another video Dan. Peace✌️
You can use 8S as a sequential on pc with few simple mods. Will run you about $5 dollars at lowes or something
Have this shifter for months, nice piece for price. You can swap it to sequential easily in few seconds by DIY rubber-rings mod, it's cheap, it's working lovely, and the biggest plus you can swap it back in moment, no need to change or set anything. Iam using different shift knob as well, just cheapest aluminium stick from raceshop mounted onto piece of rubber hose secured with mounting piece which comes with. Also you can get "expensive" mods from 3DRap, both for sequential, or magnetic mod for H shifting too, as well mounting adapters for different shift knobs. The only minus to me is loud clicking.
I know its late but in the TH8S you can mount it with bolts i think, you have to un screw a lil' base where in the upper section of the part where you atach it an voila, there you have the space with bolts. I've seen it in a video but your video has convinced me to absolutly buy it. THANKS
I do find the button click sequential a bit funny as the old budget wheels used to come with those and they were considered a joke. Sim racing has changed quite a bit.
You can hard mount it if you semove the screws for the clamp
Is there a way (e.g. some mod) to increase the spring force of the TH8S when moving to the outer right gears?

I need help because when I went to tighten the tension for the shifter the screw was not moving at all and is hard please help me
it is a very tight screw so dont be afraid to give it a good turn. Try turning it left to loosen it a bit and then start going the other direction. It could be bound up.
I saw a different review, saying it could be hard mounted if the clamp is removed
The TH8A can yes. Not this one unfortunately.

No intentionally. You could anyway unscrew the clamp, swap screws which are holding shifter together for longer ones and screw onto plate. But it's holding into plastic, I wouldn't thrust that much.
Which video game is that you played using this shifter? I’ve had this shifter for almost a year after the release cannot find any games that work well with it
Game in video is Automobilista 2 on PC. I've also used it on many others (Assetto Corsa, Forza, FH5, iRacing, and others). I haven't ran into any compatibility issues. Are you running it through a TM wheelbase or connect directly with the USB cable?
Stupid question but can you have this shifter connected to the thrustmaster ferrari 458 spider racing wheel even though it doesn’t have a clutch paddle.
yes you can. Just keep the in game settings to manual (no clutch) and you can still shift through the gears as usual. The game will work the clutch for you.

@@Emanuel-2007 yes it does! It will work just like using paddles with manual & no clutch except youll row through individual gears on the shifter instead of the paddles. As you move the shifter from first to second, it will automatically engage the clutch between the gears as long as its not set to manual with clutch in the game settings. Actually the latest forza has an awful shift engagement delay when using the clutch and default transmission in any car so most people (even with a clutch pedal) run manual no clutch until they upgrade the car to a race transmission. It's to stop people from power shifting buts it's terribly unrealistic. So you're good to go even without a clutch.

Yes it can work without a clutch. Just set to "auto clutch" in whichever game you're playing.
Can this shifter work on the pxn v10
it can be used with any setup as long as you plug it into your pc with the supplied usb cable. It will be its own separate input device.

yes it is. It will plug into any Thrustmaster wheelbase. You also have the option to use it as a stand alone input device on pc by using the included usb cable

Yes as long as it's a thrustmaster wheelbase (TX, T300, T248, T128, TS-PC, etc.) it will work perfectly.

no, if you want to use it on console u need their wheel too only on pc u can mix and match their products with other wheels
You can use logitech pedals with a thrustmaster base on console

It will not connect directly into the g29 base but you can connect it directly to your PC with the included usb cable. That way they both will work at the same time.
Why it doesn’t have an 8th gear?
Technically it could have 8 if you wanted to map it that way. Depends on how you assign the buttons in gear. There are 8 total positions so you could map 8th gear instead of reverse and map reverse to a different button on your wheel or keyboard.
Does it work with the t300rs?
It works with any Thrustmaster wheel

Nope. SHH shifters while roughly double the price are multitudes better than this thing.

SHH looks more versatile but for the TH8S I stopped at an electronics store and got one for 55€.
You can get these on sale for like 40$ bro there’s no better deal lol.
