Sorry about the wind noise during the outside shots, I am going to invest in a wind muff for my next video.
I also made a mistake in stating that the rear has climate control, this is not the case the rear passengers have window controls and have their own buttons to raise and lower the head rests.

The C215 body is one of Mercedeses´most beautiful, and in my opinion it is one of the most beautiful cars throughout automotive history. Just look at those lines from the door and backwards. There has never been anything like it.

Great review mate!! I have and had the honour to have your exact car but a 2001 and currently 2 2007 CL500 W216’s and no way would I ever get rid of these other can treat and care for them like queen and they’ll remain beautiful for a long time! Also keep the standard exhaust do not De-Cat it. It sounds and feels beautiful overall! Great purchase you’ll only appreciate it as time goes by.

Thanks man. Yeah i completely understand. They are pretty expensive to maintain and as physics teacher i should definitely not own this as my second car but i just love it so much and every time i drive it i forgive it for absolutely rinsing me out haha.

Hi, thanks so much for the kind words. To lift the car there’s a button right next to the abc sport button on the dashboard. You can press that twice to lift it two times.

Interesting to see a young man in an old man’s car. These cars are so rare it’s hard to know what the market is for them in the near future.
Haha it is an old man’s car but i love it! It’s hard to tell really. You really don’t see many of them. But they have such a reputation for being a pain in the arse to maintain. Plus with fuel prices being so high a 5l v8 seems less desirable. I think they will go up but will never be as expensive as the sl’s

Nice and positive review. The brownish colour on top and sides of the windows is due to air getting between the two glass surfaces. You can stop this process by putting superglue in the groove. For a 20-year-old CL, yours has been well maintained, which is a rare these days. I think that well serviced models will increase in value in the coming years. Just look at what nice C126s are being sold for.
Thanks for the comment! I really hope so, i think the c215s are so unique and i find them more beautiful as time goes on. But despite being the flagship along with the sl’s, cl’s just do not seem to go up as much as the sl’s do.

I would love to have one but (at least in the USA) the ABC suspension is very problematic and very expensive to repair. Yours is beautiful!
Thank you my friend i do feel i found a great one. Honestly mate if it really bothers you, you can find one that has had the abc suspension replaced with coil suspension. In my opinion though if you can find one with full service history and it’s been looked after you’ll be fine. Just keep looking after it

C215 was released iin 1999 - I had a 2000 registered one for 6 years. Lovely when working but TBH my 2006 5.5 CLK that came (after an interlude with an E46 330Ci - cr*p!) was a far better car all round & much much more reliable. Still I do still think about getting a CL55 K to go with my XKR.
I absolutely love my cl but it has started to get a few issues now. Soft close has stopped working on the passenger door, theres a rattle from the ac compressor unless the ac is on even though its a brand new one. But for a 20 year old motor thats not that bad. Clk 55 wow i would like to have a go in one of those! Probably not as luxurious as a cl though right? More of a sports car. As always thanks for the comment my friend i hope you enjoyed the video

Hey mate, i replied to this but for some reason it hasn’t gone through. It honestly depends on of it has been looked after and serviced. Mine has full maim dealer service up to like 85k miles. Mine does have a few minor issues now but nothing serious yet. I will say this, buying a 20 year old car that was the pinnacle of its time is always going to have some issues. If you know a good mechanic who will look after you you’ll be alright. Get one

@@sparksnvolts6855 definitely the standard ones from the 500, mainly because these are super rare now and yours is in immaculate condition. I have a S Class of this generation, love them because they have none of these ridiculous nanny crap driving aids 😂
Can you please tell us which button is used for the driver side and passenger side headrest that go up and down,
Hi, they are controlled from the controls on the doors that are shaped like seats. The very top of them is the button that controls the headrest

You know what you're talking about. I've owned 3 W215s, 2 CL500s and 1 CL600. Imagine all you're describing with a V12 biturbo cranking out 481 HP and 600 ft lbs of torque with a 7 speed auto! You should mention shocks are $1600... EACH! any of the numerous fail-prone ABC parts/labor will devour a large fortune. Still, the best bang for your buck under $10K until it isn't.

Literally your spot on best bang for your buck until it isn’t haha. Mine is still going strong just some few annoying issues. I’ll do a video on them soon :)

Hi i think the simplest way to put it is the clk is a two door c class and the cl is a two door s class. So the cl is better quality, more luxurious
i got 36 mpg on a 100 mile b road run in my cl500
Really!!! Thats pretty good what year is yours? I thought id take mine to work today and got 8.5 mpg

i think on a motorway at 70mph it could have hit 40mpg i have a clk430 that was always worse on fuel than the big cl

@@sparksnvolts6855 i went from falkirk to oban i think about 100 miles i was so surprised by the mpg i got around town/going to work a bit mixed it would be 22-23mpg

Hmm i wouldnt let the abc scare you too much. I saw that mine had work done to the suspension from main dealer when i bought it and as long as i change the oil every two years I’m sure it will be fine. But if you would rather mot risk just change the suspension. I’ve seen people doing it for 2k. Probably softer too as the abc is pretty sporty

Its more about the people that u have to take it to . Only a small portion of people know how to fix this car . The dealer or some special fucken crackhead focus power having as guy who secretly knows but charges alot bcuz he doesn't want to tell u any secret God forgive he accidentally tells u a secret or something lol everything is a secret this car is a secret lol . I guess. Or idk if the devil hates that much lol but yeah if I don't have to pay a lot after I take it in I'll come back and edit this.cuz it sure took me out of wak lol
Yeah man you need to find a mechanic you know well and trust if you own a car like this. My guy is very reasonable but you’re right I’ve got quotes from other people and it’s over double the price!
