For those with big hands, an easier way to change the driver side bulb on a CRV is to unclip the 3 fuse box retaining clips, the lower clips, not the ones that open the fuse box, and you can push the box back 2-3 inches. This gives you the additional finger room and it only takes 15 seconds to unclip...don't struggle in tight quarters.
This was a huge help in changing out my headlight bulbs. After watching this, I changed them out in less than 10 minutes! Thank You for posting this and saving me time and eliminating any frustration!
This was the clearest & simplest step-by-step video to replace the Honda 2007 CRV front headlights. Advice: Should be the first popup when searching. My husband, purchased replacement light bulbs and replaced in under 20min. Thank you so much!!!

I almost feel like we should have kept the CRV to continue making repair videos, however, I got tired of working on it. We traded for a Pilot and I haven't had to work on it yet. Thanks for watching and I am so glad it was helpful.
Thanks. My Honda dealer (I know the dealers are robbers) wanted to charge me about $150 for new bulbs and labor. Instead, spent $45 on a nice set and did the installation in a few minutes myself.
Thank you for this video! The passenger side bulb was easy as hell to get back into place, but I gotta tell ya, the driver’s side clip did NOT want to slide back into place. It took a 30+ minutes and some extra long needle nose pliers to get it in.
Very helpful video, thank you so much. Had to laugh at the beginning when you said the driver's side was tougher...that was the one burned out on mine as well. Did them both. Much appreciated!

It's been all good except for one bearing that I had to replace at about 80k miles and fix the AC compressor clutch at around the same time. I think I am really lucky with this car. I had a 2nd gen CRV before this one and the headlight bulbs were burning out every year starting from year 3 as well as I had engine cooling system leak at around 50k miles and transmission fail at 75k miles. Thanks for this tutorial, that bulb is the reason I watched it and I see that it is easier to replace a bulb on 3rd generation than 2nd.
I'm surprised you didn't mention anywhere on this video that you don't want to touch the actual bulb itself. I see a lot of other people wearing thin latex gloves to handle these, but I noticed you were just careful not to touch it
You sure made that look easy. I have struggled with getting the driver's side bulb in each time and it has blown 4 or 5 times since late Oct 2014. I bought the same Sylvania bulbs and have never had to replace a headlight on my vehicles that I have had for years. This has gotten really annoying.
I did the passenger side first to learn how and then did the drivers. It probably look easier with a little editing. Sound like yours is a light killer. I feel like mine was a lemon. At about 30K miles, we had to change the tires, then the brakes, then the head lights, and it would run hot while idling... We traded it in quick. Good luck with yours.
chud327 I did have to replace the passenger side once, but that side was way easier. Doing the drivers' side would've been more helpful, especially since the space is so limited. I h aven't had any major problems... just annoying ones.
We traded up to a Pilot and no problems yet. I have a 05 Civic and have had it for years, with no problems. I hope I CRV was a fluke... Thanks for the reply.
Is this simply a factory straight across trade? Does it improve over factory nighttime illumination? Or is there a better bulb you can get that will be better than factory that will install the same way because I see a lot of people were replacing the entire headlight housings because of the plastic getting fogged on the outsideUV degradation
Very helpful video. The CRV headlights, in particular the high beam are weak by design, a poor choice by the factory to use a single 2-filament bulb on each side, to cut costs in headlamp production. . When one flicks on the high beam, it shuts off the low beam filament and switches on the high beam filament. That single filament is totally inadequate to produce enough light for night driving on a dark highway. Most cars have the low beams stay on when the high beam is switched on, so double the light intensity. This can only be done when a separate high beam bulb is used.
Yeah, I currently have a Nissan Altima and the low beams are terrible. There is almost a recall, but not. Make me never want another Nissan. Glad you liked the video and thanks for watching!!
