- Hi, quick video tutorial on how to replace Headlight bulb in your 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 Honda Cr-v. head light bulb.
This vid is 6yrs old and STILL helping people like me change lights in their Honda's. Thank you and God Bless you, Sir. This was extremely helpful.
yeah now is when the video is most helpful because all of us who got it in that time period, the bulbs are starting to go out! Thanks for the vid!
Bless you!!! The video had crisp visuals, step by step , easy to follow instructions. As a 62 year old woman I'm feeling pretty proud after changing both bulbs.
Yessss totally empowered me!!! Lol
Important: don't touch the bulb. The grease from your hand will seriously hurt it's lifespan. I learned this the hard way after the fact from the auto mechanic that fix it after me. Now I'll never pay to have someone do it again!
(Thanks so much for making this video!) ☺
Great job. Thank you for taking the time to share. I had to change the bulbs in my 2014 CRV, in the middle of winter while I was freezing my ass off. Your video saved me from getting frostbite. 👍👍
Nice. One note. There is a "down" side to the bulb so it seats correctly. It's easy to see if you look at the three prongs. There are two opposite each other (the sides) and the third one in between (the down side). Thanks a lot!
Agreed, figuring out how to seat the bulb so the bracket goes back on was a pain until I looked at the receiver plug orientation, that helped me get the new bulb in there in the correct position and then the bracket slipped right on very nicely.
For my 2014 CR-V the middle prong orientation is up and not down. So safe practice is to look at what direction the middle prong is oriented in the old bulb when you remove it.
@@DanielNava20I'm about to change my headlight bulb on my 2014 & all you guys' feedback/direction is great to have! I just bought my replacement from O'Reilly & will do it when I get home once the heat lets up. Thank you!
2013: The middle prong is on top. There are three tabs on the 9003 bulb and there are 3 indentations where they fit. Next time, I’ll wear medical gloves; those gaskets are filthy.
Thank you for making this so simple! I'm the kind of person that I have to see what's happening to understand how it needs to be fixed, not just be given a description with the assumption that I have previous knowledge. These CRV'S really are much easier to deal with on lights than in past vehicles.
This video is 6 years old and is still making a difference- thanks!
Perfect description. Took me a little while to get the bracket to fit it snugly back against the new bulb, but less than 10 minutes total.
Thanks! I noticed my light was out the other day, so since it was raining I pulled in to the local Pep Boys to see if they could do it for me. They said I had to go to a dealer because the whole bumper needed to come off!?!? Thankfully I watched this video and was able to do it myself instead of spending WAY too much time and money going to a dealership. Great little tutorial. Much appreciated.
Noooo, they were trying to make you pay more! They wanted to change out the whole assembly when all that was needed was to change the bulb. Smart of you to look into doing it yourself! There's a reason Pep Boys is going downhill, it's because they try to screw people so much!
You are a woman. They tried to take you for a fool
Mechanics and contractors lie to female clients regularly. Should be a consumer protection law preventing that, but 😂 that would require actual respect for women instead of the superficial pop culture distractions. Good for you for learning how to do it yourself and then executing the job. And seeing through those scammers 👍
@@stormangelus6638and now they don't even sell parts; useless auto store is useless.
I have a 2011 CRV and one person has told me bumper has to come off. Another has told me it doesn't. I've looked at several vids now and none have removed a bumper. Looks almost like I could do this myself, but think I'll just have my regular mechanic go ahead and replace both bulbs while in there due to age of them.
Many, many thanks! I thought it would be much more difficult, and it would involve removing the plastic covering from the front. I'm glad I watched your video before I started to do anything. It took me about 3 minutes.
Thank you. Simple, easy, straightforward and you covered all the obstacles I encountered. 15 minutes and done.
I see why you did the passenger side light. It is easy. It doesn't have the fuse box blocking it like the driver side light does. I thought I was going to have to call Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four to get to it.
This was so helpful! I am not mechanically inclined and would just have gone and paid $60 to have it done. THANK YOU!!
Thank you very much. Really helpful. I was able to change the driver's side lamp pretty easily. I bought the replacement bulb from the Honda dealership directly since it had the lowest price and all the options available at other stores were too confusing.
I appreciate how you did this video. Believe it or not the hardest part was finding how to open the hood. Yeah, I feel like a fool but I've never had to open it and couldn't find the inside latch. Thank you for filming a complete video.
Thanks for the nice video - two things for very inexperienced people like me. Wear gloves to keep grease off your hands. Not sure why but my connector was very dirty. And when putting the rubber back on it is easy to cover one of the 3 plugs. I of course did not have good light and had a hard time figuring out why it would not connect. But very easy in the end!
Oh my goodness! Best video ever! I have a 2013 and I was able to surprise my husband and do it myself. I had a little trouble with the hook, but I played with it like you said, and I have no idea how it went back inside. Lol then it would not turn on so I had to disassemble again and tested without the rubber to make sure I was placing it correctly. I loved having accomplished this, and I would not have done it without your video. When I opened the hood and saw it, I was in a maze, and after your video, I understood every single piece of it. Thank you so much! It was an extremely cool video!!!
I just changed my headlight in less than 8 minutes. Thank you.
This was extremely helpful. Ridiculously easy and shows each steo clearly. 10/10
Great video man! Very short and to-the-point! Very helpful for me today thank you
Absolutely
Thanks for making a short, concise video. Some people like the sound of their voice way too much when making videos. Great job!
Thank you so much! I’m a woman who doesn’t know anything about cars. And I did it myself. It was tricky to pull the rubber. I took out the rubber with the old bulb instead. Putting it back was a breeze.
Thanks man, you saved me $150 at the dealership
Thank you for providing such a quick and concise tutorial. 😊
Thank you so much for a great video. It's nice to be able to learn things and do them myself without having to bother my husband (secret meaning is NOT having to wait around until he gets it done...lol.)
My 2013 CRV EXL has the "down" prong on the light on the top...the prongs make a 3-sided box with the open side to the bottom. You can look at the little metal tabs sticking out to the sides (3 of them) and make sure they are seated in the slots so the light is in the correct position to be able to fasten the clip. A personal note: I drive 5- 6 hours each night delivering newspapers. The top-dollar, ultra bright headlights are nice, but they burn out FAST if you are using them for hours at a time, regardless of brand. I go for the mid-range ones...more durable and less expensive, but still fairly bright for night driving, especially on country roads. Note for newbies: NEVER touch the bulb itself; always handle the metal back to insert. Keep a clean cloth or paper towel handy to wrap around the bulb in case you need to grab it to stabilize while you're trying to position it.
ty 2013 here. great comment 👍
Thank you for this video! I was able to successfully change my headlights in no time at all!
Great video!! Simple and to the point instructions!! Thank you so much!! 🚙💨
Thank you for this video. Saved me $50.
Straight to the point! Thank you!
Wow, this was so easy with your video, it took me 5 min… thank you!
This video probably saved me more than a few bucks lol. Thank you!
Great tutorial. Was in and out of the local O’Reilly within 15 min. Too bad I found out about the light by a routine traffic stop lol
Great video. It should be known however that changing the same bulb on the passenger side is significantly more difficult because the fuse box is in the way and there is absolutely no room to work. The hardest part is getting the clip locked in once the bulb is replaced. It can be exasperating to say the least. Ultimately, I was able to get it done using a pair of needle nose pliers (instead of my fingers) to hold the clip and push in and then down to lock it in.
I went through this last night. Unclip and move the circuit box (which only moves about 2" because of the cables) still not enough room to maneuver so I removed the bracket that held the circuit box, got the bracket off and the lightbulb out, put in the new bulb and then took 20 minutes to get the bracket back in place. Then put the bracket back and the circuit box. Geez what a pain for folks with big hands.
I hate the clip. Easy to break too. Headlight useless then.
Agreed
You can unhook the fuse box off to the side without removing any wires
Off to the side by about an inch and a half. Still can't see what you're doing or have any idea how what's in there relates to what's shown in this video. But it's all secondary to the fact that I can't get the rubber seal off anyway. It is firmly attached to whatever is in the center.
Thank you so much for this video. It was the most accurate instructional for the prongs that are on my headlights. I could not figure it out until I found your video so once again thank you.
Great view and thanks for being quick and clear!
Thanks for the great demo. It worked exactly as you described 😊👍
Thank you for making the video. Simple and easy to follow. Heading out to change my bulb now.
I need to replace my head light and this was very easy to follow. Thanks!
Very timely. I'm going to the store later for a bulb. Auto places rip the customer off. We're in the era of RUclips though. THANKS!
Glad to help
Great video. Literally replaced both of my lights in under 5 minutes
Thanks man. My girlfriend's crv had a bulb out this video was the most helpful
Worked without a hitch. Thanks a lot.
Very helpful. Exactly what I was looking. Thank you.
Thanks a lot for the details. I am able to change my 2014 CRV’s.
So so helpful! Many thanks!
This video helped me a lot. Thank you!
Thank you for this video, just changed my headlights myself.
Thanks for this!! I will say, the passenger side was easy, but the driver’s side was a little trickier with other parts in the way.
Amazing video! I was able to do it on my 2012 CRV first watch. Thank you so much for your help! C
Thank you so much. Your video was very helpful.
Fantastic! Thank you so much for making this video!
That was very helpful! Thank you!
very helpful and easy to do. thank you
Thank you so much. Just saved me $100 for labor.
Thank you for sharing this video!
Thanks for the great tip!
Thank you for sharing. It's going to be very helpful.
Nice and easy installation instructions, thank you!
Very helpful instructions. Thank you!
Thanks. Great little vid.
Thank you, this was very helpful!
Thank you!! Was super helpful!
Great time saving video!
Great job holding the camera and doing everything with one hand.
Just what I needed to know, Thank You
Nice!
The thing it didn't mention is that to change the driver's side you need a very small hand. The fuse box is right behind the bulb. I unlocked it (the fuses box) from the three tabs that hold it and lift it up a little to make a little bit more room. It won't come out because it is connected to several cables, but moving it just a bit helped. Good luck!
Thanks so much! Very clear and helpful video
nice camera work, very helpful, thank you
I needed this help. Thanks so much!
Excellent Video. Only problem was I needed my wife's smaller hand to unlock the light from the clip. Otherwise thanks so much.
Thank you very much - very clearly explained.
Very helpful, thank you!
Thank you. I just saved $$$ today😊
Good clear video, you can see everything.
thank you so much you saved me!!
Perfect! Thanks!
Excellent thank you! :)
Thanks, obviously it's a simple procedure, but right now it's cold outside so I don't have to waste time standing in the cold figuring out how to change it!
Appreciate it boss. Easy and changed my bulb to
Thx for the video. Great success!
Thanks; still useful. I covered that rubber boot in vaseline when I put it back together; don't worry it's not conductive in case you get some on the bulb contacts. Honda dealership before me dielectric greased the pins also. Tight in the driver side but I used a screwdriver to gently pry the boot off the bulb (heat from bulbs you can't turn off (F U DRL!!) causes it to stick) and it came out easily.
Salamat. So easy method well illustrated.
The driver's side light does have the fuse box a few inches from it. That being said it was still only a five minute procedure.
Excellent! Thank you!
THANK YOU!!! 👍😁
Thank you so much! I did it!
exactly what I needed!
great demo. just what I needed to know. thanks!
I have a 2015 CRV and you don’t have to remove the rubber guard. Just unclick the connector, pull out the bulb, and replace.
Best video ever!!!
. . excellent ...thanks
Excellent! Thanks!!
You saved me. Lol. Thank you for the video
