Finally someone showing the same avg MPG as me, sick of these RAM owners claiming 20mpg
I only get that on the highway with cruise set below 70 lol. Granted, mine is exceptionally crappy because it’s winter, and drifting doesn’t help on top of the cold temps 🤣
@@TonyTheTruckGuy I'm not getting mine out on the highway enough is the problem. Seems these days all I do is chauffer the kids around. Cheers.
@@archstanton3636 Haha, that’ll do it!
This is why I love my 08’ Dodge Ram 1500! No traction control, stability control, or abs! Always fun!
Thank You... Time to have fun in my Rebel... Nice Truck btw👌
Makes sense. ESC stand for electronic stability control, which is integrated with ABS and throttle controls
Correct!
Pressing the Traction Control button while in 4x4 Hi will disable Traction Control and holding the Traction Control button while in 4x4 Hi for 5 seconds will further disable ESC. This is very beneficial in low traction conditions, On my 2014 Ram 3500 when in 4x4 Low both are disable automatically.
Yeah unfortunately I wanted it disabled in 2wd but they don’t want you having that kind of fun I guess lol
4x4 low all traction control is disabled, 4x4 high if you hold it 5 sec you can disable the the stability control in addition , however in 2WD you cant only spin the tires... barely as the stability control comes on real fast once the wheel spin. Which is a real downer for anyone that wants to do any real driving in their Hemi powered trucks!
Some newer vehicles use the ABS/Stabliity control system for brake force distribution as well. Do you know if this truck has brake force proportioning through the hydraulics, or through the ABS system?
I’m not sure if these trucks have actual brake force distribution like Jeep’s do. On mine if I try to floor it in the snow with traction on, it just limited the power. But I already have limited slip in the rear so I’m not sure if a non LSD truck would try to apply brake force to the spinning wheel or not.
It fled my badass drift up
Did ya try either holding it for 5 seconds for the 2nd stage off or use tow haul and hit the t/c once? This worked on other various years
Holding it down and tow/haul did nothing. Same deal with my 2012. Only way to disable it without a tuner is in 4 low or pull fuse unfortunately. I'll have to try hitting or holding the traction button while IN tow/haul.
You can unplug when your wheel sensors to for your abs and your traction control it's like right it's right next to the apartment and engine but I don't know how to explain it. But it's very easy to unplug that in a turn all that s*** off too
1:56 building on the left is Bills Gun Range. Howdy neighbor 😂
Haha, hello there! I was actually just there picking up a new toy the other day 😅
My traction control light has come on and I have lost trailer electric brakes and cruise control although electric brakes working by dash manual control. Will pulling these fuse help me out. In Australia and over a 1000 km from nearest Ram dealer. Thanks
Unfortunately, pulling the fuses would cause the same effect you’re already experiencing. No cruise control or anything like that. It may be worth checking the fuses just to make sure none are blown though. If they all look good then unfortunately you’ll have to keep limping it the way you are now with manual brake lever until you can get in to the dealer for them to look at it.
now that same traction control button you are pushing in the video.... i dont have power to any of those and been tryin to figure that out...... any help would be super awesome
I just checked my knock off version of All Data, but unfortunately it doesn't break it down enough for me in the wiring diagram. It just says "body control module", but I'm not seeing anywhere on the wiring diagram where the traction control switch is. Might need to get on the 5th gen Ram forums or bite the bullet at the dealer for this one. I'm sorry I couldn't help more.
Will this work on my 2016 cummins?? Please answer we just got some snow and I'm dieing inside
It might not be the exact same fuse, but if you pull just about any fuse for your ABS or stability control, it should work. You’ll just have to look at your fuse box cover and see which ones are labeled accordingly. Be safe 😋
Does this work if i have a 2018? Is it the same name or different
Might be a different fuse, but any fuse that you find that says stability control or ABS should do the trick.
What about pressing and holding TC for a few seconds vs pulling the fuse
I tried that because that's how it worked on my buddies F-150, but on the Ram, all it does is disable traction control. Stability control stays active no matter how long you hold it. Only way to turn stability off is pull fuse or put truck in 4 low.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy mine is a 2019 ram and holding down traction control button disables it. It says Esc Disabled On Dash Screen After About 10 Sec
@@0002ken But have you successfully drifted? Mine would still correct and straighten me out.
You can disable the traction control by the button and it's not like the cars there isn't what you're having issues getting the sideways if you want is because the electronic stability control what you can't turn off unless you start pulling fuses like you had to
Correct. Seems to be the only way to disable stability control unless you get a Tazer or other accessory that’s similar.
I had a pull off with another truck in 2 wheel only...and when I would accelerate...it would not give me nothing... im guessing it's because of this control...next time If I remove it..i should have full power correct???
Haha, yeah, you should. Otherwise, it might have to be in 4 low.
Will this work for a 2500 diesel?
I have not tried it on a diesel so I'm not sure to be honest! I'd suspect they have a different fuse layout, though.
Is it just me but you removed a 50amp fuse and its written mod esp 40amp ? Did you removed mod iar instead?
Looks like there’s 2 for MOD ESP. I removed the F26 fuse which is a 50 amp
Aaahh i miss that mod esp 50 lol i know see it thanks buddy
@@fao123456 Haha no problem, have fun!
I didn’t have it fully off
So does the traction control send power to the other wheel like an lsd, or does it only apply brake to the spinning wheel?
Just applies the brakes to the wheels with no traction!
Will pulling the fuse mess the computer up after?
I've only heard of 2 people on here complaining that their lights on the dash stayed on after putting the fust back in, but I question if they had the truck off when pulling and reinstalling the fuse, because the truck must be off when reinstalling it, and I really recommend pulling it when the engine is off also. I never had a problem with mine, though.
No check engine lights or anything of the like?
Yes, multiple lights show up. Just put the truck in park and turn it off, wait a second, then start it again and should be no issues.
To turn off all traction you have to be stopped in 4wd and foot on the brake and hold the traction button for 10 seconds.
Right, but it doesn’t work in 2wd
I wonder if you can do like on a charger ? But in the video I didn’t hear anything about the just for 2wd.
Only way to do it that I know of is the way you mentioned, but to do it in 2wd I used my Tazer DT and now if I hold the button down I can fully turn off stability control
2:24 did you just pop your hood twice just for that shot?
Sure did lol
So I did this and it worked, replaced the fuse turned the truck back on and lights won't go away. Any tips?
The ABS and brake lights and everything are still on the dash? That’s odd I’ve done this a few times and haven’t had that problem. Was your ignition on or was the truck running when you pulled the fuse? Best to do it when truck is off but if you have the fuse in and you’ve tried restarting the truck a few times, then I would disconnect the battery for a few minutes. I’m not sure why yours is doing that.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy truck was off, turned it on had my fun and turned it back off to put it back in and it won't turn the lights off again. I tried the spare 50 amp fuse under the hood and still nothing
@@Schrambo_ Yeah if the original fuse wasn’t blown then that 50A won’t change anything. Disconnect battery for like 15 minutes then reconnect and see if it’s still an issue. Like I said that’s very strange as I’ve had no other reports of this.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy okay, thanks anyway! I'll try the battery thing. Thought maybe I had the fuse in backwards but put it in the same way you did and you said it doesn't matter anyway when I rewatched. I'll comment when I figure it out
@@Schrambo_ Sounds good man I’m interested to see what’s up. Sorry this is happening. I would think that even if the lights are on after disconnecting the battery, you’d be able to maybe rent a scan tool from the auto parts store if you don’t have one to clear out the codes but hopefully disconnecting the battery fixes it.
Why does everyone want to keep the traction control off, especially if you live somewhere where you get snow in the winter?
So you can drift! Don't get me wrong, I leave it on 99% of the time, but I occasionally like to have some fun.
will this throw a code?
Probably since all the lights come on. But they go inactive when you put the fuse back in
Does anyone know why when I do this and try to drift it still stops me
Someone else mentioned fuse f26 will work but I haven’t checked to see what that fuse is for
What about f29 that also says mod esp
@@offthe58_crane99 Give it a shot! Just make sure the ignition is off when you pull it.
You can also just hold the traction control button down for a bit
That turns off traction, but not stability control.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy hold it down for about 10 seconds and it will turn them both off. It will pop up on your dash. But only when you are in 4 wheel drive. Not 2 wheel drive.
@@nealb3298 Right, only 4wd. And I think that only works in 4 low on mind. I want 2wd with no traction or stability for drifting lol
in 4x4 Hold down the traction button for 30 seconds and it disables everything just like pulling the fuse.
The whole goal here though was to achieve that in 2wd.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy I find it more fun in 4x4 mode.
@@jcb5388 Can kick out back end farther and at slower speed in 2wd though
try holding the traction control button for 10 seconds it will turn off the electronic stability control
That only works in 4wd on these trucks unfortunately. I think just 4 high to be specific.
Why wouldn't you just hold traction control button for five seconds it shuts off
Try it, it doesn’t work. It will let you spin the tires all day, but as soon as the back end kicks out, the yaw sensors kick in and the truck tries to straighten you out, making it impossible to drift.
Thats too new of a truck to drift with leave it alone
Haha, nothing is too new! Just don't hit anything 😋
Bro you talk a lot get to the point
It's not even a 7 minute video lmao. Most people drag their shit out beyond 10 minutes every single video so they can manually place ads in them for more money. At least I didn't do that....just wanted everything to be clear.
What is wrong with you?
That doesn't work .the only way is fuse f26
Clearly it works, I just did it 😂
Okay I might be more on but why would you want to take a brand new $60,000 pickup truck and turn it sideways when you've got countless availability of other older trucks you could do that with when disabling it totally possibly cause you to wreck a brand new $60,000 pickup truck? Is that the reason my auto insurance is so high because the stupid s*** like that? Thanks
Lmao. Well to start, it was $53k MSRP and I didn't pay anywhere near that. I also have zero accidents on my driving record and I'm almost 30. I don't have an abundance of vehicles, so if I want to drift, this is my only option. I also don't set out to wreck my truck lol, I do it in wide open areas where it's highly unlikely that I would hit anything or cause any damage. My insurance is $170/mo which i feel is pretty high.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy also this feature prematurely wear your brakes. I've been driving for 44 years and I'm very easy on brakes but this dumbass feature killed my brakes way too soon.
