My favorite is when you're chasing and they throw one off in your path and you go slightly left or right and harpoon it and then use it on them yourself

Yea well ive just started playing today, and im a bit disappointed, is everything cosmetic? Like nothing has stats, i can work my ass off for the dearest sniper/ship and its all just cosmetic, I really don’t understand the point in the game, dont get me wrong its a beautiful game, i just dont get the point of grinding for cosmetic skins and literally nothing else? Maybe someone can enlighten me?

I hope for Season 10 they make it so you can purchase rowboats from the shipright and choose what type of rowboat you want, I also would like it if they made some hunters call voyages where there maybe is some kraken/megaladon sightings where you have to hunt them done.
This isnt very important unlike Anti-Cheat and stuff but I would,really appreciate if they would consider this.

That skull of destiny really hurts. I’ve spent so many hours trying to collect the lights just to get robbed at the very ends sea of Thieves is so stressful
FotD's are definitely high risk, high reward. But the Skull at least makes it easier than ever to start and the scaling difficulty means solos/duos have a viable chance to finish it relatively quickly with the proper equipment!

You can also hand in emissary flags to the skeleton hanging in the cage above the reaper tables on outposts if you're a reaper yourself.

Selling fish to sovereigns is a very underrated change
Very true! And I feel the extra 50% to still sell to Hunter's Call is totally fair
Means you can log in and literally just fish for a bit to gain some loot without risk, had my brig out and spent 2 hours just fishing with some randoms right next to the sovereign dock, cooking up fish and selling them off. It's not the best amount of money, but it's nice to have something to do that gives you a little bit without too much risk involved.

I litterally got into a war with the server for a fof yesterday but imagine the fight for a fof when season 9 comes out and everyone wants the new chest
Especially since they added a specific cosmetic to the chest making it more worthwhile

I kind of miss flameheart. Got a funny memory out of the event when my friend was introducing me to the game. That and miss sailing, seeing the floating skull throwing insults.

You forgot You can choose to sell any item while it’s still in a treasure chest. No more dropping the chest, take out the item, sell it, pick the chest back up.
That's is such a nice underrated change. Hard to fit all the changes in a short!
If this was what Sea of Thieves looked like at launch, the game would’ve done great

also peoples loot from when they die in the red sea does not get destroyed but instead moves to another area

The first mermaid statue I broke in the update dropped 3 gems, I was so surprised.

Bait crates, but no new fish. Replacement for Merrick at Stephen's Spoils. No Hunter's Call Emissary which I know many were hoping for.
50% Extra Gold for turning in Fish at a Sea Post instead of the Sovereigns though.

@@FunnyFreak_ Depends mostly on whether you were making a dedicated fishing trip or not. Usually if you're actually trying to get lots of fish more than just passively fishing while you sail, you'll probably be closer to a seapost anyhow.
Plus some of those fish _are_ worth it.
Wish I could play this game. Probably the only exclusive that’s ever made me catch feels.
Highly recommended! And it's easier than ever to play since it's also on XBOX Cloud Gaming. So you can literally play it from a web browser if you have XBOX Game Pass Ultimate.

They actually listened to players. That war map thing is amazing. No more chasing players for hours just to have a little pvp fight

@@JonBardcore yea the hour glass thing. It's what me and my friends wanted after they stupidly removed arena. After they removed arena, pvp became so stale bc people kept sailing away the second we get within 100 meters lol. The game actually got boring even with friends
I used to watch videos on sea of thieves and a lot of what I heard is how rare megs are yet I had found about 7 in my first couple days playing
The Haroon update is so helpful
Seagulls are helpful, man. I looted a sunken ship that had a shit ton of treasure on it. I don't know if it was a player's ship, but there was a reaper's chest, though.
Harpoons auto dropping loot and being able to sell fish to soverigns are some of the best changes the game has ever recieved tbh
Agreed on the harpoons for sure but I'll still sell fish to Hunter's Call to grab that extra 50%!
Imo the food radial is the most useless of these, I just spam 3 anyway and i never have more than 3 different foods on me in a situation where i need it
I think that update is more for the controller players of the game.

I'm pretty sure the chest of fortune also appears on (player) ships leaving the fort, that's where I usually get them.
increased kraken spawn chance on the galleon, and it only happens when another ship is coming towards you or a crewmember decided to take a leak (still waiting on them to just remove the kraken from the game, the change of it being a free sink for anyone targeting you is too high to stack, and stacking is fun)
Stacking is fun but those surprise kraken strikes always get a chuckle out of me when it was someone chasing me
I always like vids that end in a loop with the start

It's definitely a nice addition but it wasn't announced until the update actually came out and this short was released before that. Otherwise, would have definitely added it!
Funny story actually, I decide to play sot again after completely skipping season 8, get a voyage started, receive a map, head to the island, and as I prepare to dock, I am met with “the haunting of cannon cove” and am destroyed by a fleet of ghost ships.
While solo slopping.
Oh man, it spawned on you while you were there?! I was always curious if world events took player location into account on selecting spawn. Guess not!

Increased Kraken spawns? Damn I must be hella unlucky (or lucky depending how you look at it). I’ve played like 15-20 hours of season 9 (started playing again 4-5 days ago after not playing since 2020) and I haven’t even seen a Kraken. I have seen maybe 20 megs though. I feel like back in 2020 I was tripping over tentacles every time I dared to sail to an outpost with treasure to sell 😂

I remember for a time in like 2018-19 I had a Kraken spawn on me nearly every time I left an outpost.
I've definitely noticed more mega than krakens but we'll see!
This update is essentially quality of life and I’m all for it. It’s what the game needs right now and opens the way for season 10 to add something a bit bigger.

Yeah, the Meg and Kraken spawns are no jokes. Was doing an Athena quest with 3 friends and fought a Meg and after killing it, immediately got attacked by a Kraken right after. Wild.
Megs are like "WE MISSED YOU!"

@@JonBardcore a lot actually (there was like 2 week I needed to play solo because it doesn’t really interested my mother to play with me and I have no friend that want to play with me. playing solo really make me want to quite the game especially when I’m just getting harassed by a reaper from the start, have zero loot,didn’t started a quest and zero skill at ship battle so I know I will just sink. but since I started playing with her, it’s going a lot a better, no more reaper going after me for no reason and only good pirate encounter)
My first time going on a solo voyage and I got hit by a meg.... I freaked out and just sailed as fast as I could 😂

My friend told me his thoughts on what they should add and I thought I should share them. So we where talking about what a lot of people are talking about hunters call. Getting emissary. Maybe a few more fish, he brought up what if they added a big stationary fishing pole that trolls of the back for Big fish or sharks and u could catch them and fights them. I thought it would be cool let me know what you guys think
Not many new features, but plenty of much needed quality of life upgrades. More megs, ships, and krakens is the best part

Im a sea of thieves player who stopped playing in season 6 and you made me come back to the sea. Thank you, but I have one question what stop a player from red sea running?
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you're returning. The big change with the red sea in Season 9 is that players can still run into it but all their loot will respawn at the last safe area before you hit the red sea back on the track they sailed from. So if they are hoping to get rid of the loot and have everyone lose, that's not going to happen anymore!
Skull of destiny is the best part about this
It is a very nice quality of life feature they've added, for sure.
