@@silvercat18 I've never seen them say that they are a new addition, they just said that colored rowboats were going tl be added in Season 10, and either way you have no right to be angry at it, like you said, it didn't take them any effort, so literally no money or time was spent adding them in, if you're actually complaining about this, you aren't actually mad, you just want a reason to hate Rare

Just an idea but: Winter Isles. A whole set of new fish like Devil fish but maybe idk Yeti Fish? Frostbite Fish? Anything honestly.. And it would be opposite of DevilsRoar, with snow, and icebergs floating around in a pattern that could shred the ship, with unique quests and such, maybe a kind of Sunken Kingdom in a giant iceberg. Would be cool.

I know this is a bit controversial at the moment but I live Safer Seas as an option.
So many of my friends have tried Sea of Thieves, done some low level voyages on a Sloop, only to get rolled up on by a Galleon or Brig, lost everything and quit the game after only 1-3 sessions because they felt unfairly punished as a new player who barely knows how sailing works.
Obviously its part of the game, yes. But SoT's new player onboarding needed something to prevent this becoming a game with Team Fortress 2 Veteran Syndrome (basically a closed gaming ecosystem where the skill gap between new players and experienced ones is so vast every match becomes "Stomp, or get stomped on.") with a price tag attached.
I think a good idea for guilds is that a guild can have a collective gold count that all members in a guild share and it separate from your on gold count
Perhaps to expand on it, the ability that if the captain of the guild purchases a guild cosmetic, it's automatically unlocked for all players who are currently in the guild (with it being purchasable for future members with personal funds)
I personally really liked started on pvp as someone who recently started, it makes me more cautious and always ready for an attack. today I sniped someone at an outpost and then set their ship on fire for 7k gold, so much fun.
Finally a good update. I'm stoked
I got some ideas that would be SO COOL. First your own pirate hideout u can invite friends to. U can party, duel, have a brawl pit, buy mini games with gold, and gamble with each other (that’s my favorite part. Also custom servers where u can summon world events (absolutely no progression), invite friends to other ships on the server and fight or somthn, and make really hard boss fights. A new region through the sea of the damned (kinda like a memory thing so it wouldn’t be all fake and gloomy) with other players and loads of new stuff. This would all just make the game fun while having something to work towards

Hmm, 7 months for that and safer seas for new players. These guys won't learn PvP + they'll get bored really quickly (selling without sovereign...)
I think that's why Safer Seas will only ever be used as a temporary measure. I can't imagine anyone who would want to stick around them once they got comfortable in the game.

In terms of safer seas it’s good because it will let the new players experience the game and get use to controls and things of the sort as though it’s a better maiden voyage where you can properly learn the ropes. Another thing with safer seas is how people won’t be there to be toxic if you’re trying to do tall-tales so it’s a good place to go for those.
@@JonBardcore I beg to differ. It's a kid's mode. Sailing as a pirate is very popular for kids, but ganking adults who never touch grass griefing ruins it. This mode is a godsend for those who want to play with their kids.
Only 30% rewards tho does mean that even if you do get robbed a lot this isn't worth it. Should have been at least 50%.

the only thing im wishing for in safer seas is the ability to invite one other ship/crew, because even if its only 1 other crew, i think it could be a good way for people to practice pvp in an environment thats only as toxic as you and your friend want it to be

@JonBardcore yeah and with the siren skull I had something in mind too, a blood stained skull allowing you to summon 3 skeleton (1 pistol shot weak) and they would basically follow you, or do things on the ship, repairing or shooting cannons, it's basically kind of protection nothing more nothing less, they will not remove water from the ship because they don't do that in normal game either

Major weapons rebalance as well, should keep the turbosweats at bay and PVP halfway playable for the next month
Wait... a semi private server to do things and level up in? *hops in a rowboat and returns to the sea* (I know there's restrictions and such but the chance to actually do things without being targeted while doing so, especially when trying to learn things makes it more inviting before taking on the bigger challenge).

Ive started playing sot during the hungering deep so ive learned everything on online servers so safer seas is mostly either for tall tales or for noobs to study this game

I feel like the people that wanted "private servers" aka safer seas are bawling at that 30% earnings. Also can't have emissary stuff to buff it either since the feature is missing the danger of the bonuses.
That feeling is probabaly misplaced.
As wheb people were asking for a mode like that, they were comparing it to GTA's "safe mode", which had the same consequences.
Want more money? Dont play on safe and people are okay with that.
@@NotAnElf For all intents and purposes that safer seas came to be is to get all of your factions done, complete tall tales in a safe manner, and also to promote more player made content/exploration. I still love the idea of safer seas and I may as well have misplaced feelings about it for the earnings but it itself is a tool to get to what you need rather than a way to speed up the players earnings. That I feel we can agree on at the least. Besides that I hope you have a wonderful plundering on the seas!

Other players are the best and worst thing about sea of thieves. Never know what you're gonna get. Is it the tryhard that spawntraps and talks endless trash. Or the random guy that just sits on your bowsprit and plays music

So people in pve can get all of the super hard to grind skins and Shri whereas people who want to play the actual game and have to bust their ads to get the stuff and face a higher level of risk. If we’re risking more we should be making more, and I don’t mean in gold, I mean in exclusive shit you can’t get if you don’t deal with the same level of risk

@@JonBardcoreDefinitely the safer seas addition🎉 I’m hoping it’s going to allow many people to enjoy the story and system the game has without the stress of having their boat sunk by other players, noted it is a pirate game that heavily involves stealing and backstabbery😂 I think this sandbox type mode will help many new pirates get their sea legs💯💯

My question is will guild crews allow for being placed on same server? I’ve been trying to do glitterbeard for 3 years now and I cannot for the life of me get 8 pirates together to do the quest.

One part of Guild dont get it. Ship of Guild owner stay in game after he log out and rest of Guild can use it. Dude....if that is a thing RARE must remove paying gold for removing visual damage from capitan ships! Imagine you back to game next day and need pay gold bc ship was wrecked over and over when you was offline.

Player base falling? I’m pretty sure SoT has gained a larger audience than it’s original release. There’s still a lot going on and there’s more content in the update they just said it would come through other channels.
I cant speak for everyone but if thats all were getting after a 9 month wait then its pretty disappointing. Then again they could be hiding some exciting stuff from us for now

@@hamsterdmgriddle me this. What’s the difference if those people were not interested in fighting you and were just gonna quit the game. What difference does a person who potentially quits the game vs just going to safer sea have on you?
Guilds feel like a lot of missed potential and is probably the weakest addition of the three. You could queue with other ships to play with large groups or even do guild on guild PvP requests, it just feels like more milestones without the cool ship trinkets.
The new world event is really cool, I never got to play arena and this is similar to that or that old wandering reaper event years back. I think it should be done via a matchmaking system though instead of a world event, so you can do it whenever, like Arena.
PvE servers, as controversial as they are, is good for retention and expanding the playerbase. A shame you can’t get more than one crew on though, that would be great for custom game modes, PvP practice, role play, etc.
I was hoping for more regarding the experienced player, like a new on demand voyage or world element like siren shrines or treasuries or even a fundamental change to the game like a new weapon or something.

So basically safer seas have access to everything up to level 40 in the game... honestly that's seriously a lot
It's a little less than half the way XP-wise to Pirate Legend (XP rates significantly slow up in the 40s), no Captaincy, no Guilds, and no high-tier loot/events.

I don't think safer seas is a good idea, I get that newer players would want a place to do stuff but as soon as they enter open seas they won't be prepared for the pvp aspect of it. Edit we all have our own opinions please do not take mine personally.

i feel its good even for older players. im a pirate lord, but i get anxiety dealing with the pvp culture like xbox cod era players thinking its fun to just shit on people. i just want to fish, or treasure hunt, play the game or the story, i dont want to feel hunted all the time in a game i want to just enjoy basking in sometimes. theres no other game like it for me.
I mean the alternative is them being thrown into pvp regardless. Most games have you face bots before real people, no real way to train them lol

Wait wait wait you're telling me that for the people that don't want to get rolled in pvp and just enjoy the game without worrying about people chasing them every second only get 30% of the normal loot and rep that would be acquired that's an unbelievably low amount for them to delay this and then call it a super season and a milestone is pathetic if this small amount of content is what was procured unbelievable.

to all the people thinking the safer seas addition goes against the game, or new players,
i dont think yall are thinking about what the true player base is, or youre apart of the player base that turns people away from the game as a whole. I think, if its introduced as a bit of a single player mode in a way, that players with anxiety (like me) will like the game for its base content far more. the gold tax doesnt matter to me at this point, im far past pirate lord and dont know what to even do with my gold, but I'm tired of the xbox cod era shit talk reapers get into while hunting other players - i just want to Enjoy The Game. after coming home from work, i want to not feel like im being hunted all the time, my ptsd sparks, when all i want is to fish or travel the seas.
To me, this would be a great season. To some who don't understand, underwhelming maybe, sure. But I feel since the beginning of the games release rare did themselves a disservice not having an offline game mode anyway. People will play the game with or without the online function, its just fun, pvp or no.

I understand your point but the people who move over to these servers, how long before they grow tired of a challengeless server and move on to other games leaving sea of thieves completely or they'll try moving on to the normal servers. Get completely trashed to give up and move on to other games anyways
The anxiety of losing everything is what makes the game good. It makes selling loot more rewarding because you had to earn and protect it. Also Pirate game
@@magicpyroninjathis would’ve happened anyways. People quit this game arguably faster because they weren’t eased into it, just thrown into a pit of the most radioactive people alive. I think this might increase the overall play base as it reaches out to a larger portion of the community.

So sad they didn't add the ability to invite other ships. They really made it so that the people on safer seas can only have a use for the PvErs, but not for the PvPers that wan to fight their friends. Absolutely pathetic.
I hope in the future everyone will have access to the custom servers partners have access to for this particular purpose.

I love Safer Seas. I'm a Pirate Legend, and Sea of Thieves is my absolutely favorite game to just chill and play. It's my comfort game, and it's great to get through so much without someone ruining hours of progress.
Not a fan of the 30% penalty though...
Technically 70% penalty. But it's because Rare sees Safer Seas as a new player haven than anything else.

I'll be honest, season ten looks horrid. Not many new cosmetics, possible higher faction limits, the new server instead of adding something like npcs for hire that can fire cannons but not save your ship, maybe a lot more gallys, but could help against cheaters and people too advanced for anything

This is the nail in the coffin for this game, they wasted our time and developed things that are really boring and not going to further develop the seas. I’m completely done with this game now, was excited for the PVE servers then immediately lost hype when it’s designed for new players and doesn’t let you do anything of the actual game.
We waited almost 9 months for this trash and all they did is re-use assets from existing things. No new areas, no new story, no new things to play around with in the sandbox. Rare just goes, “Oh lookie you got colored rowboats now, a new skull, and a guild system that’s only going to benefit mainly alliance servers”.
I also am not a big fan of this new drip feed content thing Rare is doing, honestly if all the stuff isn’t ready by the launch date of a season then don’t release the update. This is especially annoying with the Monkey Island talk tales, this getting out of hand and should be stopped.
I already told myself this before watching the preview, that if Season 10 is something that’s likely a waste of time then I’d be completely through with this game.
This game is going to be completely dead after this update, because in a months time no one is actually going to care about any of this.

Thanks for not calling the Safer Seas feature "PVE servers". Safer Seas isn't going to be a true PVE server. A true PVE server would be Adventure mode with no players.
To be honest, it seems so boring. We don't need more social features, which only gives few new rewards and nothing new. We don't really need pve servers for 'protecting' new players from sweat lords.
We just need more world events and actual content, like this upcoming Skull voyage to keep players busy and entertaining. It really seems like a very low effort update for me :/
Also this is just another slap in the face to the players who sweated to earn the title of Legendary Hunter of SoT. First, the similar title from captaincy update and a bait crate, then shipwrecks that players can spawn to fish for black cloud wreckers, and PvE servers where you can fish without any risk. And, of course, veterans who earned the title before all of this will get nothing.. 🥱
