This is a great interview. Due to the nature of the topic and massive re-learning and an abandonment of ideas learned when people were raised, they find it hard to accept. However, when they do , they find it makes much greater coherent sense of the Bible as a whole.

Great interview. I discovered preterist eschatology about six years ago and my mind was duly blown for some time. My faith is more stable than ever and God's love and faithfulness are ever more evident to me. There is a remarkable difference in living in the world while wearing the dispensationalist glasses (I grew up Baptist/Pentecostal) and having shed those and seeing the world much more optimistically and yet realistically without grasping after some unpromised political utopia. The kingdom is here and the new Jerusalem is the capitol whose gates are never closed. Having seen it's gleaming in this world through newly cleared vision, I cannot unsee it. Thank you both for your ministries.

They are being exposed and their policies rejected en masse. It might not be happening as fast as you or I would like, but they are failing. Thank you Bruce Gore. Your series on Revelation really is spot on. More of both the old and New Testament makes even more sense. It’s a shame so many pastors are misleading the church with false left behind nonsense. The parable of the wheat and tares alone demolishes the pre trib rapture lie. I’m listening to your series on John next. Keep teaching with the Holy Spirit. He’s the one that’s teaching us through people like yourself. Question, how do so many pastors that are high up in Christianity get off track with left behind? McArthur just to name one. They will get in your face and call you deceived.

This is great. Most modernist read the Bible incorrectly. Jesus and the apostles were talking to people At That Time! Not 2K years later. A narcissists generation wants it all about them
That's the biggest problem. Many Christians have a view of the Bible that is closer to the way Muslim's view the Quran. The Bible isn't a magical book dictated word for word from God to a single person. It's a collection of books and letters written over the course of 1000 years about specific situations and times in history... and written to very specific audiences.
That's what is most baffling about Revelation. The author specifically, very clearly addresses the book to 7 churches that were there at the time he was writing. He even talks about very unique situations going on in each church. It can't be clearer who he is writing to. The fact that people want to make it all about them 2000 years later is egomaniacal to say the least.

For example he disproved his own argument then said it wasn't right but never explained why or completely ignores old testament which covers some of the issues brought up. I would love to be able to ask questions to get those holes filled... But this was a very poor coverage of Eschotoligical things.

You may find it enlightening when he covers the birth of dispensationalism and how it proliferated. The playlist is called “Apocalypse in Space and Time” it contains 60 videos of teaching. I have always found the dispensational view point very confusing. I read a number of books that espoused dispensetionalism but somehow it didn't make sense. I felt they were attempting to piece together portions of scripture to make sense of their position ut it wasn't at all contextual scriptural. When i was exposed to preterism (not hyper preterism) the book of Daniel and Revelation began to make sense. Bruce gore is very clear and informed, I thank God for him.

If we are in the 1000 years then it means that there will be a final rebellion in the end according to revelation 20 before death is destroyed.
We are in the 'Little Season' now. The Time of deception, which Pref. Gore and I disagree upon. It is clear people are Still being deceived, entire Nations have gone astray. There is much evidence that there was a 1,000 year time period that produced tremendous beauty in architecture etc...then, when Satan was loosed many of these structures have been defaced with pagan symbolism as well as literally burned to the ground. We could be in the time just before the Gog, Magog War as described in Rev. 20. But, just a guess.

We have to get you on so we can do some dialogue on apologetics and evangelism. You should get Tiffany Hosea involved as well. Fantastic discussion! It did seem to go a little awry on the millennial reign at the end. It seems to me the position Gore is taking there can only be held when ignoring the many instances in the prophets (and Psalms) that speak of a time when the Lord is literally, physically located in a spot on the Earth, ruling. Of course, Psalm 2 famously states that "I will set My King on My holy hill". But then there's Micah 4 that says in the latter days the house of the Lord will be established on the top of the mountains, above all other hills, and that people will flow to it and say "come, let us go up and be taught by Him". Zechariah 14:16 also says people will go up to where the King is to worship Him, and to celebrate the feast of Tabernacles (God with us). Ezekiel 39 says that the Lord Himself will draw up the nations to where He is in the north, where the mountains of Israel are - they think they are coming to make war with Him and the camp of the Saints, but the Lord says He is drawing them up in order to destroy them with fire from Heaven (Gog/Magog). The encircling of the camp of the saints at the end of satan's little season (which is AFTER the millennial reign) clearly indicates that the Lord Himself is present in that specific location on the Earth. A literal reign on the Earth. Shalom!

Christs testament, his last will, is valid and active with his death and/or with the destruction of the temple.
The following observation relates to how we have imposed things on the biblical text which has allowed error and misunderstanding to seep in. There were no “chapters” in the text. I know it seems pedantic to remind people of that fact, but it is kinda important. Chapters tend to impose an order and contextual structure that shapes perception of how the text is read. When the author does so, the divisions are truly internal and meaningful to the text. When editors or others add chapter and verse their particular impressions are superimposed on the text. I like my standard Bible-and use chapter and verse often. I also have a smooth reading Bible and one on audio. They have no chapter and verse breaks and no “headings” (example: my Spirit-Filled Life NKJV study Bible has “Jesus and the Fig Tree” before the passages where Jesus encounters the fig tree. Innocuous in that instance, but it disconnects the passages from the previous ones.)
Agree. And even more so, I would stress that there were no pericopes and no verses either. The number of times people think a single verse taken out of context or the editor inserted pericope heading is enough to establish doctrine is disturbing. I'd be happier if people at least read the whole chapter their verse appears in and explained how it fits into the flow of the text, but people treat verses like it is a choose your own theology adventure book that you get to mix and match until you come up with your preferred beliefs.
When it comes to dating the NT, I find it interesting that none of the NT authors mention the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. Hebrews (a book we don't know the date or author of) clearly implies that the temple and sacrificial system are still in place. The gospels have Jesus' prediction of the temple being destroyed, but never seem to gloat or make reference to the fact that it actually came true. Particularly John (regarded as the last gospel). John has a habit of translating and explaining for his audience (rabbi means teacher, for example) or saying things that would happen later as he tells his story of Jesus (he mentions that Judas is the one who would betray Jesus). But none of the gospels actually point out that the temple WAS EVENTUALLY destroyed. None of the NT epistles (at least the ones that survived) mention it either. That is an earth-shattering event that you think would be made reference to if the books were written after 70AD (or edited by a later redactor).
I know it’s three years later but I believe David Chilton’s book was re-printed by American Vision
One of the great ethnocentric projections into biblical literature is the constant assumption that a biblical book like Revelation has one date of completion., as if publication in the ancient Near East was operating on the modern methods of review, editing, submission and printing. Since the books were "living' words, alive in the hearing of the assembles. they could well have been formed like living organisms, in ongoing stages. one stage of Revelation seems rooted in mid 60s AD experience, another layer perhaps decades later.
There is no evidence that it was not written in one sitting. Written prophecies were not “organic” documents that morphed over time. They were very carefully and completely copied exactly as written.

Yeah I apologize for the audio quality! I’ve fixed it since then. The primary difference between the two is second coming of Christ. Partial preterists hold to the fact that the second coming has yet to occur which will be followed by the final final judgement. Full preterists believe that all of the events, including the second coming Has been fulfilled.

I have always been more drawn to Vespasian being the 7th head of the beast in Revelation.

@@BrotherAaronSpeaks Daniel has four beasts which I understand as Babylon, Medes/Persians, Greece and last Rome.
The four beasts are those that exercised rulership over Jerusalem for a time period each.
The fourth beast being Rome sees a small horn rising and humiliating three. I believe that small horn that rose up through the army ranks was Vespasian who became victorious in the year of the four emperors. So the other three of Otho, Galba and Vitellius were not of great importance when it came to Jerusalem, but Vespasian was as he oversaw its destruction.
When Jerusalem was gone the beasts came to their end. The new Jerusalem above would not be ruled over like earthly Jerusalem.
So although Vespasian went on to rule some more years as emperor of Rome, he only ruled a short period as part of the beast of Revelation.

Paul says in 1 Cor 6:3 that we shall judge angels. The words shall judge is translated from the greek krinoumen and reverse to the process of passing a verdict. It is derived from an archaic greek root meaning "to separate between the valuable and the worthless. Clearly, there is a future event in which we will sit with Jesus Christ and divide the angels into the faithful and the worthless.
When does this trial of the angels take place and is it described later in the Bible (hint: it is)

I'm just really glad that this great teacher holds this view and not the Pre-Trib Dispensational view! He didn't say, so I wonder if this view of Preterism (Partial) doesn't belive in a second return of Christ

Bruce is a bit of an academic big beast
When it comes to Dispensationalism and especially those who think there is going to be a "rapture" (a concept completely foreign to the Biblical authors), I call all of that "Cartoon Christianity". It's like cringey made-for-tv sci-fi movie or a kid's cartoon version of Christianity, and it's extremely frustrating to endure. Particularly because those who believe it are frequently the loudest in any group and all it takes is to get two of them together and then they absolutely dominate the entire discussion and make it all about their fantasies.
I heard someone say that one of Nero's name was Damitian, however you spell it and that there was more than just one who had that name. That could be why some date it around 95ad. thinking it was a different Damitian other than Nero.
Domitian ruled decades later than Nero (there were 5 emperors who ruled between them).
@@christincommon5496 You're talking about a different Domitian. I've heard about the one you're talking about. But one of Nero's names was Domitian which could be where some of the confusion comes from if the one I heard from is correct.

Hey brother great interview. Love Bruce Gore. I believe in this interpretation of Revelation. The one question I have is does this view require that we are actually in The New Heavens and New Earth? If not, why not?
New Heavens and new earth happens in the 1000 years reign of Christ. This is the 7th day of rest.

If I say something like "man I called you ten times already and you havn't answered!" there is a difference from "I will run Ten miles with you tomorrow". ...We need to always understand context. Within the Context of the 1,000 years is also the description of the 'beheaded' Saints reigning...So, is this figurative as well and the Lord did not raise them up for a time to reign? I did enjoy the interview, but there are many things that need to be addressed. One example is "Could it be we are in the "Little Season" of deception, when Satan has been loosed again to deceive the Nations in the four quarters of the earth? It does not seem like Satan is having any trouble blinding the minds of people or entire Nations for that matter, at this point in History! How does he explain the horrific wars based in Atheistic Philosophy that almost destroyed Europe etc...We have the constant daily battle with the fallen ones and wickedness in High Places...principalities,powers...dominions..and our own flesh...etc. Look at what is going on world wide! We are not in just another time...they are using very evil things (tech.) all around us to damage our bodies, including the constant weather modification etc....Do you understand that Evolution and the Globe Model are a Lie, that they do not align with what Jesus designed. We very well have had history manipulated and revised all around us, we cannot depend on men or for that matter what every Historian says. Do we have to be Biblical Scholars with endless degrees to Understand God's Word? Did God Preserve His Word as he said he would in Psalm 12? What about the FACT that all the ancient prophecies only describe forms of ancient warfare...horses, bows, arrows, shields, swords...etc...This makes me think we are WAY after the Tribulation described in Revelation and the War of Armageddon...even the 1,000 years! We most likely are that generation living in the 'Time of Deception'....the great, great, great...grandchildren of those who did not 'Believe' during the Millennium. Because there IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the Bible that describes our form of civilization today...so I'm thinking it can only fit in the "Little Season". I wish with all may heart that All denominations, Thinkers and Believers would come together and address these things...But, everyone always thinks they have the answer...so they stop searching. There are the little people...not scholars...discovering Melted Structures All over the earth (Meltology)...people who are thinking and wondering...while the leaders are saying the same things over and over...and REFUSE to answer simple questions! I study my Bible and this is the best conclusion I can come to, the idea that we are actually living in a time with Christ reigning with a 'rod of iron' just doesn't make sense...Heavenly Jerusalem is removed, now we wait for its return...(I think!)

A postmil person does NOT believe the chucks replaced Israel, the church includes the true believing Israel. Paul talk about the olive tree being Israel. As regards to OT prophecy, Christ is the fulfillment of it, according to him and his apostles. Old covenant National Israel was the type and shadow of the true believing Israel, that was then opened to the gentiles.
My Dispensationalist Bible college taught me the the most important plan in all the Bible and history was God's plan for Israel. But I later realized that they were teaching true Replacement Theology, replacing Christ with Israel.

Christ returns at the end of Revelation chapter 6, with signs in the sun, moon, and stars, as are found in the Olivet Discourse.
Those at the end of the chapter are hiding from the wrath of the Lamb.
Why would they be hiding if Christ is not present?
The "kings", "captains", "might men", "free", and "bond" are also found in chapter 19 at the return of Christ.
He returns at the 7th trumpet, which is the last trumpet in the Bible, and the time of the judgment of the dead in Revelation 11:15-18.
The beginning of chapter 12 is a history lesson containing the fall of Satan, and the birth and death of Christ, who is the seed promised to crush the head of Satan in Genesis 3:15.
The Second Coming is found in the "harvest" of chapter 14, which is related to the parable of the wheat and tares in Matthew chapter 13.
He comes as a thief at Armageddon, and we find the greatest earthquake in history in chapter 16. This occurs when the 7th angel pours out his vial. How powerful is an earthquake which moves islands and destroys the mountains? What is happening to the planet?

Why does an angel come down from heaven with a key to unlock the bottomless pit in Revelation 9:1-2, if the pit was not already locked?

Because the two witnesses were bodily resurrected from the dead in Revelation 11, the "first resurrection" at the beginning of Revelation 20 is not the first bodily resurrection in the book.
The principle of "Recapitulation" means there are multiple visions of His return.
Revelation is indeed in chrono order. First, let's look at chapter 6. The first 6 seals are in chrono order. They are listed in numerical order, not 4, 1, 6, 2, 3, 5! Next, there is a break between seal 6 and seal 7 in chapter 7. And beleive it or not, THAT is where Jesus ends his discussion of end times in his Olivet Discourse. So, he doesn't mention anything at all about the 7th Seal, thereby, we can conclude that Jesus is discussing the rapture, NOT his touching down on the earth. Zecharia 14 discusses that part. Again, in his Olivet Discourse, Jesus ends the conversation with Revelation chapter 7 (not the end of the 6th Seal, but with what comes after the 6th seal). Lastly, the 7th Seal is indeed in chrono order. The 7th Seal spans chapters 8-16. What's left of Revelation after that is DISCUSSION of what things mean, of what John saw, etc., etc. So there is NOT multiple second comings. And if you didn't notice, in Zecharia 14, WE COME BACK WITH JESUS. This is in Revelation, too:

But here is a way to find out if Revelation is in chrono order: There are three, count 'em, three WOE'S (KJV WORDING). The "Woe's" don't begin until you get to the 7th Seal.

The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

Chapter 14 is the RAPTURE of the 144000 PLUS NEW CONVERTS.

Seems that many are confusing the rapture of chapter 7 with the 2nd LANDING (coming) of Zech 14, when we all come BACK with Jesus as mentioned in Revelation 19.
In chapter 16, IT'S OVER and done with, which is why the remaining portion of Revelation is just EXPLAINING.

@@lavieenrose5954 It is a good one, and I'll tell you why. The 144000 are 12000 from twelve tribes. How many tribes were in Israel during the days of Jesus, Paul, Peter, and John? NOT MANY.
Paul visited synagogues in different countries to preach to the Jews. After the Babalonia/Assyrian exile, NOT MANY JEWS CAME BACK to Israel. Most stayed behind, while others moved to far away places such as Ephesis, and Thessalonica, and Greece, etc.
So, we still have Ezekiel 36 that has to STILL play out, and BOTH of the NORTHERN Kingdom and the SOUTHERN Kingdom must still be rejoined back together again, with all twelve tribes. One of those kingdoms has 2 tribes, the other has 10.
Again, see Ezekiel 36 for their RETURN. That didn't happen in those olden days of 70 AD. And neither did the sealing of 144000.
The post-70 A.D. dating of the book of Revelation renders all preterist thought null and void. The earliest Christian historian who recorded the church's knowledge of the Domitianic dating of Revelation was Hegessippus in 150 A.D. (around the time when most of those who would have known John had likely already died), and this continued to be the unanimous view until about 4 centuries later with the Syriac Peshitta NT manuscript in which someone wrote that John was exiled under Nero. It is sometimes claimed that the Neronic dating is in the original, but this is impossible since the original lacked the book of Revelation. From what I've been able to gather, there is no source or reasoning given for this change in that 6th century manuscript. This is problematic at best, and lacks the authoritativeness that would be required to credibly make such a huge revision to what was commonly accepted and passed down from the end of the first century/beginning of the 2nd.
The same can be said for the Muratorian Fragment, which is the 7th century copy of the 2nd century original, with no way to prove the Neronic dating was in the original. There is no record of any of the early church fathers holding to the Neronic date of Revelation. A fascinating glimpse into the early church fathers and what they believed on a variety of topics is in 'A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs', over 700 pages compiled by David Bercot.
In addition to Hegessippus (110-180 A.D. and who, notably, wrote this decades prior to Irenaeus, and Irenaeus was a disciple of Polycarp who was himself a disciple of John), Tertullian (155-220 A.D.), Hyppolytus of Rome (170-235 A.D.), Eusebius (263-339 A.D.), Jerome (345-420 A.D.), Sulpicius Severus (363-425 A.D.), and a number of others both before and not long after the council at Nicaea all confirm that John was exiled to Patmos by Domitian where he received Revelation. The lack of any dissenting view naming Nero in place of Domitian until the 6th century should give early-date advocates pause. So at least most of the events of Revelation are still in our future (some view the messages to the churches as having already been strictly for them and completely fulfilled, while some view each church as symbolic for a different time period, and of course there could be room for double-fulfillment of most of those first 3 chapters). There was a celebration on Patmos in 1995 commemorating 1900 years (approximately, as in 95 or 96 A.D.) since the Revelation Jesus gave to John. Also, what other events in the 1st century A.D. are ever claimed as taking place 2 or 3 decades earlier (or later, for that matter)? With all of the accurate records kept during the Roman Empire era and surviving today, there is little room for such a vast difference being feasible.
It's commonly believed that Jesus died around 30 or 33 A.D., Paul and Peter were martyred in the 60's, Nero lived from 37-68 A.D., etc. No one says Jesus died in 3 A.D. or 60 A.D., or that Peter and Paul were martyred in the 30's A.D. or 90's A.D., or that Nero actually reigned around the time of Jesus' ministry as recorded in the Gospels. The majority of scholarship places John's writing of Revelation in the mid-90's, but somehow preterists think it's ok to switch this around by 3 decades compared to the overwhelming consensus of the past 2000 years? The great fire of Rome took place for nearly a week during 64 A.D., but no one places it in 62 A.D. let alone 34 A.D. A powerful earthquake in 60 A.D. devastated Laodicea. And yet no one ever says that earthquake took place in 30 A.D. 30 years prior. With the vast majority of evidence to the contrary, preterism literally rests on this single pillar of the dating of the book of Revelation. And, really, that is no pillar at all in light of the historicity of the late date.
Good stuff brother I’m aware of that. Are you willing to layout your argument in away that people other than me can understand live. I personally am aware of the historical attestation to many of these arguments. But most of the pretreat argument comes from the Internal and external evidence of Book itself. All history is done in context. From a historical theology standpoint I see you 100%. But from the Scriptural text itself, in the Greek, a very plausible argument can be made. If you are willing to present your argument in a syllagistic fashion, it would be really helpful to people in the comments.
@@BrotherAaronSpeaks hi brother, thank you for the offer but I'm not one to go making videos with myself on RUclips. It's just not my thing. But a lot of what I've posted about has been done through pouring over arguments both for the early date and for the late date. I always examine all sides to arguments and put them to the test until I'm confident that I've arrived at the correct conclusions. I've read articles, listened to debates on RUclips, watched YT videos with those on both sides of the argument and have come to what I believe to be an airtight argument against which I've seen no preterist able to articulate a substantial response. Another angle that works is coming against the preterist idea that the Old Covenant was not fully abolished until 70 A.D., even though Christ paid it all on the cross and there was no room for the Old Covenant to exist concurrently with the New Covenant in any capacity (that's a whole nother post though).
I do wish that more would pay attention to the fact that an overwhelming majority of historians and scholars throughout history have favored the late date, and that this comparatively new traction for the early date (albeit still in the minority) is just another ploy of the enemy to lull the church to sleep with preterism so that they will not be watching for Christ's return.
If some historian today made a claim that Queen Elizabeth the first had a child while reigning over England (assuming this view has never been presented), even though history records that she died childless in 1603, how seriously would this be taken? Not at all. That is the length of time we're talking about here; from the time John died in Emperor Trajan's reign until the first claim in the 500's A.D. about him being exiled under Nero even though Nero was known to set Christians on fire instead of exiling them. Domitian was known for exiling.
There's a great debate between Mark Hitchcock and Hank Haanagraaf about the dating of Revelation that I would encourage people to check out on RUclips. I've watched most of it and plan on finishing it soon. Also Dr. Michael Brown has done some solid debates on the subject.

I encourage people to read Revelations 20 as the honorable @Bruce Gore presents his view. It doesn't register. The expansive view of the word "thousand" does not apply here. It is a discrete number, because in the 1001th year, Satan makes his view, this collapsing Gore's example that the "thousand" is just a general view for a big unfathomable amount.

What if I told u that the Euphrates had already been “dried up” centuries before? Cyrus diverted the Euphrates that flowed through Babylon causing it to dry up and marched into Babylon. What John is saying is that Jerusalem is Babylon and like Babylon of old it too will be destroyed..also armies today do not need dried up river beds to make way for an army..they would use planes and drop them in..the Chinese does not need to send 200 million men..they could just send a few missiles..this is a vision of the destruction of the new Babylon (I.e. Jerusalem)..1st century readers would hav known this history..this is symbolic language..

No prophecies about what is coming in the world because everyone thinks when it says "earth", it somehow means the earth we are standing on. Earth, water, air and fire are elements or archetypes of manifestation. Earth is the densest physical nature otherwise known as the cosmos. Every reference to earth means the cosmos. Every reference to the plagues and wraths of God is simply the expansion of the cosmos from the original t = 0 state of the expanded holy spirit. It occurs over and over again everytime someone ascends because the light produced by ascension is the union of spirit and energy and as such will always produce the universe as its physical creator.
The best insight for the riddles is to remember the game of riddles played in Golloms cave: 30 white horses standing on a hill....etc. that represent teeth, not horses. The horses of revelations represent divine understanding and insight. They are black, white and red, not in that order, the very colors of the creator! Followed by the pale horse, the 4th aspect of metaphysics.
42 = 3.5 x 12. (Metaphysics x the cosmos).
42 months = 42 moons or Thoth. The God of ascension in ancient Egypt.
The great tribulation is life that is supposed to be to pursue the great work and complete creation in ascension. Becoming an angel.

The only prophecy in revelations is that creation follows ascension everytime and the book then repeats this over and over again using a variety of metaphors and allegories. BTW, the 1,000 years is also a reference to ascension because you fly up and out of the crown of your head which has 1,000 petals to its "chakra" and complete metaphysics which also associates with 1,000 as the thrice great nature of spirit (3 x 0) and the son of God as the 4th (1). It's all code for the reality of ascension.

It's a LITERAL 1000 years. Even Messianic Jews know this. Just because the word "thousand" is used metaphorically Elsewhere in Scripture, does NOT make it a metaphor Everywhere in Scripture. Common sense! The Biblical concept of a thousand years for a day points to a 1000 year rest after a 6000 year work week. There's a tendency to over-spiritualize the specifics and to take Hebraic hyperbole as Literal. It's not just TEXTUAL context, but CULTURAL context that is required. A generation is 40 years. That's the number we should go by because it was EXACTLY 40 years from Jesus' prophecy (THIS generation) up to 70 AD. I don't think this guy is detailed enough -- too conversational and not scholarly enough for my taste. Why do we need to dismiss the dispensations that are clearly in the TEXT?? Darby, Scofield, Ryrie may have made erroneous conclusions with that concept BUT, it IS in the Bible! What Jesus said about the ending of an age and the start of a new age IS "Dispensations" -- that's what the word means! We are NOW in the "Church Dispensation" or "Grace Dispensation." The abomination that causes desolation is the position of the High Priest (the Last one) is whom caused the destruction of the temple. This man Phinnias ben Samuel (son of Samuel) of whom had no Levite bloodline, only the sons of Aaron were allowed to hold that position, He was the anti-christ, the people cast lots for him (took money for him to be in that office), the other priests had to teach him what to do. While he was offering a sacrifice to God all mighty, he was struck dead. No son of Samuel was allowed to be in that office, he was considered illegally a High Priest. From 67ad to 70ad.
If one goes backward in time from the 70ad mark, take 3 years off for the Great Tribulation , that it is 66ad, now take off 40 years to allow for repentances' which God tried to turn them back to him and they refused.
