Others might still be alive but off in the wide galaxy doing whatever with their talents. In any case, given that Wreav is considered a blunt tool by Krogan standards (and it shows when he doesn't figure out the genophage cure sabotage in ME3 if you do that, whereas Wrex eventually does), so maybe he was affected by eezo, but just not to a beneficial degree like Wrex.
Funny enough this isn't grunt being Confident, when you meet him with wreav (Heresy i know) He is far more forward, even gets off 7 warlord names before being cut off. When he says "i am krogan, you should be in awe." He punctuates it with a tone of 'I will slap your shit if you cross me' where as with Wrex, he is more like 'please be impressed, You are powerful and i wish your approval'

The interaction with Gatatog Uvenk in front of the Shaman is actually one of my favorite little bits of ME2. There's quite a few branching paths for how to deal with him, and that's always great in any RPG.
Even as a mostly Paragon Shepard, once you get to Grunt's Loyalty mission after this dialogue, it's so worth killing the Thresher Maw (which gets quite a bit of Renegade Points). Might as well prove to Grunt, Wrex and the other Krogan that Shepard is the badass to approach anything no matter his/her personality.

The headbutting should've been a paragon interrupt. The renegade interrupt should've been knocking Uvenk down with a shotgun (like with Wrex on Virmire).
