- 'Think It...Do it' - a short-lived BBC Children's show billed as an 'exploration of occupations' devised and hosted by Johnny Ball focuses on Filmmaking with a visit to the set of Superman IV at Cannon's Elstree Studios in 1986.
Ball tours the exterior Metropolis Street set, checks in with Storyboard Artist Martin Asbury and finishes with a glimpse into the actual filming. The footage shown is notable as its from a sequence where Superman battles Nuclearman 1, cut in its entirety from the eventual release...
Chris Seemed like a great guy.. Playful, and friendly with the cast, and crew on set..
RIP Chris..
He sure was. I've met & shook hands w/ him several times. Still I have his autograph.
Superman is awesome 🇺🇸
This film had so much potential....
Not with that Budget
@@guyverjay1289 ..plus the story and most of all the special effects!
no. it never did. a b movie company never had hope to make a fully fulfilled film when all they did was choose cheap actors, cheap director, cheap effects, cheap story, cheap script.
The best superman ever
Johnny Ball, brilliant! As a kid I was always more interested in behind the scenes specials than the actual film.
Johnny Ball and superman. My childhood on 5mins
One of my favourite clips!! I love this Johnny Ball segment!!!! Look at that back street from Superman IV he walks out of the door into!!!
3:26 Remembering the childhood nightmare from Krypton... amazingly we ACTUALLY got to see this on the deleted scenes segment years later!!!
1:14 is the set dressing where the 3 Police cars crash into and get blown up when set backwards by Nuclear man during his rage . 1:32 is the device used to help make the SWAT van spin .
Fantastic! Great to see this behind-the-scenes film of the making of "Superman IV!" Thanks for posting, SUPERMANIA'78!
All that work for a scene that ended up being deleted...
This recording scene is much better than the film itself. !!!
I remember watching this at the time! And then the whole Bizarro car-crush scene was left out!
The deleted scenes are the best scene
I like this guy.
It was great
very cool.
Watching this reminded me I saw Chris Reeve on tv am's wide awake club promoting superman 4. Do you remember or have a link Martin? I found this online so I know I didn't imagine it. "Does anyone have the Chris Reeve footage of him on the Wide Awake Club in 1986/7, presented by Tommy Boyd on ITV in the UK?
(the precursor to Timmy Mallet's Wacaday!)
I remember he sits in the chair and answers questions about Superman, and if he gets an answer wrong, he gets a pie in the face! He actually corrected the presenter himself on the spelling of Lex Luthor as they thought it was spelt Luther! So he ended up getting every answer right but they gave him a pie in the face anyway. I think perhaps his son Matthew was also on the show and the one who put the pie in his face! He also talked about making Superman IV and I think they showed some footage from it.
I remember it well, but wonder if the footage can be found!!!"
So many deleted scenes.....Damn you WB and Cannon (Cannon has already been damned 🤪)!
It was a great movie
Well, grutty is now my new favorite word
Grotty and Cannon Films go together quite well.
great stuff
I wonder if they ever filmed any of that nightmare sequence for the original 139 minute cut. Hmmmm..... Hopefully one day.
the original cut would be so awful and plant the film into the oblivion of bad films. at least the theatrical was funny bad but the extra stuff is so inexplicably bad.
LOOK IT UP!!!! THEY FILMED IT AND ITS RELEASED!!!!!!!!!
2:27 Metro Club sign in the daytime!!! Damn.... I think I’ve told you this before, but I have the clip from Saturday Morning Superstore where he discusses that & tells Mike Reid “John Travolta won’t have anything to worry about!!”😂😂😂😂
And then they cut it out of the film
Back in the day before blue screen and cgi everywhere.
None of this shot made it into the actual movie. It would have been a great sequence even Nuclearman was different, more like a punk rocker bad guy.
More like "Unclear Man."
its on the online now.. Look it up its actually amazing! its just a weird ip of Nuclear Man and wierder acting.
How Superman get hurt being hit by a car?
Watch Superman REDEEMED fan edit by ADIGITALMAN. Id post a link but it always gets censored.
Its available online now. Grab it while u can. Itll take 5 minutes
Vienna hot dogs are a Chicago staple.
Pick up some Ditka Dogs if you get a chance. If you're in Chicago, you can buy them right at the factory.
@@williamshaw9047 Moved from Chicago to L.A. in 94.
mmmmmmmmm vienna hotdogs,,,,,,,,, HMMMMMMMMMM! ;P)D I LOVE GOTTA LOVE CHICAGO!!!!!!!!! MY FAMILY IS AND I LIVED THERE!!!!!!!!
The spent all that money filming that scene and they cut it from the movie!
4:28 Sucks they spent hours filming this just for it to end up on the cutting room floor during editing. In fact, so much substance was cut from the film that what was released in theaters turned out to be a confusing mess. The reason behind the cuts was to reduce the film's runtime so it could be shown more times per screen. Superman IV saw its budget slashed drastically which is why the special effects are awful. This film killed the Christopher Reeve Superman franchise. It was a disappointing end to what began with the 1978 masterpiece Superman the Movie.
Superman amo 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💋💋💖💖💖💖💖😍😍😍😍 sexy boooo
