Just watching you interact and have fun is a therapeutic expereience! My brother (42) has some neck and back problems and I'm trying to figure out a way to help him out. This video was very helpful in showing the available machines for home use. I think we're going to review it together and do some testing. Thank you very much!
Bob and Brad … I think that you are the best physical therapist that I have come across with. You are honest, informative, professional, even entertaining. You are a credit to the community wherever you may be. I bought the harness, watch your some of your videos, applied it to my neck and low back pain and they work! I will start the harness tomorrow, I intend to work at my spinal health. A question about the harness: does it decompress the cervical and THE REST OF THE SPINE or just/mostly the neck? (I have some sacroiliac pain that comes and goes on time.
I am so glad I found this video! Thank you very much! I have both these devices and haven’t been using them because I didn’t think I was using them right. From this video and another one, I now know that I didn’t have the harness correctly adjusted on the doorway device. From this video, I have learned that it’s OK to experiment with flexion to get the best relief. I am going to start again with the doorway device and see how I do. Then I might try the Saunders again. BTW…I got a used Saunders off eBay for about half what the new ones cost. Thanks again!
My doctor had one word for the over the door traction....NO, NO, NO. I was prescribed a Saunders Neck Traction unit. I was having trouble getting the prescription filled. I then went on eBay and found a gently used one for $150. I am having a bad flare up right now. I own your Thermotex Platinum. I just bought a second one for my neck. (Arrived today.) This flare up is giving me nerve pain in my right arm. I did try to use the Platinum pad over the area. It was just not enough. So I now have 2 Thermotex pads. I can't express how much the first unit helped. Thank you for everything you do. Love the podcasts. I seem to know the names of the people you have interviewed, but my PT facility has young staffers who do not know any of the names I mentioned. The oldest therapist is familiar with some of them.
Hi, thanks a lot for he video! Love you both. Just wondering, doesn't the saunders device put the head into flexion, which is just like the tech-neck position? Doesn't it reduce lordosis? Thanks again!
I have a Saunders unit that was prescribed to me years ago, and used to use it quite a bit. Since then, I had an artificial cervical disc implanted. I still get occasional arm pain (the space for the nerve is still a little tight). Do you guys think it's safe to use my Saunders unit with an artificial disc? I've been reticent to so since my surgery about a year and half ago. Thanks.
hello Bob & Brad, I've been following you for quite some time now. and have a question hopefully you can reply... I have a moderate pain in my left trap next to my shoulder (where the smith machine bar rests) and after doing 20 reps with light weight with it, I started to suffer a pulsating headache on the back left side of my head. the pain went away but after 2 days if I jog or do some.exercise that pumps my heart, the pain comes back. any ideas of whats going on? maybe an injury on my trap is causing the headache? should I see a therapist or what's your recommendation. thanks so much in advance.
This does work, but for me I have osteoarthritis in c4 c5 c6 c7 and a disc bulge and have been dealing with it for 10 years and gradually getting worse, and I have went to physical therapy and had 20 sections of tractions performed over the course of many weeks by professional therapists and it did help alot for a year then things got bad again, then I went to a pain management specialist and have had several epidural injections over the course of 3 years and also had a branch block, and all these did help a tremendous amount but for only a short time, but all my therapists agree that I see a orthopedic spin specialist and get a diagnosis from them, but I broke my neck in 1994 and arthritis started at that point and has just progressed over the years to the point that I can't function, so I'm scheduled to see the orthopedic spin specialist in a couple weeks and get there diagnosis, I kinda have an idea on what the diagnosis will be, but if the arthritis hasnt progressed to bad then i may be able to do a ultrascopic clean out, that's what I'm hoping for but I'm thinking it's to advanced for that, but I have to do something the pain is debilitating at times and sometimes unbearable, my arms are very weak and the nerve and muscle spasms are intense daily, these traction devices are very good to do if a person doesn't wait to long, but most of us do, I have broken alot of bones over the years and ya they hurt and have arthritis, but they are nothing compared to a broken neck that healed and is full of osteoarthritis, cause the pain is an ongoing Intense nightmare, so for those of you that have even just the slightest of neck pain I encourage people to go get checked out and get a recommendation and it may be as simple as a traction treatment, but whatever anyone decides to do don't wait to long it gets bad, I know this cause I put it off to long and now I have deal with it, and its brutal
Can someone inform me about PT in relation to medical advice? Obviously, a bit of apple and orange, but these guys do have advice for us, and i want to know - on what grounds do i take their advice or not? I will do some of my own dilligence, but if anyone knows, ill happily take.
I am only 20 and I have a sac popping sensation when fully extending my elbow in both arms. It only happens after a while throughout the day like it is building up pressure. Do you guys have a video on elbow problems or can address it in a future video?
It's amazing to me so many of the non-surgical treatment options available out there. It's too bad people are sometimes pushed into surgery when in reality a majority of these problems could most likely be drastically improved by physical therapy without having to go under the knife in the first place.
I have a pinched nerve in my 6th vertebrae and I have that exact device... my orthopedic surgeon told me to put 8 pounds of water in the bag, and yes it worked, I felt like I had a knife sticking in my arm
I know I'm late to this video...I've given up TV and am power watching your videos in my home gym. I wish you guys had an office overseas where I am living! What do you guys think of those pneumatic cervical traction devices that you pump up? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IW61F34/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you use the contraption that looks like you are hanging yourself you better have strong jaw muscles and strong teeth. Not advised for people who have dentures. The one where you are lying down and can measure the amount of traction works and does not hurt.
@@JJbro-rt5zu herniated disk in the neck , part of my right arm was still numb . could not do anything for six months ,chiroprators were worthless. physical therpay only helped a little bit> I thought I was never going to be able to lift weights again . Their intro song SLAPS 🙌🏼

Thank you very much this info.Godbless!!!
Terrific - I have one of those door traction devices. You have inspired me to have a look for it. Great advice as always, thank you.
That's funny. I will need luck on my side to find it. It's in the garage.

Gud .include sitting static traction in cervicle flexion for opening foramen for cervicle radiculopathy with appropriate nerve in biased position.
Any other causes of lower right back pain that causes right leg weakness other than bulging or herniated disc?
I’ve always had to set mine up by myself. It’s no big deal
Hello Bob and Brad. I want to know if the Neck Traction system if helpful for headaches?
it work.
Thank you for showing how these work. Where can I get the over the door traction device?
Have you checked out any of the lying down door-attached "hammocks?" I'd love to hear from you about those.
Saw a vid where another PT said no, it has your head bent forward
With the sitting position, is it beneficial to rotate head side to side?
On the hand pump version, wouldn't it just make you slide? $300? It looks like the same quality as a thigh master
I have that first unit and I can do it myself.

Where I can buy that?
Put a hook in the wall to hang the bag with the loop you made on the rope.
"worst that can happen is nothing"
Brad
ill put that on a tile and a shirt
What is the End Game here?
So if it releases pain/numbness - is something being fixed? Repaired? Strengthened?
More like pulled open.
It creates space that allows the inflammation to reduce thus allowing it to heal
Maybe separate cervical joints to allow disk return.
In the supine position, is it not better to be in a neutral position?
If you fall while sitting, does this hang you?
Does the over the door traction unit put pressure on the TMJ joint?
I have one and it puts a lot of pressure on the jaw and teeth.
Hi
How would I make something similar to the first exercise for home use?
It's a pretty simple machine. Tbh, if you can't figure it out just by looking at it, don't waste your time or money and just buy one
Where can I get the door traction unit? This was a GREAT video, Thanks!!
Thanks... Love you guys!!!

Amazon

We are professional for this. Do you still need?
How much weight is usually given ? In door pulleys
Usually, a water bag that fills up. About 5 to 10 lbs is what I have used. Brad
I can die a happy man after the song intro ( jus sayin)
I came only for the song and the intro.
Needed to say how to put it on
I'd love to get one of those traction units, but I think only therapists have them.
Yvonne Turner you can get one on amazon
I have bought one.
We are manufacturer supply. Do you still need it, friend?

Does Bob have legitimate neck and arm issues in this video? Or is this a simulation for teaching purposes and he's pretending?
Brad's voice sounds a lot like Norm MacDonald's voice.
The 2 guys are starting to fall apart so make good patients.
Id love to put 200 lbs on there
Throw in 100 pounds Haha jk
