I used to work for a prestige car dealer which sold new Audi, Porsche and Ferrari vehicles. Occasionally we'd have used Astons, Bentley, Merc, McLaren and Lamborghini for sale also. The staff got used to seeing some pretty cool stuff. Then one day a customer drove an 8C into the middle of the carpark and revved the engine. I shit you not, 4 buildings emptied of staff in a few seconds and crowded the car.

It's not fast. It's very fast for non track purposes with magnifent styling, uniqueness and build quality that will leave its owner smiling every time he or she looks at it or drives it.
I think alfa romeo could have made this today and the styling wouldn't be in the slightest bit dated, it looks like it could rival the f type coupe for looks, not to mention the roadster versions of both cars.

Got this funny feeling after all this years, that Mr Clarkson, Mr May, and Mr Hammond are just irreplaceable, The humor, the narration... They were just ... Naturals at that.
After seeing and hearing one of these in person, the noise this car makes is worth twice the price. It is the remarkable, hair-raising sound I've ever heard come out of a road car.
I saw one a week ago and i agree...i've seen many gorgeous automotive creations, many that are faster and obviously better handling...but this thing is simply breathtaking from every angle. Its a strangely simple look with curves and lines that make you instantly want to choose it over the normality of a ferrari or lambo. Not meant as a supercar...its just a truly beautiful creation and i want one.
I totally understand this. When I was in college, I was driving to work one afternoon and saw, parked in front of a gas station with a "for sale" sign on its windshield, a car so beautiful I had to stop. It had no engine, and they were asking something like $7,000 for it, and this was in the 60s. It was an outrageous price, but it was so gorgeous, I wanted to buy it, if only to put it in the living room. The next day, the car was gone. The guy at the gas station told me some guy had bought it with the idea of putting a 327 Chevy engine in it. Turned out to be a BMW 507.
If you had bought that car back then you would have been milionair.... very easy in hindsight, so don't blame yourself. I hope for the guy who bought he didn't put that crap engine in it, would have greatly reduced the value of the car. Oh well, I'm sure some cars I can buy, or nearly buy if I beg people for money, turn out to be worth milions in the future.

Antrax 1. That was an unsubstantiated rumour when it comes to an engine. 2. Even if it is true, why would Ferrari help a rival, even if they were slower? That would make no sense. 3. Your nationality does not automatically give you more validity. A case could also be made for bias.
Many years ago I was working at the Goodwood festival of speed. Obviously, I took the opportunity to mooch about and look at all the beautiful machines. What stopped me in my tracks was an black 8C parked in the restricted carpark. I hadn't even heard of it. It was the most aweinspring and beautiful car I had, and have, ever seen. Maybe the Disco Volante could pip it. But I'm not sure.
I'd kill to get my hand on one of those master pieces and yes cars can be art they fall under the same catergory as ceremonial weapons/highly decorated working weapons and other forms of functional art it's not always practical but who cares when it looks that damn good
A great many cars are art. Old Jaguars, AC Cobra, Audi TT, Porsche 911, many Italian models and other British beauties, etc. Very few autos from Asia, though.

I come back every now and again to listen to it on the over run.
They tried to make the car look bad. Anyone who has actually been behind the wheel of an 8C knows that it drives just as good as it looks. It is a very special car to me.
Bentley Mulsanne I don't think it does. It feel very twitchy compared to others. But it's beauty more than makes up for it.
Don't think they were trying to make it look bad Alfa is like the only company they like
Bentley Mulsanne it is a special car but its still a slow car compare to others in the price range and product range.
Antrax 1. That was an unsubstantiated rumour when it comes to an engine. 2. Even if it is true, why would Ferrari help a rival, even if they were slower? That would make no sense. 3. Your nationality does not automatically give you more validity. A case could also be made for bias.
Antrax I know. But on the other hand every car maker has the ability to do it..its just some factories handles the quality and cost better.
lol "porn film for plot" classic .
I'd kill to get my hand on one of those master pieces and yes cars can be art they fall under the same catergory as ceremonial weapons/highly decorated working weapons and other forms of functional art it's not always practical but who cares when it looks that damn good
Jeremy is a car enthusiast poet. What Murray Walker was for F1, Jeremy is for car test drivers.

A great many cars are art. Old Jaguars, AC Cobra, Audi TT, Porsche 911, many Italian models and other British beauties, etc. Very few autos from Asia, though.
Japan had *several*
