    • @thenonexistinghero
      @thenonexistinghero 5 месяцев назад

      @@Scrotal_Kahn Honestly I dunno how people can say it's less clunky. Earlier today with Chris:
      > Want to aim at enemy, ground shakes and can't shoot. Enemy shoots me.
      > Want to aim at the same enemy, camera shakes and shots miss. Then camera shakes again and another shot misses.
      > Now 3rd attempt wanting to aim at same enemy, a f***ing car is thrown from the back.
      > I run around the car to kill the enemy, and it's dead.
      > I run away and dodge the big enemy. Then get hit from a random sniper from a roof with no lasersight in sight and big enemy stomps on me, instantly killing me.
      Easily the 2nd worst aiming system of any RE game. The aiming system's bad, but then there's all the crap around it that make it almost unplayable. The worst is still the aiming in Darkside Chronicles though. It was perfect in Umbrella Chronicles, but for some reason in Darkside they decided to make the camera extremely shaky to make it almost impossible to actually properly aim. Honestly if they fixed that the game would be the best rail shooter ever made, but instead it's just very frustrating solely because of the trash aiming system (especially because the game wasn't designed around it. There's no shortage of moments where precision is required, but simply isn't possible because of the awful camera movement).

This game was a literal love letter to all previous Resident Evil titles before it, each chapter had a fitting type of atmosphere for each character's story. Leon and Helena had the traditional horror vibe, and traditional zombies RE is famous for, Chris and Piers had a more action packed, third person military game atmosphere, which fits because he is fight global bioterrorism, same with Jake and Sherry's campaign, only with the added bonus of playing as Wesker 2.0, and Ada Wongs campaign fits her as well, stealthy with the additional nod towards some of the classic puzzles from old RE. I have a love/hate relationship with this game, about 10/90.
    This is the most hollywood a RE game has ever been. 4 started the shift to being more action focused and 6 was just the inevitable conclusion. Explosions everywhere, motorcycles jumping over helicopters, fist fighting a giant monster over lava, fighter jets, they ripped off that scene from Armageddon in the Chris campaign. It feels like an 80s action movie.
    QTEs for days. QTEs everywhere. I hate them. I don't think they add anything to games other than pain in you hands. Rather than just watching a cut scene I am more focused on pressing buttons at the right time or I am going to have to do it all over again. RE6 even manages to screw that up too because often, you can do a QTE perfectly and the game will randomly fail you for no reason. But this is such a 2000s trend and this game was all over it.
    Speaking of QTEs there is an option in the settings that allow you to "auto-complete" QTEs. Problem is, this does not apply to all QTE segments and you have no idea which ones. Because the game does not explain this to you.
    Then there is how this game is obsessed with Ada. The events of this whole game boil down to one guy who was creepily fixated on Ada Wong. Simmons got Carla to undergo a procedure to look like Ada, she snapped and now wants to infect the world to get back at Simmons. Simmons is even growing clones of Ada.
    So Jake doesn't like his dad, who is Wesker by the way, but he also is ready to kill Chris for killing his dad? Earlier Jake was going on about how evil Wesker was, shouldn't he be more understanding that Chris just did what needed to be done?
    So Helena, for the early game continues to insist that they need to get to the cathedral. There is something Leon NEEDS to see or he just wouldn't believe her. Leon is the guy that survived Raccoon City, I think if there is anyone who is willing to believe it is him. It would have just been so much easier if she had just told Leon what was up from the beginning. But this point was just dragged out for the sake of suspense and drama. There was no reason to drag it out as long as they did.
    The hud is absolutely unfinished. It looks terrible. You can't tell the different bars apart. Health, Stamina, they all look the same. The inventory is shit.
    So for the sake of praising something about this game, the combat does feel good. Out of all the pre-new games the combat feels the best in this one. You can melee enemies to death and it is quite satisfying.
    Matt Mercer as Leon rocked it. I really like his performance in the movies. Laura Bailey gives Helena automatic points for likability. And this all I can think of.

    I used to play this game quite often on my PlayStation 3, and it was one of the first co-op games that I got one of my closest online friends to play with me. We ended up completing the game and doing almost every bit of side content for a good 200 hours.
    And I have to say that has got to have been one of the only times I played a game Co-op that I never regret. It's one of those gaming moments that sticks with you, and playing with him was a blast as we both went into the game thinking it was going to be trash but ended up liking it so much we bothered to pretty much 100% together.
    Unfortunately as time went on we separated as internet drama ended up dividing us and the gaming group we played with.
    But every time I see Resident Evil 6, I'm always reminded of the time that one of my first gaming Buddies completed a game with me.
    That aside, while I think the Resident Evil 4 remake has become one of my favorites, I still think this is one of the more fun games to play With Friends.
    Okay I wanted to add one last thing to this little mini opinion on Resident Evil 6, I just played it again and before I knew it I completed Leon's campaign in about 6 hours and 30 minutes straight. I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I used to, but hands down the gameplay holds up tremendously . The movement and overall Gunplay feel fantastic while the skill system add quite a bit of replay value. On top of that beating a campaign in like 6 hours with four of them in total means that you could sit down and probably play an entire campaign in one sitting. And normally I certain games deserve remakes but Resident Evil 6 doesn't feel like a game that needs a remake😊🎉

    Sue me, but I had a blast playing this game and Dead Space 3: the Leon campaign is a solid horror run; the Chris campaign did a great job explaining how the naive guy from RE1 or RE:CV got to be the cynic agent from REVIII; and Sherry and Jake have one of the best chemistries in the whole series. Dead Space 3 hit the sweet B-horror/action spot I wanted from the series.

    I really liked it. I could see why some would have a problem with it, but the general globe-trotting, action-heavy demeanor and tone of the game was the right path at the time. In the old games, the characters were unprepared to be trapped in a mansion infested with zombies. Now, years later with BOWs on the world stage and governments actively pursuing countermeasures, how could every scenario these characters find themselves in be the same as what they were.
    I do, however, have three critiques for this video:
    1) Ada's campaign actually was NOT available from the start. You had to complete the other three to get hers. Your general point still stands, though.
    2) I HATE the RPG elements. We just have different tastes in games and that's fine. There's nothing wrong with you liking them. I just can't stand them. I think they are a mindless way to pad out the gameplay with useless crap. Even as someone who used to LOVE JRPGs, tediously wading through menu screens and comparing stats is just a waste of my precious time, as is looking around for "Skill Points".
    3) "Chris encounters this Ada-like antagonistic figure. Maybe it's Ada, maybe it's not. I'm not saying anything because I don't want to spoil it."
    Dude, that's a lot of words for saying that the woman Chris encounters is actually an Ada imposter. Just say he encounters Ada who acts as an antagonistic force and avoid spoilers that way, or just say that the person you encounter isn't Ada. It's like when someone tells you "Oh, you like this character? Well, I don't wanna spoil anything, but don't get too attached."

    • @Turo602
      @Turo602 Год назад +1

      @JellyJman Pulling the creator card doesn't do much considering the RE4 we got wasn't the game he originally wanted to make and only exposes how little you know regarding the circumstances that led to RE4.
      The action era of RE games was popular with a crowd that didn't like Resident Evil games or always wanted to get into the series but couldn't because of tank controls and the general difficulty of figuring out survival horror games.
      Resident Evil 4 and 5 did really well both critically and financially because they were well-made games that appealed to a casual crowd who just wants to shoot things, which is why newcomers would often criticize the stop and shoot gameplay that was a staple of Resident Evil.
      Those were the people Capcom was catering to with Resident Evil 6 while trying to hook old fans in with Leon's zombie filled campaign. While it has interesting mechanics for an action game, it's so unfocused and unpolished and can in no way be considered an excellent game the way Resident Evil 4 or 5 are, and it sure as fuck isn't a Resident Evil game. Otherwise, the series wouldn't have had to go through another reboot, bringing back survival horror.

    Resident evil 6 was my first resident evil game that I have played and no matter how much people thrash on it, say how much they hate it I could never bring myself to hate it. I know it isn’t a resident evil game (far from it) but it was the game that introduced me and made me play other games and I cannot help but to appreciate it. It introduced me to an amazing series with amazing characters that I’ve grown to love and appreciate over the years while playing other games and honestly nothing can beat my love for re6. Yes it’s all over the place with action and what not and yes it is nowhere near what a resident evil game should be but it grew on me so much. I replayed it so many times both solo or with my friends, played the mercenaries mode way too many times and played some online too. The side characters were so good and my favorite campaign was Sherry and Jakes campaign. The chemistry between Jake and Sherry is something I’ve never seen that good, beating any ship or couple in resident evil all together for me. The way it all goes from just a job, to them caring about each other, Jake getting protective over Sherry meanwhile Sherry goes from needing Jake for creating a vaccine to blaming herself for trusting Simmons and bringing Jake along in this mess over the course of 5 chapters is to me mind blowing on how they managed to create such a good story and good chemistry between these two characters that we unfortunately never see again and honestly I would love another game with Sherry and Jake as the main characters, teaming up once again just to see them together after the ending but I don’t think it will happen. My second favorite campaign is Chris and Peirs’ campaign. Not because of the action but because of their dynamic and their story. Overall I think that re6 introduced amazing side characters and was a great action game but nowhere near what a resident evil game should be.
