    Thank you for the help! Is there something that the tension springs are supposed to clip into inside the can? I don't see anything like that in my can lights, and the retrofit ones I bought just slide down and don't stay flush with the ceiling. I did buy a different model than what you have, but it looks like basically the same design. Do they just not have enough tension? I am not sure what to do. If they had some sort of rubber tip/stopper, I think they would have enough friction to stay put. I even thought about using pencil cap erasers on the tips! 😆 I just want to make sure I don't create a fire hazard, so looking for a more "professional" solution.

Can I remove the cans and the bulb socket from the cans and use the kind of retrofit lights with tabs (to grab the edge of the holes in the ceiling drywall) and connect the pigtail to the socket? Instructions with most retrofit lights always say to turn off the power at breaker box FIRST. I've seen several of these "how-to" videos with amateur DIY installers that never mention turning off the power. Why do you omit this step?. When it comes to showing a tutorial for electrical installation s, isn't safety a priority?

    • @Tech4Baba
      @Tech4Baba  3 года назад +14

      Good point, Melanie! It's always safer to do so. Since this particular LED retrofit is similar to changing a light bulb, many choose to skip that as long as the switch is confirmed off. Thanks for watching and sharing! Stay well.
