    Worth mentioning, if you want to display Framerate Avg/Min/Max you have to go into Settings>Benchmark and put in hotkeys to Begin/End recording. Beginning a recording will make the overlay start showing Framerate Avg/Min/Max and ending it will stop it. To remove the results of your Framerate Avg/Min/Max you'll have to hit the hotkey for ending the recording once more, so two times total.

    One issue I ran into with MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner was that in OBS when trying to live stream, it was blocking the Game Capture to pick up some games and would just have a black screen. If you run OBS and MSI Afterburner and Game Capture does not work for you, you need to turn off MSI Afterburner. I am not sure if there will be a fix for this in the near future or not and not sure if many even know of this problem. It was something I found while troubleshooting to get Warzone and a few other games to capture using Game Capture in OBS, it seemed that it was MSI Afterburner blocking OBS from Hooking to the games to allow them to be displayed through OBS. Have to make at least 10 mins to get the ads, ad the "plug" to follow them on all social media for a chance to win a gpu (that you clearly won't win, neither will i) and you end up with a 11 min video. And a crapload of followers, more money, more free parts from big companies.
      Always rich people helping each other, while making some lazy "donation" to us slaves.

      @@flameshana9 1. he does get free parts. 2. sure all his vids aren't 10/11 mins, but there's quite a few. And those are usually the "unnecessary" vids. Just had to make something to get some views and ads and people to join the giveaway. Which we all know, some guy that already has a nice setup, is probably rich, will win.
      3. I'm just pointing out the obvious ;)

    I made a modbros screen. A nice little 7 inch quality screen, Raspberry Pi4, and all relevant software installed etc. Does the job, for VRAM, RAM, GPU , CPU temps etc. But not FPS as yet. I’m working on it !. Jayz covered this topic in the past, go check it out. The beauty of using the “ modbros “ method is that the Raspberry Pi does all the work, it in itself is a computer that sits nicely in my 7 inch screen housing.

    AMD's graphics driver also has a built in performance monitor you can get to show up on screen. Not as detailed and customizable as Afterburner, but it's already built into the driver.

    Riva tunner I've been using for maybe 3 years, MSI afterburner for 1,5 year 😁. In Rivatunner I also set FPS limits per game so when streaming, GPU is not overused and stream not looking good anymore 😁

    You can also change the names of the on screen items.
    Where it says GPU you can put in RTX 3080 or whatever you have, same for your CPU.

    If you don’t want to do all this and are lucky enough to have found an Nvidia Gpu their overlay/Shadowplay software now has a metrics overlay too under HUD layout and Performance.
    Just select a corner for it to go and hit the hotkey to enable it, set it to Advanced Statistics or something to show lots of information and you’re Golden.
    If I don’t need to use the frame time limiter in Rivatuner/msi afterburner and a game is giving me hooking/overlay problems and being glitchy I just close the software and use the Nvidia overlay instead.

    Just a heads up for people that also want to record/stream, MSI afterburner and RTSS can interfer with game capturing since it hooks the game aswell, which will conflict with OBS's attempt to hook the game.

    • @bholtmeier
      @bholtmeier 3 года назад

      I add an injection delay to rtss so I waits to hook for x amount of time. That way obs can hook first and there are no conflicts. You might have to add some injection filters in the config file for it to work.

    I haven't been able to use the RTSS OSD in months because there is some sort of glitch that does not play well with my game. For weeks I was having freezing issues where only the game would stop responding. I ended up finding a thread on Reddit specifically related to RTSS and that game and people discovered that it was the overlay causing the issue. Sure enough, I turned the overlay off and the problem was gone. I still run my card overclocked with Afterburner on a second monitor, but I miss that OSD dearly. Last time I tried to use it was about a week ago with the most updated version of Afterburner, RTSS, NVIDIA drivers, and my game. It was still happening. I've all but given up on it and just use the CAM software one now.
