Dont forget to "Enable Benchmark Mode" if your FPS are not showing min max avg. Go to rivatuner click setup < general < scroll down halfway in compatibility properties.
Thanks man. This comment made me focus on the “Benchmark” aspect of the min max fps. I didn’t find it in setup/general for some reason (im prolly overlooking it) but under benchmark tab I selected new hotkeys for begin-recording/end-recording and that it go it to work me. Finally lol

pro tip: use compressor on your voice recording. You speak with a wide variety of volume. Raise the low levels so that we can hear what you are saying. thank you

Nice and to the point, thank you, one question though, what is the untick all option when selecting your graph options. I see you added all and removed all by using some sort of shortcut.
You can hold ctrl and select what you want or hold shift and select a range.

CPU TEMP, CLOCKS, etc bunch of others don't seem to be showing anymore. They used to show..
Me neither....and no one seems to know. It would be nice if MSI had an in depth tutorial on this software,, so that we didnt have to rely on guys like this, who dont respond when theres something abnormal.
I got it working but how can we set the names? I can view the get fps avg, 1%, 0.1% lows etc but they are shown as just numbers no text in front indicating what the numbers mean.

There are loads in there as long as you have the right drivers installed. A lot of the GPU isn't present if they are wrong.

How do I make it so that Framerate average only show the average over the last 10 seconds instead of since I launched the game?
It just straight up doesn't work. Is it a limitation of my Radeon Pro WX card?
No, I have a 4090 and this garbage simply does not overlay anything. I've spent an hour trying to get it to work.

Someone asked me if I had a saved config for the setup due to running it on so many systems for benchmarking. I actually don't and never thought about it because I have repeated the process so much now it's instinct lol Glad it helps though and thanks for watching.

I have a question: Some time ago, I don't know what settings I changed, and instead of displaying D3D12, it displays OGL. Any idea why that is?
If you leave the FPS counters names as default they are displayed as the API's that game uses I believe so DSD12 would be that that game is using the DirectX 12 API's. So maybe different games are showing different things or you changed the API that game is using in it's settings or something.
My app has a flashing thing on the side thats making me want to vomit. Idk how to get rid of it

@@TechLabUK Tried that, but it shows the average FPS, doesn't show 0.1% or 1% lows. setting a hot key doesn't seem to disable or enable the overlay either for some reason. it's always on and always displaying the same information.
@@NGreedia What hot keys are you setting. I have had issues with assigning some keys although Ctrl-Num1 (2,3,4,5 etc) seem to work ok as long as numlock is on.

Great video bro! Question why doesn’t MSI let me enable Benchmark? Not even to set a hotkey. I have Rivatuner installed.
It should work, not sure of the specs though. It's sometimes weird with unusual hardware.

@@Juniorgalle21 Could try re-installing it in case there is a newer version. Also worth testing another game as some of them are weird like CSGO requires additional configuration etc.

With all this setup what is the easiest way to record my gameplay with the OSD stats visible in the recording? Things like OBS don't work..
You can record gameplay directly within MSI afterburner if you want. Setup a hot key and save location in the Recording tab I believe.
I see an option to display to the logitech LCD keyboard screen. I was wondering if it was possible to display it to the ROG Azoth keyboard screen. I only selected the box and it did not work. Do you know what I would need to do to make it work by chance?
No idea, never used a KB with an LCD.

For the averages you have to set a hotkey under the benchmark tab in Afterburner settings and hit that hot key when in game. The averages will appear.

Hello, can we see the liquid cooling pump speed, cooling water temperature and CPU fan speeds with MSI afterburner?
I am pretty sure you can do some advanced configuration on it to show anything that has a sensor but I have only ever used what it comes with out the box.
I followed all these steps, but for some reason the OSD is still only showing the current frame rate (no average or 1% low, 0.1% low.) I've gone through the steps a few times but it still isn't working. Any ideas?
In the benchmarking tab of the settings, set a hot key to show the benchmark and hit that in game and those averages will display. You can also set a reset hotkey to reset them in game as well
Does this work on any application other than games
Not a 100% sure. Ribs tuner is what’s really providing the overlay and I believe uses hooks into the Direct3D it detects running so might if an app uses these apis but never tried it.
The Framerste option doesn't show up for me 😢
How do you increase the size? It's miniscule in my corner and it doesn't show all five just current fps and frametime
In riva tuner there is a slider to change it's size.

As soon as I started afterburner for the first time it populated all my card details (gpu speed, memory speed, voltage, temp, power limits, fan speed etc) into the app. This is different from your example shown at 2min44secs where nothing is populated into the app. Is this normal? is there a way to prevent this info from updating? (I just want afterburner/rivatuner for in-game monitoring of fps, gpu temp, cpu core temps, not Overclocking capability). Thanks!
MSI Afterburner will / should populate those things, just on some things it doesn’t work. The overlay will work the same though.
Not working for me, Im playing csgo2 with 4:3 resolution in fullscreen black bars. Did this exact thing but no fps showing up.
The overlay won't work with CS without a little more configuration. Add "-allow_third_party_software" to CS's launch options and then create a new profile in RivaTuner pointing to the CS exe and it will then start working.

How do you make avg, 1% low and 0,1% lows their own stat so they won't be next to each other without name? I want them to be on top of each other.
Usually you give them separate names and they will stack on top of each other not sure how you would do it without a name.

How do you do it on a second monitor. That's the one thing no RUclips ever mentions. You would think this is the first thing they mentioned. Nope . Guess when you want things done you have to do yourself
The overlay hooks into the game not the monitor so it should display where ever the game is, even in windowed mode.
How did you get it to look like that?, even though OSD was on a few things were not displaying.

Did everything the vid said now the OSD won't turn on. RTSS and Afterburner both busted
When I click to group and show all the fps things. It only show the framerate and non of the others.
As long as they are enabled they sometimes don't show until you turn on the "Benchmark" as that's what they are effectively doing. In Afterburner settings go to the "Benchmark" tab and set a hot key up to start and end the benchmark. When in game hit the hotkey and they should show. Ending should pause them so you can store them.
Are you able to get it on 1 line like the Steam deck?
You can configure it how ever you want. Just give all the items you want on the line the same group name.

Same as any windows app really. Click the top one, hold shift and click the bottom one will select them all or hold ctrl and click which ones you want and only those will all be clicked.
hii i installed this and after intsalling it startd downloading some direct x 2009. i just wanna ask is it safe coz directx installation part wasnt there in your video sooo...
I assume it's because it need specific libraries from that version and as it wasn't already installed it got them for you. Most steam games will do the same if it doesn't detect it already being there. As long as you got it from the MSi website as shown in the video then you are fine.

If you close rivatuner after opening it, does it remove the icon from the hidden icon tray?.
I believe it does. You need to just minimise it and it will return to the tray.

I dont think you can as there would little for it to tell you and it ties it self into a game running or at least i am not aware of any method to do this.

@@TechLabUK i tested it further and i found out that it only works in some games. it doesnt work in roblox for example which i saw it worked for others. idk why
@@sgardoboff5547 Ahh some games require additional launch options. Like Counter-Strike etc. Look up what Roblox requires for Afterburner Overlay to work.

if you close it, you have to start it by finding the exe in the rivatuner folder in programs...then pin the shortcut to quicklauncg/taskbar
It's still not working correctly. Only the basic stats are displayed despite me having selected others like 1% and 0.1% to be displayed.

@@jment34 Every GPU software comes with it's own version but they are often much more limited.

Some games it won't work with straight away but other than that did you set a hotkey to toggle it on and off? Sometimes it's defaulted as off, failing that re-installing Afterburner can resolve issues like that.

@@TechLabUK i installed MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner. Set everything up as you explained in the video but somehow i don't have access to the same settings in the Nvidia control panel as you have. Maybe my laptop is just too old
I tried updating the drivers but that made no difference.

You need to set a hot key to start the benchmark and hit that and they will appear.

Ok...but what about GPU ???
GPU is in the list sensors you turn on and off. Sometimes you have multiple as it's also finding the iGPU if you have one so have to try each to get the right one and sometimes a GPU wont report it's sensors so you can't find it. Intel Arcs are weird like that.
I did everything and there is no stats
It doesn't always work with all games so try another game, if nothing make sure the hotkey for toggling stats is working and if nothing then re-install Afterburner and make sure Riva Tuner have installed properly as well.
No just make it simple 1 overlay

It's all down to the sensors / drivers you have on the system. Sometimes Afterburner can't see half the stats because of old drivers or something.
Framerate 1% low and 9.1% low is not showing

This was an old video and we have better audio equipment now. The sentence ended with "MSI Afterburner".

It generally doesn't work straight away with valve type games including CSGO in the past. You need to add -alllow_third_party_software to the games launch settings in Steam and then add a new profile in RIvaTuner pointing to the games .exe file to get past this.
its only showing "60FPS"
Do you mean it is only showing the FPS or that it's showing you are only getting 60FPS?
