What a LOT of people dont know, me included is that capping via Riva Tuner is different from capping in game or in Nvidia Control Panel. It just works. No stutters for me, capping Flight Simulator to 64fps (60is on the limit for a gsynce compatible screens can handle without tearing, stutters - even though my screen should work don to under 50. It does NOT) . So 63 fps, and superdupersmooth! No vsync needed in NCP either (id just didnt get better). I still have som random occational stutters and freezes, but I think it has to do with the game, and Microsoft servers. But for now Im happy! Going from 144 gsynced to this i like open the door to well...alice in wonderland. A big suprprise (fon weird cats here though).
Hello, thank you for the video, I already had an existing Rivatuner setup and wanted to have the same with the FPS with the values, but I only get the simple FPS displayed. Why is that?
Make sure the others are enabled on the overlay and go to the benchmark tab, set a hot kep for starting / ending the benchmark and hit that in game. Those attributes are part of the benchmark and sometimes don't automatically display without forcing the benchmark to start.
Me neither....and no one seems to know. It would be nice if MSI had an in depth tutorial on this software,, so that we didnt have to rely on guys like this, who dont respond when theres something abnormal.
Same as any windows app really. Click the top one, hold shift and click the bottom one will select them all or hold ctrl and click which ones you want and only those will all be clicked.

@@NGreedia What hot keys are you setting. I have had issues with assigning some keys although Ctrl-Num1 (2,3,4,5 etc) seem to work ok as long as numlock is on.
If you leave the FPS counters names as default they are displayed as the API's that game uses I believe so DSD12 would be that that game is using the DirectX 12 API's. So maybe different games are showing different things or you changed the API that game is using in it's settings or something.
I see an option to display to the logitech LCD keyboard screen. I was wondering if it was possible to display it to the ROG Azoth keyboard screen. I only selected the box and it did not work. Do you know what I would need to do to make it work by chance?

In the benchmarking tab of the settings, set a hot key to show the benchmark and hit that in game and those averages will display. You can also set a reset hotkey to reset them in game as well
Not a 100% sure. Ribs tuner is what’s really providing the overlay and I believe uses hooks into the Direct3D it detects running so might if an app uses these apis but never tried it.
I am pretty sure you can do some advanced configuration on it to show anything that has a sensor but I have only ever used what it comes with out the box.
Is AB not being hacked these days? Right from MSI's landing page. I'm using 4.64 that I saved some time ago. It looks normal. The installer icon looks very suspect, It's a shape of a windows form with a small red circle in the bottom right with an arrow pointing down. It's not the normal MSI icons I've seen over the years.
As soon as I started afterburner for the first time it populated all my card details (gpu speed, memory speed, voltage, temp, power limits, fan speed etc) into the app. This is different from your example shown at 2min44secs where nothing is populated into the app. Is this normal? is there a way to prevent this info from updating? (I just want afterburner/rivatuner for in-game monitoring of fps, gpu temp, cpu core temps, not Overclocking capability). Thanks!
As long as they are enabled they sometimes don't show until you turn on the "Benchmark" as that's what they are effectively doing. In Afterburner settings go to the "Benchmark" tab and set a hot key up to start and end the benchmark. When in game hit the hotkey and they should show. Ending should pause them so you can store them.
It will be over the complete benchmark you run. You can set p hotkey's within the configuration to stop and start the benchmark and these will be reset when you do it and the averages are over the length of your benchmark.
The overlay won't work with CS without a little more configuration. Add "-allow_third_party_software" to CS's launch options and then create a new profile in RivaTuner pointing to the CS exe and it will then start working.
hii i installed this and after intsalling it startd downloading some direct x 2009. i just wanna ask is it safe coz directx installation part wasnt there in your video sooo...
I assume it's because it need specific libraries from that version and as it wasn't already installed it got them for you. Most steam games will do the same if it doesn't detect it already being there. As long as you got it from the MSi website as shown in the video then you are fine.
@@Juniorgalle21 Could try re-installing it in case there is a newer version. Also worth testing another game as some of them are weird like CSGO requires additional configuration etc.

@@sgardoboff5547 Ahh some games require additional launch options. Like Counter-Strike etc. Look up what Roblox requires for Afterburner Overlay to work.

Some games it won't work with straight away but other than that did you set a hotkey to toggle it on and off? Sometimes it's defaulted as off, failing that re-installing Afterburner can resolve issues like that.

For the averages you have to set a hotkey under the benchmark tab in Afterburner settings and hit that hot key when in game. The averages will appear.

How do I set it up to automatically get the GPU and CPU names, I mean when upgrading cards I don't want to keep on changing the group name everytime

didn't know that theres that more options, I just used stock ones
There are loads in there as long as you have the right drivers installed. A lot of the GPU isn't present if they are wrong.

In riva tuner there is a slider to change it's size.
With all this setup what is the easiest way to record my gameplay with the OSD stats visible in the recording? Things like OBS don't work..
You can record gameplay directly within MSI afterburner if you want. Setup a hot key and save location in the Recording tab I believe.

MSI Afterburner will / should populate those things, just on some things it doesn’t work. The overlay will work the same though.

When I click to group and show all the fps things. It only show the framerate and non of the others.

I believe it does. You need to just minimise it and it will return to the tray.

if you close it, you have to start it by finding the exe in the rivatuner folder in programs...then pin the shortcut to quicklauncg/taskbar

It should work, not sure of the specs though. It's sometimes weird with unusual hardware.

It's still not working correctly. Only the basic stats are displayed despite me having selected others like 1% and 0.1% to be displayed.

The overlay hooks into the game not the monitor so it should display where ever the game is, even in windowed mode.
