Sharon Tate, model and actress, reached the rare heights of 1960s iconic beauty as evident in these 1968 color home movies shot by her personal cameraman Shahrokh Hatami. These candid scenes capture Tate at her Hollywood home.
The otherworldly beauty of 25 year old Sharon Tate is absolutely incredible Her timeless beauty makes this 55 year old home movie look like only 55 days ago. She would have been 80 years old this year. I was only 4 years old when they made this movie that looks like it was made today, it’s hard to get my head around.

It’s not the best I’ve seen her. Everything from that dress to her hair, which looked damaged and just blah, the eye make up was too much compared to the way her hair. She also looked too thin.

Everyone talks about the murders but not a word about all the awful shit Roman Polanski was doing to her. She was a victim of Hollywood long before the Manson family incident.
A lot of people do mention Roman. Sharon had horrible taste in men.
She was doing "horrible sh_t" before she met him. None of the "victims" were innocent. Chaos by Tom O'neill goes into a lot of detail on exactly what they were up to. Notice she's never wearing shoes...Because the VD was so severe she had oozing sores on her soles. Manson family spared a lot of innocent people by ridding the earth of that filth.

Attended high school in Richland, Washington. A bedroom community for Hanford atomic works. The production facility for Oppenheimer's bomb. Having grown up in the community, living there since 1964 (at age six), I used to tell my Navy buddies (ported in San Diego) that Richland was the home of the most beautiful women in the world. I read an old issue of Playboy magazine that claimed that this title belonged to Shreveport, Louisiana. I remember the article because I remember thinking, "They have never been to Richland". I have never been to Shreveport, but I have been to a lot of other places, and I have never seen a community that produced more beautiful young women. Of course, that was back in the 1970s and I don't get out of the house much anymore to verify if my axiom still holds true.
Regardless, it was a wonderful place for a handsome young man to come of age. The city was chock full of Sharon Tates. I thought it was like that everywhere. It isn't and those Southern California beaches proved to be a mild disappointment.

Amazing, this is over 50 years old yet it looks like it was yesterday. I was a child when the Manson murders happened, it was one of the first global news events I can remember being aware of, along with the first moon landing.

I remember the shock of Sharon Tate murders, I was only 5 years old living in a working class neighbourhood in Manchester, England at the time. The news and fuss about this evil Manson family of social misfits in the US was everywhere. If you had eyes and ears you couldn’t escape it in any Western country even if your were 3 years old. I only realised who Sharon Tate was in the 1970s seeing her in a Vampire movie comedy with Roman Polanski. I was really sad when the penny dropped and I finally realised that she was the actress who died in that horrific murder in early August 1969.

So sad. I was 15 years old on vacation in Hollywood with my parents and sister when she was murdered. To think we were driving around when the Manson family was doing this.We we're from Ohio.

Her photographer friend, Hatami, who died just a few years ago. All of the personal videos you see of her in 1968, like this one, were filmed by him, including in the woods, at Sebring's house at Euston drive, on set of the Wrecking Crew in summer 68 -- all were his. He was a wonderful still photographer and took personal videos too.

Hard to watch remembering what happened back then. Crying shame.
Filmed at Patty Duke's house in 1968. If only they had bought that house as they planned to (Polanski refused to pay the price). Sharon loved that house. IT was her dream house. Instead she had to find and rent that damned Cielo house, not knowing that it was connected to a murderous cult (itself with connections to covert US agency programs), the previous occupants -- Melcher and Bergen -- having fled at midnight very possibly due to that cult, and Sharon and the worthless Polanski moved in, and the rest is history --- mostly history concealed and withheld by a country's justice system so corrupt the whole world now knows it. Sharon: An American tragedy.
