Oh but Sharon unbeknownst to herself and the public she became a legend. Unfortunately it wasn't until her death that became a legend. Unlike Marilyn Monroe, Sharon had a wonderful future to look forward too. Marilyn was dealing with depression, alcohol and drugs all at the same time. Sharon was beautiful, glamor and a wonderful personality. She is forever young, she lived a shortened life at 26 years old. I have tried to collect some of her movies over the years, just to have a small piece of her beauty. Nobody really understands why Sharon captured my attention decades after death, there is something about her we all loved about her, I guess that she was a gentle type she was. She will never be forgotten.

I like the way she kindly and gently takes exception to the word 'starlet'. Whatever opinion one holds of her acting ability, it's obvious that she took her craft seriously. Let's face it, the movies she was in, by and large, weren't particularly good. "Valley of the Dolls" can be fun if you're in the right mood, but it's kind of ridiculous. Had she lived and gotten better roles, she may have become a huge star. Unfortunately, we'll never know.

Had she lived, she may have progressed toward better acting chops, much like Farah Fawcett did. Farah, as most know, was a sexy pinup on Charlie's Angels, but then really progressed to become a more serious and well-thought of actress as she got older.

Thank you for sharing this. I was only eight years old when the murders took place and I knew nothing about them. I was looking through a copy of Tiger Beat (fan magazine mostly about singers such as David Cassidy and the Monkees) and there was a reference in the magazine that read something like "...the tragic death of Sharon Tate last year". I asked a relative who she was.---This is the first time I've heard Miss Tate speak at length as herself and not a movie character. Her voice and Jayne Mansfield's voice in conversation, not acting, are quite similar. Jayne Mansfield also spent much of her growing up years in Texas.

She seemed so very sweet and lovely. I don't have allusions that she would've been a big star. I think that she would've been more interested in being a mother once her son was born. Or, maybe she would've returned to acting as soon as her baby was old enough. But I don't think she was going to be a great actress. Not being mean, just realistic. After seeing her films, I just don't think she had *it* the way others did. But it is a shame she never got the chance to live out her life and raise her baby. Wrong place, wrong time is more than a tragic ending - for anyone.

    to cubomania :
I think they wanted to Sharon gained experience. Therefore they kept her "in the vault". However, these episodes were ridiculous. If they (Martin Ransohoff and others) has rushed her in deep water, it would convince then she would give herself advice. If not, Sharon could get secondary roles, three-fold. And even that was not given her one at the beginning, just some funny roles, where she had just lit a pretty face.
Sharon Tate's subsequent developments have shown that undoubtedly she had talent. Certainly comedy, but whether that she has achieved success, this we will never know. if not her premature death, then I think she could do much to achieve.

Miss Malibu California Sharon had the following relationships with men:
      - With Dick Beymer, joined their young, platonic affection, Dick, moreover, seemed to be enchanted Sharon and probably can crush in her. I do not know, why they do not both more involved, I think it's the fact that they both - Sharon and Richard, wanted to succeed in Hollywood.
-with Philippe Forquet - relationship was very stormy, and the Frenchman wanted to Sharon threw a her career and moved with him to France. He wanted Sharon appropriated for the benefit of his own career. But she was stubborn and by her own choice and ambition , she was beaten by him - as a result of a beating Sharon was in the hospital.
      - Roman Polanski ... well, Roman always loved sex ... His first wife, Barbara Kwiatkowska, was notoriously cheated by him. So Sharon was no exception in this respect ...
      - Jay - as for me, the best man for her. Sharon spoke of him as "a man of extraordinary kindness". Jay had one weakness - he was BDSM - he liked to tie the girl and flog them.
Sharon despite the trauma - she was raped in high school, but she had no distance before closer relationships with men.
According to me she made the wrong choice - Sharon should be with Jay, not with Roman. Jay respected her as a woman, Roman did not. His infidelity was quite insolent - he betrayed his wife in every situation that just arose.

You "didn't find Jay that appealing". From that statement it would appear you met him at least once. Please clarify the circumstances or perhaps admit everything you've said is conjecture about people you didn't know that died almost a half century ago.

2:20 onwards I felt like a descriptive educative beautiful perception from a beautiful woman and then when she goes about Markyn Monroe, I felt so humbled to see her humbleness on becoming 2nd Marilyn Monroe. It means good looking people with good perceptions are really really hard to find these days rather than in those times. 😧☹️😧😨
