The home that sits where the murder house was is supposedly worth around 50 million dollars. It's behind the gates at the very end of the street. But it is not a very impressive approach to the home - looks more like a back ally with all those trash bins and cars parked everywhere. When the home was built, that long, narrow drive went to just that one house. Later owners sold off parts of the hillside over time and now they have too many homes on that narrow street.
From the main part of Cielo where the killers parked up to Sharon's gate about how many yards is it Two Football 🏈 fields looks like a long stretch there with no houses at all until you hit houses????
@BikeLA23 Why keep your distance? There's a gate there. Everyone goes up to it. The actual house and gate are long gone, replaced by a super-gaudy palatial estate.

The road/driveway was very, very narrow at the time of the murders. Seriously, one car could barely fit. I don't know how a moving truck could have made it up the hill. It was widened in the 1980s. Tanya Roberts (one of Charlie's Angels) owned one of the white houses that the cyclist rode past. Coincidentally, Tanya Robert's sister, actress Barbara (Chase) Lewis visited Sharon on August 8, 1969 and had lunch with Sharon and Joanna Pettet on the lawn. Before she died I asked Tanya about this. She confirmed her sister knew Sharon but she didn't have any information regarding the lunch. Tanya and her sister were not that close.

Go up to the gate. I do. And slow down. Start at the bottom of Cielo as you turn off of Benedict Canyon and film the ride going up. It will be a better video.
Great tour on the private part of Cielo where Sharon lived there are 5 houses now there was only 2 in 1969 they were really isolated up there poor Sharon was not expecting nut jobs to go up there and kill her??!!!
Why didn't you start the ride at the beginning where Cielo hairpins into the narrow 'private' road? The killers drove up to the power pole in front of 10050 (no longer where it used to be), cut the wires, drove back down, parked just to the left of where you went to the right, and walked back up to start the rampage. Would have been more accurate that way.
Hi thank you for your comment. I don't usually upload videos of me going up hill since I don't know if you want to here me breathing really hard. But I think that is a great idea and I will definitely consider it if I go back there. I always want to be as historically accurate as possible. Maybe I'll add some scary music. You need an aerial plat to see it. There were TWO built next to the original two by 10050 not one. One of those belongs to David Oman, the kook who claims that ghosts haunt that area. He gives a party there every August 8. Shameless! One or two more have sprung up since.

Yes, I was born here, and it is hilly all over LA, There is a mountain near LA that go up to 10,000 feet. but there are also very flat places.

There were three other houses on that narrow road in 1969. Two of them were right before the old gate at 10050 (murder house).
