    Best prevention is not to have cats around , considering persistence and consequences from such a parasites .
    If you're kid has this , it could easily be overlooked an mistakes add ADHD .or autism .

      insects and flies can also be a carrier/infected, so your house cat is not so safe if he swallow flies as they most often do, it's impossible to stop all flies from entering your home. Flies comes from outdoor where other outdoor cats poop and the flies eat it. . The only way to end this parasite is to stop its reproduction, which happens only in the cats.

    Speaking of cats ‘shedding’ the parasite could be terribly confusing to some because when one applies the word shedding to cats most people think of fur. And that’s not what is meant here.

    To be clear, one cannot get infected because a cat sheds fur on you.

    • @guysumpthin2974
      @guysumpthin2974 Год назад +1

      Right, but fur contaminated with toxo will do the trick. These micro eggs can live over 2 years in soil , sand , floor cracks, salt water, and bleach water and still hatch . They blow trough most vacuum cleaners . Cats are perpetually re-infecting themselves. Rub my head , rub my back , here’s my tail & butt , shakes tail . Cats , rats , & pigs are not native to Usa.

      These things can replicate organ tissue,eat the edge of your retina, create dormant cysts(often misdiagnosed) , cause late stage Parkinson’s, schizophrenia, change behavior, cause depression, headaches, flu symptoms, miscarriage, birth defects, mild to severe depression, nerve twitches,,,

Because its an anti-body test : positive is conclusive , negative is inconclusive (it grows faster from lack of response) ( and may be long term dormant cyst stage) . you say she (the pregnant mom) "should be okay" if the cat is shedding or positive for the parasite, seems like still taking a risk, if you have a human baby why even take the risk of those terrible birth defects!
    Also the spay and neuter does not work , it never does , it cost too much and people don't do it, So why say that not feeding the feral cats is bad? Why so much concern for the cats when there is a serious disease here?

    • @kanashihito1214

    I have antibodies for Toxoplasmosis. As I approach age 90, I have a continuing feeling of well-being and still work overseas as a consultant a few weeks each year. During childhood my siblings thought I was a little crazy but my IQ was measured at 155 and that may be why. I did not have a conventional way of looking at things. I told them the Tarzan movie was nuts because anyone with any sense would prefer to live with an African tribe than with a troop of Chimpanzees. I was about 12, so that was probably in 1944, after viewing a rerun of Tarzan and his Mate. "Me Tarzan, you Jane." About as silly a movie I had ever seen. As silly as the Charlie Chan movies for which they did not seem to be able to find a Chinese actor, though the guy who acted as his son did appear to be Chinese.
    We were a lower-income family, but I was able to obtain scholarships and three university degrees with GPAs at 3.7, 3.9 and 4.0 on a scale of 4.0 and in that order, the last at age 75.
    My point is that Toxoplasmosis is not something to get alarmed about. Take reasonable precautions and stop worrying.
