Toxoplasmosis killed my child! This parasite is highly neglected in the U.S. and my son’s death could have been prevented. We should be screening for this in prenatals.

This is a fascinating topic, I’ve read posts in which homosexuals who were prescribed ivermectin broke up with their significant other after and completely changed their gender of attraction. I’ve tried to bring up the data correlating toxoplasmosis to this to multiple health and science forums and get instantly banned. Controversial yes, but I think it does deserve some investigation.

It sounds very controversial and trials probably wouldn't pass the ethics committee. Also, in the current western society it's suicide to publish such a paper.
Would love to read one though. Would be crazy if it came out true. But on the other hand, there are so many basic behavior and thinking/mood aspects that are affected by so many random stuff. Stress, nutrition, where you live, noise, viruses, gut Flora, hidden allergies, undiagnosed illnesses, so so many.

Any time you hear about dormant or asymptomatic, realize it's proving the point that the claimed cause is not the cause but a result of a condition that attracts parasites. Terrain theory.. that's why the results aren't direct and hard to pin down. There's tons of other factors in nature and society that influence behaviors like stated.

The military did plenty of studies on toxoplasmosis in fact they had a lab where they purposely infected kittens and destroyed them at 6 months old.
The behavior in men and soldiers it makes them fearless and it makes them take risks.
It also has ties to suicide.
In women it can cause promiscuity.
If you're ever in need of an organ and you get a donor make sure that they are tested for toxoplasmosis because a lot of accidents involving high speed crashes and motorcycle accidents could be associated with toxoplasmosis.
It's possible the military purposely infected Soldiers with toxoplasmosis.

The need to anthropomorphize microorganisms makes it harder for folks to understand genetics and evolution. It’s hard not to do, but it really does complicate the issue for most. Few comments: sexual transmission in humans has not been proven, though there is significant varied evidence (laboratory and epidemiological) showing it is likely. And, there is evidence that the neuropsychiatric complications (ie. schizophrenia) are present in women, as in men, though it’s more on the line of earlier appearance of schizophrenia rather than cause and effect. But, great talk on parasitism and human/host interactions. If you really want to gross yourself out, look up ophiocordyceps genus parasite videos. Warning: they cannot be unseen.

It not only makes mice stupid towards cats it alters the cognitive abilities of humans, making us stupid in general which leads to poor life decisions. When infected we have more car accidents, commit suicide more often etc. etc. After years of challenging the immune system the T. Gondi infection can lead to migraines, and auto immune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. I disagree with sapolsky on its effects on women being less than men, in my experience It seems like women exhibit the main symptoms more overtly, leading to the title “crazy cat lady syndrome”. (Both my mother and 1/2 sister are crazy cat ladies so I should know). My 1/2 brother was also likely infected and he made lots of poor decisions before he sadly took his own life. My mother had 45 free roaming cats outside a small town in Oregon and the kids chores included cleaning the cat boxes so they were all likely were infected. Fortunately I was older and not present during this period so therefore am still relatively neurotypical.

I can completely agree with what you are saying. In this case I hope that more research will be done to develope medicine or a vaccine to get rid of it. This parasite influenced our culture massively indirectly. It made the Egyptians literally built a giant Sphinx. And is probably the cause of overly used Cat features as sex symbols.

but wait folks, its not just cats, its animals, farm animals. If you work on a farm or live near a farm with doo doo all over or a field where they spread it, you could get this parasite which doesnt make most people sick and if it does, most times no treatment is needed. So dont freak out people. Toxoplasmosis is like one of thousands of wiggly bugs we have in us or could have in us if exposed. Relax people. Cats are wonderful and deserve our help and care

I have a thai cat, he's pretty small sized (TLDR I have toxoplasmosis)
but a complete maniac, a biological weapon of a feline,
we took him our country house, as soon as we let him out of the transporter cage,
he goes poof dissapears into the wilderness,
it's been within one hour we found on the porch 10 rats, 3 birds, a snake, a mole and some unidentifiable John Does mutilated
he comes back his face is all bloody like in those NG documentaries,
he washes up and just becomes comatosed for a 3 hours.
and man, it only intesifies, as he moved into the insect kingdom
he completely fucked up every cat within the vicinity, not even trying to communicate, straight up goes and beat the shit up, no socialization at all. Once tried to eat a kitten who came to our house.
Not interested in mating at all, like a chad. Sometimes I wish I was more like that cat.
There were no exaggerations here. And all cause I balloted to my folks not to castrate him. Turned out good.

you mean the part where he talks about succesful soccer teams and high levels of toxoplasmocity(?)? yeah, that was fascinating too. Most of these soccer players are rags to riches stories as they are usually born really poor and in slums and have to work their way up the football ladder. And the slums they grew up in definitely do present favourable conditions for the parasite to thrive in. What I'm curious about is, what traits does this parasite give to these footballers and motorcycles? Recklessness? maybe makes you less risk averse so that you don't care about the consequences?
