    I am loving your designs Helen. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤ However, I need to know more about reversing the applique in general. ❤🎉

      When you trace a shape on to iron on webbing, it will be reversed as you work thru the process. So if a design has a cat facing left and you want it that way in your finished work, flip the design over and trace your design on to the iron on webbing from the reverse side of the design. Then when finished, it will still be a cat facing the left

      @@HelenGoddenQuilts Thank you. I'm looking for a book that will be a resource on applique to help answer questions and provide greater learning and opportunities. I'm working on an applique block at the moment. Appreciate the opportunity to have a professional standing by on rare occasions to help gasp techniques and skills. Thanks Helen. 💖

    So glad to have you back!!!! Nice tip to remove the backing for the appliqué with a pin through the paper! I really like the light box for tracing the appliqués right side up directly onto fabric, I have done it both ways (reverse as you say here) but the light box is better for transferring other details on the feature being appliquéd. I discovered Yenter has “Rainbow of Jewels” fabric line that’s perfect for appliqués which glow on dark background much like the luminaire paints! I do like your Pacosso designs, and your fruit still life you had a humorous panel with zipper quilted motifs some years ago:awesome! I did have trouble downloading your designs on my printer, it only printed 2 instead of the 4 so I’ve not actually worked with the drawings. But I did do a tshirt with the luminaire paints they didn’t wash as well as I had hoped! It’s awesome colors though! Love the inktense paints better. Your tips on color usage in front and background are wonderful!

    So tempting! I always wanted to make a tote bag for myself with the same style of painting. Just a question - is this specific paint washable?

    Hello this was my first time watching your video. I quilt small projects with appliqué. I love your results I’m going to have to try a small project.
    My question is what black fabric do you use and do you have to treat it before you paint. Thank you

    • @HelenGoddenQuilts
      @HelenGoddenQuilts  3 года назад +2

      I use basic black cotton fabric. Nothing too expensive so it has a little bit of sizing / starch in it from manufacture. Don’t prewash. Here in Australia it’s called Homespun. USA call it Kona Premium.
