If you are tired of keep having to pay for a new carburetor every few years, you can buy a rebuild kit and rebuild the carb yourself to save money! The gasoline to day is not as good was it used to be back in the days. The ethanol that is added to the fuel causes corrosion to your internal components. Dried up fuel will leave residue and over time. Your needle and seat or the float will stop working. Rebuilding these carbs do take a bit of time, but for a few hours of work, you could save hundreds on dollars. All you need is some simple tools and some patient. This video goes in depth on the process of disassembling the carburetor. Replacing gaskets, seals and other components. The components then get reassembled one by one with a step by step instruction. This is a 4 Barrels Holley Carburetor with vacuum secondary and electric choke. It is probably the most complex set up that you will run into.
