In this video I repair a dumpster dive find, a Clarke Woodworker Lathe.
I don't think it was ever used, I used some Polyurethane (PU) belting. I attempt to join it using superglue, but after many attempts I try heat to weld it. This works. Join me to hear some stories while I waste your time!

Nice one. Ya can be sure your 30 year old model is better made than their latest offering. The Clarke may not be as refined as a ML8, but with the tolerances you work to, your expertise in Glue can fill Any Gap in your Skills Mr.Boots ? Lol 😂. ... Can you tell how envious I am at you finding an older brand new wood lathe for nothing ya jammy git ! 😩

Once you open your eyes this stuff is all around. I used to look at the free ads and the boot sales but people who bring stuff there think it has a value. The real bargains are in the bins. If only I could find a set of multisize chuck collets for the big Harrison 11" then I'd be away with it! I am not sure I want this Clarke machine. I have a coronet Elf that answers all my handle making needs and has the accessories, wheras this one is as it is. I think 5 lathes is too many, I was quite happy with 3 and then the harrison and the clarke came along! Did you like my stories?

@@bootsowen Ohhh yea, if ya grow the beard longer we can start callin ya Uncle Albert .... "When I was in the War" .... Do ya find yer left sitting alone in the pub a lot ? ... Just codding ya, interesting stories are good to hear. China, a place I wud have liked to see back then, not sure bout now. But the point being at least you saved a good at least usable machine. Even if surplus to your requirements it can be sold or given to a glad recipient. Sure we used to dream about having such stuff.

That's right, burnerd multisize, a set used on ebay costs as much as i paid for the lathe! The lathe came with the collet chuck, but no collets. The chuck is useless without them.
